  1. Thanks everyone for putting the results up, the show secretary is the last person to see anything or retain it
  2. Grounds look great and feel good underfoot. If the weather follows the forecast it's going to be perfect!
  3. I keep odd hours as I work night shift with a changing roster. Hard to put that in the gazette but I do use my mobile number and try to change the message on it to fit the circumstances ie postal entries have closed, ozentries close on such and such, best way to contact me is by text or email. Then I switch the phone to silent. One of my pet peeves are people who reel off their phone numbers and you have to listen, and pay, to the message 3 times before you can get it all. So a directive to repeat your phone number twice, slowly, went on and lo and behold people actually did so!
  4. totally rude, don't care what their excuse is, it just a dog show.
  5. I've used it in the past and from what I recall the dose rate to treat for heartworm is different to the dose rate for intestinal worms. And another dose rate for mange.
  6. Either way your other dog is copping it, tighten up on him now.
  7. I am pleased the info was useful. I have kept it so it can be updated and included on the website for next year.
  8. put a padlock on your gate and put the pup outside. Dogs need to be dogs to grow properly, both physically and mentally. It will not hurt your puppy to be outside while you are at work.
  9. yes he did, he also dislocated a toe twice getting off the couch not the sprung toe but a different one.
  10. I realise this is most likely way too late for this year but the following was emailed to me over night: The Myrtleford Masonic Centre have two Units self contained and a fully equipped shared Laundry One double bed unit with wheel chair access in the shower. The other unit is a king size double and it can be converted into two king singles A lockable door between the units converts them into a family unit. 11. but do your dogs do well on it? No need to change it just because some people on a forum say it's not top notch quality. The best food for your dog is the one it does best on, whatever that may be.
  12. it's quite common in greyhounds. One of mine sliced through a ligament when out for a walk. Never had anything done to it and it never impeded him in anyway.
  13. maybe try tightening up on his general manners and position in the pack. I said to someone only recently, "just because he has balls doesn't mean he can get away with it" when the dog was being obnoxious. Your dog has been sexually mature for sometime now so I don't know about blaming hormones for bad manners
  14. you should have seen one lot of entries I got during the floods! Luckily they dried out nicely.
  15. This. I would go to a vet experienced in taking hip xrays and get an experts opinion on them before doing anything else. The other thing to remember is you are talking about a living breathing creature and sometime sh!t happens for no good reason.
  16. and what a distance between them Its only a little distance Kadbury and I are really looking forward to our weekend away. It's no worse then me going to Sydney to a hound club show we are all mad ;)
  17. and what a distance between them
  18. Thanks all. Boronia, thanks for all that, but the dog is not actually car sick, just very anxious. I've had car sick dogs in the past before and he's not one of them thankfully. I have bought some tablets so will see how we go.
  19. yep tried DAP and things like Troy Behave
  20. I think it is but there might be user error :D eta nope checked the catalogue and the numbers are right 5 and 5 and no neuter.
  21. I did reply in the health forum but I just give most tablets in a bit of peanut butter.
  22. What breed of puppy? Take her off all puppy food and put her on adult food. Add in some Vic C and a mutli vitamin. Yes it can happen when they are teething but incorrect feeding can also be a cause. My boy was the same around that age, fast growing large breed, I was already feeding adult dry but cut out the chicken and added the vitamins. He was also straight to start with and I was pretty confident he'd come back to straight anyway but took those couple of steps just to help make sure. ETA my boys problems was more ease west then splayed feet but all the other would still apply
  23. after any information on this herb please. I have a dog here who is a bit sensitive and while he is pretty good at home, he is not so good when we are away. He doesn't travel well in the car or the trailer, can't bear to have me out of his sight while we are away even when left with the other dogs and generally is very miserable. He constantly whines and sooks but thankfully does shut up at night. He doesn't come with me very often, if I am only away for one night he stays home, but sometimes he just has to come. I have some valium from the vet to try him on but was wondering about St John's Wort which is claimed to be very similar to valium. I can buy dried herbs, powdered herbs, capsules, tablets etc. I was thinking either the dried herbs made into a tea or the powder sprinkled on his meals. I'm after something that is able to be used for the time period around each stressful event rather then something he has to be on all the time. TIA
