  1. it has all been suggested before and ignored.
  2. Oh so you did think about sending Lucky to GSN, changed your tune about them. Your mistakes could have been avoided if you had bothered to listen to anyone here.
  3. Most states have GAP or similar, some states are lucky to also have other, good rescues, operating. GSN in Vic and Friends of the Hounds in NSW have both been around for some years now. Also other, non breed specific, take in and do a good job with greyhounds. ETA I am sure I have left some groups out that are also doing a greyt job, my apologies for not knowing all the names Aus wide. There is one in WA that I can't recall the name of right now.
  4. You have had some good advice, I can only add to make sure you get proper papers with any bull breed pup you buy. (should get proper papers with any breed) If you were to move to Victoria, or other states go the same way, and no one can predict the future, papers may be the saving of your dog's life.
  5. Suprise suprise! What happened to the trainer you were working with? If you are not fostering or rescuing what exactly are you doing? adopting? or are pound rounds happy to send dogs to someone who clearly have no idea and is not able to manage the dogs? Where is Lucky now? Animal Aid? AWL? dumped upon another rescue? Rehomed within days? or in a kill shelter? Ina is supposed to be with another rescue and Lucky is supposed to be fostered out
  6. No it doesn't make sense. You are saying that you disagree with what you have been told by people here about running a responsible greyhound rescue. You don't want to follow laws and are not afraid of being sued if you don't follow best practice? You want to antagonise people who cross you? Why would you expect us to believe you can be responsible about rescue at all? Greylvr disagree's with GAP because of something on their website that she took offence too and disagrees with GSN because they were recommended to her as a good place to foster for and learn. I certainly don't have Nic.B's faith in Greylvr doing the right thing by my breed at all. I have probably not worded my post well Rebanne and perhaps there is a lot more going on that I am not aware of. I can definately see why there are major concerns from what has been posted already. No Nic.B I really hope you are right and I am wrong
  7. I got some of this dry food the other day to try. Big fail with my dogs, they hate it. Back to Pal for them

  9. like the group that won't use vets that "profit" from racing greyhounds. Who cares if they treat racing greyhounds, they have breed expertise and sometimes that's what is needed to fix the dog.
  10. Bamboo, as a long time owner of cats that have an outside cattery that they are free to come and go to as they like, let me assure you, the cats are fine. You can include sunny and shady spots, put up high areas for them to sit on etc. I used the area between the fence and kitchen, there is often a "dead" area that can easily be turned into a cattery. Add in a catflap/window and there you have it. Mine has been up for around 19 years now.
  11. very misleading when the FB page states founded in 2011
  12. Hey it was a learning experience and one I wont make again. I never thought in my mind that the neighbors would kick up a stink. Although I am a live and let live type person but hey they started it so they will be getting nice visits from the council because I am tired of listening to their dog bark all day. So they either shut their dog up or they deal with the rangers. How they can complain about dogs that never barked, we not outside unless supervised and only to play and potty is beyond me but we will see how they like the rangers knocking on their door because their dog is a small yappy dog that barks all day You would be better off putting your energy into learning about greyhounds and looking into laws, regulations and best practices than wasting your time on retribution. Council will require you to provide detailed evidence before they take action on a complaint like that. Other than that, all they will do is inform the dog owners that somebody has made a complaint about them. I thought you were moving anyway? Live and let live only applies when you act within the law. Council permission is required in most areas of Victoria to have more than two dogs. Actually its 3 dogs we can have here per the ranger that we talked too. they possibly objected to you taking the greyhounds out to play in the middle of the night cause they wouldn't settle as per your FB page. Your above post certainly shows what type of person you really are. Lol if taking the dogs out to run around is a crime sue me. These dogs dont bark, a 10 minute zip around the yard is hardly disturbing. I guess it is less disturbing then a dog barking all day then getting let out at 11pm to bark some more. Not sure why you feel the need to follow someone on facebook that you dont like. Is your life missing something that you need it to fill? Soaps not giving you your drama fix? yeah that I dont like listening to a dog bark all day, waking up the baby etc? Horrible person to want to live in peace and have a baby that can take a decent nap on her bed instead of being woken up and having to sleep in my room because its further away from this dog barking. Once again you are showing your true style, it's always everybody else's fault. You should have got your permit for 3 dogs before you got 3 for instance. You should have done a lot of things but you didn't, so now you are going to take revenge on a neighbour who might not have even been the one that complained.

  14. Best you check out your councils laws and bylaws and the state ones as well.
  15. We look forward to having another hound neuter in the ring :D
  16. actually, as someone who has worked in a pound and held hundreds of dogs and GoD knows how many more cats, I thought it was a terrible reply. The people responsible for the animals dying are the owners not the pound workers. Terrible, terrible things you have said and it has me back there living it. IT WAS NOT MY FAULT THE ANIMALS DIED.
  17. Jerry Lee time to put a sock in it. Thank you.
  18. I have greyhounds, a large breed, I prefer to grow my pups slow. Puppy food can make them grow too fast. Everything is higher in puppy food. Protein, fats, calories etc. Lots of people feed puppy food, lots don't. :)
  19. Best you ask your breeder. You should get a diet sheet or information before you bring your puppy home. After the puppy settles in you can slowly change the diet to what you want. Personally I don't feed puppy food to pups once they are past 12 weeks old.
  20. The point is HW's point is an uninformed point. It's the uninformed point of those who think that SBT's are muscle bound house bricks. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Muscular? definately, but athletic muscular. Have a look at the video & see the ''build'' that is ripping the course up. Not only ideal. Pretty well perfect. Seeing is believing. There are plenty of dogs suited to the activity. The SBT is one. I do agree with you tho. Larger breeds like the GSD aren't suitable. They would struggle in the tunnel for a start. & the sharp turns would test them. It is a time trial after all. It's the smaller more athletic & agile dogs forte. you say HW makes an uniformed pont. So do you re GSD's in agility. I've been around since Agility first started in this country and I titled a GSD with no problems. At the same time there were several reg. staffies also competing well. Then you played agility with the breed/dogs you already owned/bred. As things have progressed and Agility has become more "serious", then yes that's when the BC's/Aussies/Kelpies became more popular. I have known people get rid of their chosen breed and buy an "agility" dog. My suggestion to the OP is get a dog that you daughter can cope with and enjoy, winning is not the be all and end all of anything. If it was I wouldn't be showing a greyhound
  21. I am told liver water is amazing at picking up tiny puppies strength? Liver water i havent heard of it before where d you get that from? Boil up a beefs liver, just covered in water, for 5 minutes then, once theliquid is cool give the pup a few drops every couple of hours.
  22. actually you posted about your problems on another FB page, not on your own. As I said the greyhound world is small. If you had listerned and acted upon some of the advice given here you would now not be in this position. But no, you knew best and now the dogs are paying for it. The dogs always pay in the end. Please get over yourself! The dogs are not paying the dogs are fine. Yeah I figured a FB group would be a help clearly none with you in them you might be surprised what groups I am part of. No doubt a lot, you need to spread yourself out so you can maximize your drama intake.
