I love my 3 x 3 Bunnings gazebo but have just bought an Oztrail deluxe compact for the times there is only me and one dog :D eta I have a Bunnings gazebo set up in my backyard in one of the dogs yards, been through some tremendous rain storms and it's yet to cave in

try not to look at it that way, try thinking of the money you save by not going ie petrol money and, in particular the smaller shows, look at your entry as a donation that helps support the club so the show will be still around next year. :)

Dog That Loves To “mark” + A Puppy?
Rebanne replied to Oscar (AmBull)'s topic in General Dog Discussion
you should be restricting his access if he is going around marking stuff while out camping, I hope it's not other camper's stuff he is weeing on. -
Alternative Vaccinations?
Rebanne replied to Rilla-My-Rilla's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
As long as you have done your research and are comfortable with your decision you can give your pup just the parvo vaccination, it is readily available. Your breeder might not be happy though, depends if vaccinations are covered in your sale contract. -
take your brother out for a drive and stop off at the local pound, if the pound has some small cute fluffies that's even better. Not for the ones already in there but they can be used to hopefully change your brothers mind.

Congratulations LP and Leo, and yay for a newbie, finally. ETA even though I didn't go because of the weather I only entered because of the neuter class, so that was 2 entries from me that they wouldn't have got otherwise.

disappointed I didn't get a spin but glad I stayed home with the hounds

would love to spin the spinning wheel but not sure if I am coming now, expected temp here at home is going to be 36, need to think of the dogs and cats that would be left here at home.
-
now the greyhounds have been lost at least you tried
-
not according to the postmark on my envelope :)

Nup - I havent' got my numbers either, so hopefully they are sent to my home addy and will be waiting for me today . Cheque has been cashed, neuter cert asked for and received so I KNOW I'm in, but I'm paranoid because I'll be soooo upset if I miss this due to the neuter classes on offer! mailman finally came and my numbers are here
-
they are not used on greyhounds cause they bite people

No numbers here

how long is a piece of string? :) it takes what it takes, it depends on the pup and the owner, most pups could sleep 8 hr overnight by around 12 weeks, some can't. Day time takes longer, I reckon up to 6 months old. So saying that my 7 month old pup has never ever had an accident in the house or on the carpet on the back verandah and has slept loose in the house for around 2 months now.

You do know that most vets would not have the knowledge or equipment to do an transcervical insemination? The best that most could do is a vaginal AI. Well, the article I cited quotes the probably of a fresh intrauterine AI above 80% while vaginal AI just 50-50. So are you talking about most Vets or reproduction specialists? If I was going to pay the money, then I would want it done as I requested. Don't get me started on most Vets, here in the breeders forum. Px Px your the one saying get a vet to come to the property to do something they most likely do not have the skill or equipment to do the job safely. No good quoting figures for something that's not very feasible to do unless the OP is willing to travel with the two dogs to a repo vet who does do the transcervical insemination. And not all repo vets do TCI's

Training A Solid 'stack'
Rebanne replied to Elise+Hudson's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Amen to that, thinking outside the square is a given with a hound -
I just don't understand why do both? If you get a natural why not another? Why not 2 more if it comes to that, you still have to get the bitch to the dog. I would go natural before AI, to me AI is for when you can't get a natural mating or you are using chilled or frozen semen.
-
why do an AI if you can get a natural? If you think AI has a better succes rate then just do that.
