  1. I only ever have 2 puppy shots given.
  2. how about you talk to some breeders rather then rescue who by their very nature have dogs from unsettled backgrounds. To be frank I think you are going to end up with big problems with this pup if you don't settle down and relax!
  3. He does not have separation anxiety, he is relaxed and passing the time.
  4. Why are you taking over your sister's dog? If you have concerns tell your sister, don't take her dog to the vets without her permission.
  5. I am positive some dogs choose their own heart person, whether they can realise it or not is another thing.
  6. Not above fudging the law though and worse - telling others they can do so. My greys aren't earmarked either but they aren't exempt from the muzzling law.
  7. oh well there are always the Albury shows later in Nov. :)

  10. are you going to the Murray Valley shows at Thurgoona next weekend?
  11. she already has a proven track record with how she regards any helpful advice. She's a nutter and doing greyhounds no favours at all.
  12. yep and they can cause death and serious injuries by causing accidents
  13. I am going to be blunt and say an agressive fence jumper is not a suitbale dog to be rehomed. Maybe have a read in the news section about the dog that jumped the fence and attacked a kid and then the father who was trying to save his son.

    Crate Soiling

go to an opshop and buy toddlers fleecy tops, cut the arms off and gather the excess around the ribs with a rubber band or similar. Go to spotlight and buy some fleecy and cut out a couple of coat shape pieces, machine or hand sew together and attach a couple of ties, no need for fancy at this age. You could even buy that iron on hemming stuff to join a couple of pieces together.

Look on ebay for coats. You can get cheap ones until she is full grown
  16. Sometimes small litters don't trigger labour and you need a C section.

    Dew Claws

You have a very weird vet who clearly knows nothing about purebred dogs. I have never heard of any vet refusing to do rear dew claws on newborn puppies. Some object to doing front ones so the breeders of breeds where they are removed, find vets who are happy to do them. Show dogs do not get desexed so you cannot wait until then to do dewclaws. I find it odd that your vet would object to the simple and quick removal or rear dew claws in babies but is happy to inflict more pain and much more healing time on the dogs by doing them when they are older. Rear dew claws are so easy to remove. They are usually barely attached by a tiny bit of skin, nothing like the front ones.
  18. If it is uncommon in the breed, nor is it something usually tested for, then I believe the breeder is not legally under any obligation. As we are dealing with a living creature sometimes we just have to accept that these things happen. I kept a dog of my own breeding who was very much a lemon but very much loved. He was PTS at 3 1/2 because of his issues.
  19. rear dew claws are very different to front ones and can cause lots of problems cause the whole 'toe' is loose and floppy, They are rarely tight up against the leg like front ones. Yeh I saw after they said only the back ones. Would have thought the breeder would have done it if they were they much trouble. I am really surprised the breeder didn't remove them. Much easier then removing the front ones.

    Dew Claws

Rear dew claws are very different to front ones. They are usually large and floppy and just held on by a strip of skin. Very easy to remove. I am surprised the breeder didn't do it.

  22. The chain doesn't keep your child away from him though. You need to keep a physical barrier between the two.
