At 9 your premiums for your dog will be high. And all previous illness and injury will counted as preexisting. I would put what you would pay each fortnight in premiums aside. We all have our limits on what can be spent, money wise, on our pets. There are so many different things to factor in. It's impossible to advice you. Bottom line quality of life for your dog is what counts. Not long ago I put down my beloved senior. He was struggling somewhat, he was a good age for his breed, but I said enough, for both him and me. Some people would have kept him going but for what? A few more weeks or months? I wanted him to go in comfort and with dignity. I did not want him to fall and not be able to get up, to struggle, maybe in pain, but most likely in confusion and fear. I owed it to him. Do the best that you can for your dog, that's all he asks from you.

Pet Detective Calls for National Microchipping Registry. ABC News 15/9/24
Rebanne replied to Deeds's topic in In The News
if I could I'd have Rose on both. Phoebe could be at risk too as if they only look on the racing registry she won't be there. Luckily I have the place locked up tighter then Fort Knox. Odds of it happening would be very low but it is a bit of a concern. -

not as far as I know. I will ask my vet next time I have Rose there but I thought the rules had changed to only allow a dog on one registry. -
Pet Detective Calls for National Microchipping Registry. ABC News 15/9/24

I consider the fact that racing Greyhounds have their own registry are right royal pain in the **** My show Greys were/are all registered on an Australian wide data base but my race bred girl is on the GRV data base. One can only hope that it is Aus wide considering we live very close to a state border. When I was checking Nell's chip had been transferred into my name the girl was going to look up the racing registry. Wouldn't have found Nell there. So if Phoebe ends up at the pound will all databases be checked or only the racing one? -
Unless the lead was provided by the owners and it broke then yeah the dog walkers have to take responsibility

@studypets you are answering a post so old that Kojack is no longer a member here. I get you are trying to push your business but maybe you should read the forum rules.

Two Dogs Running Loose in Woollies No owner in Sight
Rebanne replied to Deeds's topic in General Dog Discussion
much ado about nothing -
If it's a ANKC dog then you could ask your governing state body for assistance. If you are talking microchip then apply to whichever registry it's on to get the chip into your name.

Australian Study Finds Vegan Diets Are Good for Dogs

what a load of crap! -
I never have, my go to in the past has always been a good Greyhound man. They have sent me to the vet if they pick up something they can't deal with.
-
ask your vet. Lots of Greyhound people around there, no doubt there are some "muscle" men who could work on your dog.

I couldn't understand what the problem was? Was the it the old guys dog running around, the black and white dog and the couple had their dog in the gate? The article said the man was inside the dog park but the couple were trying to leave. I couldn't make sense of the video.
-
where's the bone in her diet? Reads a bit unbalanced as you have described it.
-
I sold a brother and sister to the one person. No problems there. Depends on the breed and the owners ability.

p!sses me off when little dogs get a pass. I saw a kid run onto the road to get away from an aggressive chihuahua cross. He was lucky no cars were coming. Same dog tried to eat my GSD. But my girl had better manners and just ignored it even when it was hanging off her back leg. Reported both times.

Dogs That Allegedly Mauled 2 Women Had Been Reported Many Times by Neighbours
Rebanne replied to Deeds's topic in In The News
they were family but allowed to "play" in the street. They won't be registered and I bet the limit was 2 dogs max but she had 4. Yeah she really cared for them. Takes more then throwing a bit of food to them. -
I'm so sorry, it's never time.
-
well you need to give a lot more detail before anybody can recommend anything. Size, coat, age, time, fencing etc

as a vet you would be aware how many blue staffies have skin problems, that there are many CKCS being bred and their health problems, I don't know much about the other two breeds. I suggest you decide on a breed and go from there. If you want to do it properly then you will need to join your states registry body ( DogsVic ). Any good shelter or rescue will only sell you desexed dogs. You need a good, ethical breeder to mentor you.

Rescued Tasmanian Labradoodles Adopted By Families. ABC News 9/8/24
Rebanne replied to Deeds's topic in In The News
the RSPCA is never 100% open. They like to make themselves out the good guys but it is often rescues that help pick up the pieces. I really hope that the RSPCA is paying the vet bills. -
