  1. I got an eye complaint from the hot and dusty conditions at the Canberra Royal this year.
  2. so they are basicaly suggesting ethical breeders put up the price of their pups to cover the licence fee and people will still buy them cause there aren't many other options.
  3. Plenty of other dogs were not examined at all. Only 15 targeted breeds were to be examined and only the BOB winners, so only 15 dogs in total. All the rest were not going to be vet examined.
  4. what does it mean then? That they went to an eye specialist and got a certificate for doing so I guess. If they said they have clear and current eye certificates then that's a different matter but either I've missed it (quite possible!) or everyone is just saying the dog has an eye certificate. Too me they are different things. The Bulldog and the Clumber had current clear eye certs.
  5. me too and I'm not about to put collars on my dogs either for "just in case they get out". My dogs play hard and part of that is grabbing ech other around the throat, no way I am risking coming home to a couple of dead dogs. The chances of that happening are much, much higher then of them getting out.
  6. The dog might have been wearing a collar when it went missing and lost it along the way and most people know about pounds and would check with a pound first before doing anything else. Glad the dog returned home but sheesh some big assumptions here.

  8. http://minbeemedia.com/ your boy was beautiful!
  9. the bitch in the clip was 6 years old so bred and born 3 years before PDE. So it would appear the breeders were/are looking into their own backyard.
  10. people do sell on main register, with some breeds it can take longer to build up trust, what with all the "oodles" being bred all over the place. People have to appreciate that most breeders are trying to do the right thing by the breed and by their dogs. If I had a breed that was being exploited just to make money I be very wary, very wary indeed.
  11. well you can see why she had problems then. Breeders must have suspected her of not having the breeds best interests at heart and she has proven them right.
  12. yes the bulldog is happy but after watching it again it is not perfectly clear if that footage is from Crufts this year, I will need to compare the exhibit numbers to be 100% sure the footage looks like it is from another show so my apologies Kirty, it looks like a group lineup.
  13. apologies Kirty no it appears not. But the dog is still happy.
  14. watch the video, the dog is not obese and gaits fine around the ring, there are no signs of distress. If that's not a happy dog then I don't know what is.
  15. As far as I know - yes. What does the eye certificate cover, would it pick up ectropian or is it only a check for degenerative eye diseases? it picks up everything possible and would most certainly cover ectropion and entropion. http://www.petwave.com/Dogs/Dog-Health-Center/Ear-and-Eye-Disorders/Ectropion.aspx http://www.petwave.com/dogs/dog-health-center/ear-and-eye-disorders/entropion.aspx
  16. I have a roof racks with a basket on my Mazada and it holds 2 very large soft crates, my chair and a floor mat ( have yet to unpack from yesterday  ). If you are young/strong enough you could chuck a wire crate or two up there.
  17. video of the bulldog gaiting around the ring The dog also has a Clear eye certificate issued in Dec 2011.
  18. What were these people thinking, putting a dog up with these problems. I am sure they would be breeding from it as well. No wonder people see registered breeders as unethical. Imagine the pain this dog was in. I have to wonder about the judges along the way also... you are assuming the dog in question did actually suffer from said condition eta fix spelling.
  19. totally confused, it's been a long day!
  20. actually I would have to reconsider advertising my pups after 8 weeks of age because of http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/234935-new-vic-microchip-advertising-rules/ or break the law myself and put in false numbers.
  21. well I actually hope a toddler would be taken to a Dr first but a vet is a good 2nd choice  My vet once told me about the pressure point for tooth ache when I happened to mention my daughter was waiting to see the dentist. It worked a treat but it's not something I share around :D
  22. Where is my question rude and intimidating? I said please and thank you, what more do you want?
