Australian Study Finds Vegan Diets Are Good for Dogs
Rebanne replied to Deeds's topic in In The News
what a load of crap! -
I never have, my go to in the past has always been a good Greyhound man. They have sent me to the vet if they pick up something they can't deal with.
-
ask your vet. Lots of Greyhound people around there, no doubt there are some "muscle" men who could work on your dog.
-
I couldn't understand what the problem was? Was the it the old guys dog running around, the black and white dog and the couple had their dog in the gate? The article said the man was inside the dog park but the couple were trying to leave. I couldn't make sense of the video.

where's the bone in her diet? Reads a bit unbalanced as you have described it.
-
I sold a brother and sister to the one person. No problems there. Depends on the breed and the owners ability.

p!sses me off when little dogs get a pass. I saw a kid run onto the road to get away from an aggressive chihuahua cross. He was lucky no cars were coming. Same dog tried to eat my GSD. But my girl had better manners and just ignored it even when it was hanging off her back leg. Reported both times.

Dogs That Allegedly Mauled 2 Women Had Been Reported Many Times by Neighbours
Rebanne replied to Deeds's topic in In The News
they were family but allowed to "play" in the street. They won't be registered and I bet the limit was 2 dogs max but she had 4. Yeah she really cared for them. Takes more then throwing a bit of food to them. -
I'm so sorry, it's never time.
-
well you need to give a lot more detail before anybody can recommend anything. Size, coat, age, time, fencing etc

as a vet you would be aware how many blue staffies have skin problems, that there are many CKCS being bred and their health problems, I don't know much about the other two breeds. I suggest you decide on a breed and go from there. If you want to do it properly then you will need to join your states registry body ( DogsVic ). Any good shelter or rescue will only sell you desexed dogs. You need a good, ethical breeder to mentor you.

Rescued Tasmanian Labradoodles Adopted By Families. ABC News 9/8/24
Rebanne replied to Deeds's topic in In The News
the RSPCA is never 100% open. They like to make themselves out the good guys but it is often rescues that help pick up the pieces. I really hope that the RSPCA is paying the vet bills. -

Pro heart heartworm Injection side effects
Rebanne replied to Kazm's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I get my Valuheart from Budget Pet Products or off eBay. My local vet said she hasn't seen a case of heartworm in years so I am thinking of not getting any more for Rose once my current supply is gone. -
Pro heart heartworm Injection side effects
Rebanne replied to Kazm's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Because, after researching both the mosquito and heartworm, I realised my dogs will be very likely dead before heartworm could cause a problem. Nell came to me without any preventive and she and Phoebe will be 10 1/2 before there are any mozzies around. I did get Rose (6 when I got her) tested as GAP doesn't test them but use an all in one which can be given even if heartworm positive. Which I also don't like. I give Valuheart which only does heartworm. I don't like using too many treatments as you can gather. -
Pro heart heartworm Injection side effects
Rebanne replied to Kazm's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Sorry Molly had a bad time of it. I must admit I have never used any heartworm injection just monthly tabs which I actually give 6 weekly and have done so for years. I read up on the lifecycle of mozzies etc before coming to this decision. Once my dogs turn 10 I stop the heartworm meds. I rarely vaccinate either once past puppy shots and their first adult booster. -
Parvovirus Symptoms in Dogs and Prevention Tips
Rebanne replied to Oliva Smith's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
vaccinate I mean you can have a tray of disinfectant at your door that you can walk through and strip off clothes before coming in but it's all a bit extreme. I don't vaccinate after the basic puppy shots and the 15 month old booster unless I suspect the dogs were going into kennels. Then they get vaccinated. One of my 10 yo's last vaccination was nearly 4 years ago. She won't be getting another one. Those symptoms also apply to a lot of other things. -
Dying for sport: Abuse claims rock Australian greyhound racing
Rebanne replied to DogsAndTheMob's topic in In The News
sorry but some of that is just stupid. No one with any brains would let any dog out of it's crate without getting a lead on it. Yeah it happens, we all hear the stories of lost dogs at airports but a Greyhound thinking it was in a starting box?? Same as a dog losing a nail and being in a pool of blood. Nell lost a nail yesterday from SLO, if she had been in a crate she would have been in a pool of blood and I wouldn't have had to spend 30 minutes cleaning all the blood off the floors. And the dogs not rehomed and living in industrial kennels? Breeding dogs on the main. Not a lot different to a lot of ANKC dogs who live in a kennel environment. Not saying there are not bad people in the sport but give us real examples not hysterical rantings of one person. -
need a whole bucket of salt to view that list
