My first thought was to send all the deposit back. My 2nd thought is to keep some because a) you have incurred extra cost by keeping the pup for longer then you thought not to mention phone calls etc made and b) there should be some consequence to her actions. You may not have been the first breeder she has stuffed around nor may you be the last.

And how are they going to judge healthy?
-
So have I but the dogs in question did not exhibit very sound temperament at that time. Because of the judge or because of the dog Apart from contradicting yourself about putting hands on the dogs, you have your own recurring theme when you reply to me. Are you part of the solution or do you just set out to slag off others who are advocating for their own breed? Do you own and exhibit Maremma, or did you not see that they cannot be lumped together with other breeds and approached in a generalist fashion? No I don't own Maremma's nor do I want too. I wasn't slagging off anyone unlike yourself who made it pretty easy to find out what judges you were talking about. And I don't see where I was contradicting myself about judges putting hands on. But that's alright you just keep on believing how hard done by you and your dogs are. And why did you show a dog that not even you could examine?

My GSD was 6 when formally diagnosed by xrays. She had been seeing a vet for acupunture and chiro since she was about 2. Zoe had a really good response to acupunture so she had gold beads implanted into the points. She lived another 5 years without too many problems but did require frequent top ups and tweaks. Zoe was titled in obedience and agility before the HD diagnoses and did an ET afterwards. She was kept lean and fit.

Why would you even show a dog not even you could touch? Just setting the dog up to fail. And it's Irish Setter and you don't know how it's display of unsound temperament was rewarded by the judge or do you?
-
I think the point you missed is that they are in fact titled, meaning enough judges deemed them worthy and did not non award. Surely a judge who could not approach a dog becuase of fears related to temperament, would non award. I've seen dogs awarded that the judge never touched, also seen them dumped.

Maybe Tralee's dogs aren't sound in temperament which is why he keeps trying to say the judges are approaching the dogs wrong? It's a recurring theme of his - the judges always don't handle/approach his dogs in the correct way, therefore putting his dogs at a disadvantage.

have to agree with you Steve. Feral pests.

with my GSD who was ball obsessed and who had severe HD we adapted our playing style. I still threw the ball for her but she was only released to get it after it stopped. No more chasing a bouncing ball. We only played in our back yard. Also hide and seek games were very popular.

I'm glad your boy is ok but he might have bitten his own tongue :D

A Follow On Thread For Those Who Now Have Their Puppy
Rebanne replied to julesluvscavs's topic in Puppy Chat
My 16 month old pup/dog still enjoys tipping over her toy box and spreading her toy collection from one of the house to the other, much like a child would. So yes, get used to it :p yep Warrior pulls out half the toys in the basket everyday :D -

Umm Warrior is 20 months old now and my loungeroom looks like that most days. Personally I don't see a problem  -
I saw it on Face Book, thought it was

free play is more important as they will stop when tired, or should! I used to just walk my pups the length of a couple of houses at first and slowly work up to around the block - about 10 minutes by around 6 months. 30 minutes by around 12 months. And would often sit by the sidelines when at obedience classes for a breather half way through. Training at home was 5 minutes max couple times a day.

Yes you do!

these are lovely shows, it's a pity I am working, can highly recommend them

Rehoming Rescue Dogs - How To Enforce Desexing ?

what a good idea. -
yes I have one, I find it very good to hold and handle. Thought it might have been a bit awkward but it isn't. oooh can we have a test of this on some Fauvey claws next time we catch up? I want to buy one because Fauves have nails that grow SOOOOOO fast and if it works well I'm going to buy one. Don't want to invest without seeing how to use it and how it works if that makes sense. yep I'll bring it to the shows with me. Best thing is it holds it's charge for ages and you can't over charge it.
-
How do you know all this? And what a good job of ruining a dog's joints by walking such young pups for 5 or 6 hours a day. Either these are your dogs or you are blindly believing everything this "customer" is telling you. Interesting that you also own a dog who wants to chase skateboarders.

As long as he's careful & he doesn't accidently let the dog escape via the front door, then he could be in trouble...but I agree they are hardly going to inspect where he is sleeping at midnight! He is actually pretty careful. If its a stinking hot night and he has his window open, his dog is tied to a long lead overnight. and you know this how? The "owner" told you? The same person who is carrying the muzzle instead of putting it on his dog?
-
It's the skateboarders fault of course.
-
of course it is hurting humans. Why do you keep making excuses for this dog? Im not making excuses. Im telling it how it is. When i have seen it go for skateboarders its intent is to grab the skateboard. In this process hurt could come to the skateboarder by falling over or getting an ankle bite. Muzzle would solve this. How do you think its hurting humans when it hasn't hurt any human in its lifetime? and if the human hits their head on the footpath, breaks their ankle in the fall? Get real, the dog needs to be PTS and the sooner the better.
