If you look at the link whippytails posted it does state that arrangement may be made to go and groom under the supervision of a staff member but did not mention the cost. I know and I still don't know if the cost is true or not.

It may be confusing that the temperature is not posted in centigrade however conversion shows that the dog does not have a high temperature & is within the normal range so there is no reason to be in a panic. As the dog seems to be acting normal, is not ill, & the owner is not an idiot & was merely asking if others have experienced a phantom I can't see the cause of great concern here. it's exactly as I posted last night before the OP said she was not a novice breeder. I was responding to the initial post and I still stick by it, better to be safe then sorry and risk losing your dog just for the sake of a consult fee.

I've had 4 greyhounds at once, they all fitted inside the house :-)

Someone on FB asked them and they were told $80 per half hour to groom and yes it was to have a staff member stand there and watch you. At this stage I don't know if it is true or not.

I would be taking her to the vet. Her temp is going up, she may have an infection. You don't sound very experienced so better to safe then sorry and maybe lose your girl.

A Link To " 8 Reasons Why Not To Shave Your Dogs Coat"
Rebanne replied to Mystiqview's topic in General Dog Discussion
Never say never. I clipped one of my GSDo in her last couple of years. She had a skin condition that required frequent washing. No groomers in our town then. And I possibly wouldn't have been able to afford them then. So clipped her back and washed her monthly to keep things under control. Easier to dry in winter and a dog coat kept her warm. In summer I was very aware of sunburn etc and took appropriate steps -
Thank you for the update :)

if the skin dies off and has to be removed use manuka honey on the wound. It's messy and can be hard to keep a bandage on but it did wonders for one of greyhounds who had over 100 stitches and a very large amount of skin die. Pipers story -

Borzoi In The New Big W Denim Ad?
Rebanne replied to RiverStar-Aura's topic in General Dog Discussion
I saw the ad a few minutes ago and wondered whose dogs. -
as I have said previously I do hate hearing fur babies or fur kids but I have no problem referring to my daughters dog as my Granddoggy. But I don't call her cats my Grandkitties.

why don't you check out the breeds pages? There are 8 puppy listings of Aussies and 3 have prices, one $750 and two at $800.

A friend and I used to do it every couple of months with our greyhounds. We would take a mat each and the boys would just lay down quietly at our feet. They were best mates and very relaxed. Once my boy died we tried it with one of my others but it just wasn't the same. While we enjoyed our catch up it was done mainly to promote the greys and you didn't need a big dog fidgeting around.

I hate it too. They are my dogs, not my children.

I'm going to try the drink bottle, it's very soft and I've cut two big holes in it, on opposite sides and ends. Once Fern gets the hang of it I will make new ones with smaller holes then most likely buy her a proper one. :D
-
smaller ones like Coke buddies are excellent , and the wider mouthed 600-700 ml energy drink ones; these can have fruit chunks /and hard boiled egg halves in as well ;) - I don't like the bigger ,more cylindrical ones , for your reason I have 600ml water bottles, I only want to distract Fern while we are leaving and for a few minutes afterwards. She played with plenty of bottles as a youngster.
-
I've got plenty of drink bottles, I was worried she might cut her mouth on them. I'll give it a go tomorrow.
-
don't think Fern would persist, I'd have to cut a bigger hole into it  Can't be too hard, she needs an instant reward as soon as we walk out the door.

I was nearly going to put this in the puppy forum but Fern is 7 and 1/2 years, so not quite a puppy anymore. Fern has had a few medical issues recently which means she now gets left behind when I take Warrior out. She is very food orientated and to date I've been chucking half a cup of dry food out in the back yard to keep her happy. But I think a treat toy would be better, particularly when she has to be inside. Fern is a greyhound and I've looked at the bob a lot and the kong wobbler. I would only be putting a max of one cup of dry food in it and I don't think she really needs the large size. I'd get large if she was a GSD but not for a greyhound. Something with an adjustable hole would be good for the different size dry food I get. So what's your dog's favourite treat toy? :D

when the bad outweighs the good, when your head says so, when you gut is tied up in knots trying to 2nd guess, when you think of how good a dog they have been and that they deserve to go as pain free as possible, with dignity. hugs Kavik and Zoe
