  14. dogs don't have to have seperation anxiety to not cope well in a kennel and all dogs in all kennels should be well cared for. Most of the dogs I have owned in my lifetime would survive being in a kennel for that long but do well, nup a couple would barely have come out in one piece. It's not just the taking of the dog overseas it is the coming back with possibly a very elderly dog. I can imagine the uproar on here if the OP was to ever post back in here in 4 years time saying she wants to bring her 11 year old GSD back and put them through quarantine. Do people not think that the OP has considered every possiblity and rehoming is the one that fits her dog best so came to DOL to get advice on how best to do so? All the people jumping up and down about the treatment of the poster in the my dog bit me thread, where are you now?
  15. I picked up a nice long framed mirror for $25 from Sam's Warehouse.
  16. yes! I got caught short with the washing powder, so much washing and I didn't want to go to the shops and leave the newborns. I did have enough of everything else though :D
  17. try this link :D he has 3 video's out nowI have had to be inventive with my current boy as I have a frozen shoulder and hand stacking is a bit difficult. Tonight I got a great free stack with duration by feeding Warrior fresh chicken mince off a spoon.
  18. Queensland Gap might be able to help. Not sure if the others adopt interstate. Important thing is to get a grey that has been fostered so the right match can be made. ETA and be prepared to wait a bit for the right one :D
  19. do you cue it stonecutter? eta no sitting for this game, need him to stand to attention :D
  20. I would like to teach my nearly 8 month old greyhound to catch treats. He is a very soft boy and the only training I have heard of, years ago, was if they missed it you had to move quickly to stop them getting the fallen treat. I reckon this would put my dog off for life  I want to use it when free stacking him for the ring. Warrior is coming along nicely in the ring but has the potential to be a bit of a plodder. I thought treat catching could keep his interest high. The other problem is he is not very interested in food in the ring but I was hoping if he got super excited at home some of that might carry through. :)
  21. urban dictionary:NAFF British slang, describes something that is stupid, lame or unpalatable I hope I never think my dogs wins or using them in my dogs profile is naff, how very sad.
  22. why? Were you ashamed of her wins? Did you think you looked boastful? What's naff? I don't get it, I really don't. Showing is a hobby but you are trying to win so why not be proud when it happens, why be made to feel it's something to be ashamed of?
  23. Maybe she was just seeing who was at the door? I adopted a rescue mini schnauzer at 3 years old, she used to be a breeding bitch at a puppy farm. She ALWAYS goes to the door or gate when someone walks past, she certainly isn't looking for her previous owner. no, there was a difference, there was a look in her eye, you had to see it. I also saw when she went to the door just to see who it was. She was in great shape when in the pound, her previous owners wouldn't pay to get her out, now that takes some understanding.
