PetPlan covered my dog for back problems/lameness even though that had been in her history 3 or 4 years ago. There had been no treatment in that area for at least 2 years before I insured her. I can't recall how long she had been insured before I needed to claim for back problems again. I actually insured her to cover things like bloat but the back problems have reared their ugly head.

Hope it all goes as well as possible for you all

Silver Eagle Cool Champions Cool Coats

Thanks, they look a little thick, though. I am after something thin and lightweight - which is why I am ruling out the Hurtta ones which are a good price. Swaying towards these for their price: Cool Runners Chamois Cooling Coats I love the chamois coats and so do my dogs -
I would PTS. What damage would he be doing to the other two legs while trying to recover from an op on the 3rd? 37 kilo's is a lot of dog and he's most likely around the 75 cm height with that weight, a big dog. I have a 7 year old greyhound with a spinal issue. In 2 weeks I have spent close to $3500 and possibly much more to come. If insurance doesn't cover it I am done, we will manage until we can't then PTS.

Yes, the dock diving I saw on TV was Australian. Came from the Gold Coast, I think (?). A bloke associated with the event seemed to be that fellow... Farmer Something or Other.... who was once on Big Brother. I tried to find video of it, but couldn't. Looked absolutely fantastic & the best spectator sport of all the dog sports IMO. Dogs love it! I bet your dogs would, too. Farmer Dave, he's in Sydney FB link

at least one of those photo's of a "blue heeler" is actually a stumpy tail and a lot of kelpie in those chocolate ones

if it's warm, it's a hose out the back, if cold then it's in the bath tub. Both my dogs hop in the bath when told and I have a couple of those non slip mats down for them to stand on. I use a hose attachment to the taps. They get bathed quite often for showing.

yes there are a few dodgy rescues saying their dogs don't have to be muzzled.

I had one that, while he wasn't a horror, didn't like a stranger mouthing him so did the same, went around and asked people to mouth him. Worked very quickly.

Is This 'right' Or 'ethical' For A Breeder To Do..
Rebanne replied to Roova's topic in General Dog Discussion
Greyhounds aren't routinely tested. Mine are because I came from GSD's. -
totally agree, I got a couple for my dogs and threw them out after the first chew session.

Ring the breeder, do not give the pup away to anyone. The breeder trusted you with the pup not some random they have never set eyes on. And take a big breath. Of course the pup is going to chase other animals, he is wanting to play, you have to teach him that he can't. Ring the breeder!

how do you know the cat was off it's own property?
-
Cats are allowed to be outside on their own property people.

if it is I'll be reporting it.

Ditto, don't you have an loyalty to your dog after seven years? and from me too, pretty disgusted with you SamMan How do any of you know that it is "essentially for convenience"? If the OP has to relocate (note he said "might"), he is getting in early and exploring alternatives. We all say that the dogs come first, but when over the barrel of perhaps a chance to make a huge step forward in one's chosen career, I'd like to see what we'd all do - in reality, not hypothetical. In reality the only way I would give up any of my pets would be if I couldn't care for them properly or, when my daughter was younger, if somehow they impacted on her quality of life.

sorry but seeing as how you have had parvo twice now at your home you need to make sure any dog coming to live with you has been vaccinated and vaccinated well and truly at least 10 days before bringing them home. And if friends want to visit with their dogs you should be warning them about the risk to their dogs and advise them to leave them at home.

What To Look For In A Reputable Breeder?
Rebanne replied to snusnu95's topic in General Dog Discussion
How old are you both? -
looked to me that the dog followed his handler in to protect him. He was a long way behind his buddy at the start.

when I was growing up they were always called Qld heelers, never heard them referred to as anything else until I joined an obedience club.

"beware Of Dog" Sign Makes You Liable?

I've still got one on my front porch that says Unleashed German Shepherd on Premises. My last Shep died 10 years ago.
