no it isn't. Steve has previously posted a photo of a beagle crossed with something else that to all intents and purposes looked loke a beagle. There were two? photo's posted, one was a pure beagle, one was not. And it was nigh impossible to tell the difference.

a poem I wrote for my beloved Zoe, the bestest German Shepherd ever HEARTBEAT AT MY FEET The old dog lies there Curled up in sleep Twitching and dreaming Heartbeat at my feet Dreaming of Other days Younger days Heartbeat at my feet Of days filled With fun In the sun Heartbeat at my feet Of days free of pain From old age and It’s cruelties Heartbeat at my feet Soon, her pain is gone Mine has just begun And no longer is there Heartbeat at my feet.

Never have you failed him, in fact you can give him the best gift of all. Peace. Sweet is the sleep that ends all pain.

no definitely not! If you can't cope then listen to what you are trying to tell yourself, it is time. It is another sign, be kind to your dog and be kind to yourself. This living on a knifes edge is no fun for man or beast.

Really, they pay the many thousands required and put the dogs into quarantine as required? well good on them. Pleased to read it.

I'd be plonking them in the middle of the lounge room floor and leaving him to it. Let him check them out in his own time and way. I've had one go right off at the dog in the mirror, can't remember which one. It was the dressing table mirror and for several days they would bark and growl until they got over it. Which they did if they wanted to sleep in my bedroom

I would rather go too early then a second too late. I have been that second too late and it's awful and it haunts me still.

Have you never had a dog go off at a mirror the first time they saw themselves in it, or raced behind the TV to find out where the "whatever that caught their eye" is hiding? It's the same thing, relax, he's not about to attack someone. You can put them somewhere else so he sees them more often and gets used to them if you want.

Sighthounds Don't Need Health Testing
Rebanne replied to SaddleNotIncluded's topic in General Dog Discussion
in race bred greyhounds. Not in show bred greyhounds. But race bred don't have greyhound neuropathy which is in show bred and thankfully has a test. In greyhounds there is only the test for neuropathy, nothing else. Some things that seem more common in race bred are not so much in show bred and visa versa, even allowing for the differences in breed numbers. But many of the health problems that may crop up are not specific to any one breed. On the whole sighthounds do seem to have the least genetic problems but regardless there is no way I would buy from someone who charges extra to vaccinate the pup and not when you can go to a registered breeder and buy a pup for $600 as seen on the DOL breed page which I posted a link to previously. -
I don't understand why you are bringing this all up now and sorry we have no way of knowing if this is all true or not? why not just ask a hypothetical question

I would still have her on 3 meals a day for a bit longer. But I would be giving her the last meal much later in th eevening and I wouldn't leave it down for 2 hours either. I'd feed roughly 8, 2 and 8 or 9. Depends when you are home from work etc. First meal to go would be the lunch time one.

A Dog Charged And Grabbed Our Dog This Arvo

Be aware Dexter could have bruising around his throat and check him very carefully to make sure there isn't a tooth hole as they can become very nasty. -

Can You Teach An Old Dog New Tricks?
Rebanne replied to Pammie-Jayne's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
A good strong cattery attached to the house, with fencing between the dog and the cattery and good solid doors within the house. As a cat owner there is no way I would take a chance on a 10 year old dog becoming cat tolerant. I would figure that my cats would outlive the dog, the dog will be gone sooner rather then later and would keep them apart until dog has passed. Would save a lot of stress on all 3 animals, especially if cats are unused to dogs. We have had to keep a close eye on one of my greyhounds whenever we went to my daughter's house. Her cats lived with a greyhound, my greyhound lived with cats but one of the daughters cats gave off distinct victim vibes, which increased the interest in him by my grey. Last visit down there the cat decided he had had enough of this and started acting normally, mooching around instead of slinking etc and the greyhound lost all interest. It was a very interesting thing to see and very clear. There was no way my cat tolerant dog would have ever been left alone with this cat and we still don't let cats and dogs alone together. And these animals were used to living with the other species. -
Imported Stud Impotence/infertility - More Common?
Rebanne replied to Missymoo's topic in Breeders Community
I thought temperature induced infertility only impacted on the sperm already made/in production? Mind you if it can cause problems in the short term what's to say it can't cause long term problems as well. Interesting discussion. What about imported bitches, they are born with all the ova needed, has there been a corresponding drop in their fertility or is it harder to detect?
