I haven't seen anything else re this topic but I found it very interesting reading particularly Item 31 put up by the French Bulldog Club of Vic. The Role Of Dogzonline in the Australain show ring. Handlers should be cropped out of online profiles DOGS Victoria should lobby and address this issue. Resolution: This is an issue that the ANKC could possibly address.

for the ears? thick coat of vaseline. Sticky fly paper, hangs down in a spiral, hung up around the back door, the kennels etc. Stinky fly traps in the same place. I think Basil (herb) repels flies but you would need to check at a nursery and also if it is safe to have around th edogs.

but being allowed to work can be a reward, therefore can be a positive reward. -
but cause they are smaller and their owners don't think they are a problem they are often not contained properly.

I use a snake chain in the show ring cause it looks good on the dog, no other reason. I certainly don't use it to correct them. -

no I'm with Becks they used to be called choke chains and that's what the obedience club called them way back when. So call me ignorant but they will always be choke chains to me. Same as dry food is dry food, not kibble :) -
it used to be an offense to have a dog rush at another person or dog even if the dog doing the "rushing" was behind a front fence. Maybe it still is.

Bitch In Heat Off Lead At Park. Rant.
Rebanne replied to Mashlee08's topic in General Dog Discussion
if the dog was interested but not that keen then it is highly unlikely the bitch was ready. you won't be able to miss Quinn when she's in unless she does have a silly season and they aren't that common. If you want an idea on when she is most likely to come in ask your breeder what the female line is like. That's always a good guide. And it's not uncommon for bitches to not come in until they are older. -

what a silly thing to say. Bitches are just as driven as dogs to mate and make sure it's their genes passed on. Poor girl sounds like she shouldn't have babies. -
maybe you shouldn't let her do stairs at the moment?
-
you would be if they forced you or your dog out onto the road in front of a car. Made you drop your dogs lead in the scuffle and your dog took off never to be seen again.
-
I'd be skipping the trial. Wouldn't matter if there was nothing else on until March. If you want to use the best dog (in your opinion) then that is what it takes.
-
or are you buying another one?

With the winter litter I used vet bed, for the first few days covered with a polar fleece blanket, then the polar fleece was removed. I cut my vet bed into crate size pieces and just overlapped them for the whelping box. Plus heaps of layers of newspaper underneath. Summer litter was newspaper covered by sheets/towels, often with a frozen bottle of water or two tucked underneath.

Can Vaccinating A Pup To Young Be Dangerous?
Rebanne replied to biglib's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
was wondering when microchipping was going to come up. Pup also has to be microchipped before being sold. So a pup illegally sold before 8 weeks, with no microchipping and a vaccination that is useless. Yeah great breeder the poor mite is coming from. -

agree, and having had greyhounds coming into the house, for the first time, as adults, well age had no bearing on how they behaved, reacted, coped, etc and everything to do with their baseline temperament.

Skye Terrier In Blacktown Pound
Rebanne replied to Boronia's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
I'm hoping this actually means 'One of the breeders is hotfooting it to Blacktown to get him' rather than just being aware and not ignoring him. Rescue should be a last resort and you'd hope he'd go to a rescue that knew something about the breed. I don't know Sheridan was just passing on a message cause some posters here were getting a bit antsy. Not everyone can drop evertyhing at a moments notice. Skye breeders are not exactly thick on the ground. Sorry for trying to reassure people, won't be back in this thread. -
