I like your idea of a pen around the doorway into the garage so he can choose whether to be inside or out when you are not home. I would put something a bit more solid at your gates though cause, if it was my place, I would give my pup the run of the whole yard when I was at home.

I use a monthly tablet for heartworm only but the brand I use has Ivermectin. I do intestinal worming seperately and any flea stuff on a different day again. I also do not start giving heartworm prevention until the pup is at least 5 months old.

Impounded Bull Breed Put Down Before Breed Assessment In Nsw
Rebanne replied to BlackJaq's topic in In The News
The dog was put down because the owner failed to: a) microchip b) register the dog with Council c) claim it after 7 days I agree with mita. If the above were the reasons the dog got put down, why wasn't the other dog put down at the same time? Maybe the other dog was chipped or registered, or they were trying to locate the owners? Someone has said the other dog wasn't theirs, it was apparently at their house but belongs to someone else. Regardless, the dog wasn't put down because it was un-microchipped, unregistered, and not claimed within 7 days. It was put down because the pound decided they did not like the look of it and, instead of giving it a chance to either a) go home or b) find a new home, they killed it. Telling owners they are irresponsible and have let their dog down is one thing - but letting pounds get away with needlessly killing is another. If the lazy arsed owners could have bothered the dog could have gone home. And how do we know what it's temperament was like? The owners said it was lovely but who could believe them. -
What did the owner say the vet told them to give? I have read the vet said to give 0.5, I have read the owner gave 2 but what was said between vet and owner?

Impounded Bull Breed Put Down Before Breed Assessment In Nsw
Rebanne replied to BlackJaq's topic in In The News
Only people to blame are the owners. They cared for the dog so much they went away and left it. At least her death was quick, not like what could have happened while roaming the streets. -
and that's the really hard part, how much more do you put her through on the chance it may work. Can you live with yourself if you don't give her that chance, can you live with yourself if you do and it doesn't work? We all have our limits and I really feel for you Ness, I really do. I don't regret my decision making but I wish it hadn't had to be.

For me, it would be time to think about that power we have to give our furred family the wings to soar away from pain and frustration ..to leave broken bodies behind ... I have been hesitating to say something similar as I couldn't find the words. I to have been there and done that. One of the hardest things ever. Take care, you are not alone

only you can tell that. :) Can you feel his ribs?

Hip/ Leg Issue With 7 Month Old Lab
Rebanne replied to timberlands's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I wouldn't be waiting for a few weeks. If your dog isn't using her leg at all at times then that suggests quite a lot of pain. Take her to the vet this week, if they want xrays then either wait until she is due to be desexed or move that op up. But make sure that if she is in pain, that is controlled asap. eta and weigh her while you are there to see if she is a good weight. -
Surely keeping your cat contained within your own property would prevent this? But there aren't any laws stating that cats HAVE to be contained to their own property... stupid, I know, but that's how it is. Keeping your dog from exercising it's prey drive in a public place is probably the best bet - whether that be a muzzle or other device, so be it. T. The cat laws depend where you live :)

I've had several claims with PetPlan for the same dog, continuing condition. Took about 3 or 4 weeks first time, been quicker follow up claims. I've never compared how much I got back to how much I spent, I was always happy with what I was reimbursed.
