no problem but don't be scared of offal as its the bits with the most nutrients, especially liver and kidneys I always make sure any offal I feed has been frozen for atleast 3 days before feeding it as advised by the Vet that any nasties won't live through that.

I think she looks really fantastic Aussielover to me just looks like she has lovely strong muscles

It just means she is having a tad too much calcium I think. You could either increase the amount of meat or add some ground flaxseed to her dinner as its very high in fibre. an easy way to increase the meat portion would be to add (depending on the size of your dog) something like a sheep's heart or some kidney or liver

I got up at 2:30 in the morning last thursday to photograph the Lunar eclipse in minus temperatures. Came back covered in chillblains, complaetely exhausted, and with a cold

;) Bed wetting is not a behaviour exhibited by entire dogs anyway... I don't believe Kavik is referring to that. Desexed bitches can end up with a condition in which they can't hold their urine very well. its common for them to wee when lying down.

Using Human Insulin In Dogs

wow that's rally interesting. Thanks for the response Flash its quite different to humans then! But kind of the same too -
just wanted to update. I did an experiment this weekend. first I downloaded picasa. Then I took the photos that were a bit dark and used the "fill light" tool. And on a couple that the colour ws flat I used that satuartion tool. Then I took them to a different printers and got both the originals and the edited photos done. The originals are much better quality than at the other printers; and the ones i edited look really really good :D So I'm very excited now as I think I've worked out what sort of editing I need to do to get good prints AND I know what printer to take them too! everyone for all the great advise. It really helped

Using Human Insulin In Dogs
raineth replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I don't have a dog with Type 1 diabetes, but my daughter has it. I was just curious as to what blood testing you do with dogs? do you do several daily tests with a monitor, or do you rely more on the HBA1C? sorry I know that's off topic -
that's a beeaautiful picture ange

what a gorgeous dog! Firstly I think you are doing really well I don't think you are progessing slowly at all; and to me it sounds like most things are going in the direction you want them to. For jumping up you need to train an alternative behaviour and really reward this beahviour highly. Playing is a great way of building a bond between you and her and also making her think you are the bee's knees. It sounds to me though that it is just way too arousing to have you at her level playing. If you don't like her snapping, make the game end immediately when she does that. I would also be making the game end when you think her arousal is getting too high. I think by doing this you could easily teach her to tone it down a bit, as long as you are consistent.

hehe yep very cat-like Pointees -
Good on you Stutterfly Don't forget that even some registered breeders can be a little dodgy. You can use goodle, as well as the chihuhua forum here on dogsonline to research the health problems Chis can get and research what tests can be done on the parents so that you have the best chance of having a healthy pup Make sure the breeder you buy your pup from is doing the tests that should be done for Chis. Also I do personally always think its better to go to the breeders to pick the pup up so you can see the mum and see where pup was raised as well as being a great chance to ask the breeder any questions you may have. A good breeder will support you for the life of the dog

very sorry for your loss farewell little babies

She may have a problem that can't be picked up just yet at her age. I had a puppy with a temperament just like that and it was really really difficult. I was inexperienced too, and so with the combination of his temperament and my inexperience we ran into lots of problems. It was hugely stressful owning him and I'd often be kept awake at night trying to think about what I was doing wrong and analysing everything trying to get it right. It was a bit of a nightmare actually. My feeling atleast is that you should consider another home for her in which the ciricumstances are good for her and the people are experienced with dogs. Don't feel bad or guilty about going down that path. I can really see now that the wrong dog/owner combination causes a lot of stress for both dog and owner.

New To Here And A Few Pics Of My Beautiful Boy

He's beautiful! I love dobes too -
Well not to worry as I hear soon, to own pet will require council approval. To get approval you first have to take the Government mandated Pet Owners Class, Test and Investigation, which is 3 sessions a week for 12 weeks, conducted by the Greens party, the RSPCA and the Australian Association of Psychiatrist at a cost of $700.00. No refunds either. I hear only 10% of the people will be deemed psychologically fit, financially capable, child free and carbon neutral enough to own a pet. I hope you make the cut. I wasn't talking about laws. I was talking about a shift from the idea that getting a dog is standard practice - as is getting bored with that dog, and leaving it alone, unexercised in the backyard for the rest of its life. From what I see, doing exactly that is entirely acceptable and very common in most parts of Australia. In my subsurb, dogs who have their needs met (physical, mental emotional) are considered to be "spoiled". Friends of ours who are childless told us that we are the only could they've ever known to have kids and still have dogs being part of the family! that's pretty sad. And to me it means that there are many people out there with dogs, who shouldn't have dogs.
-
sounds exciting! What breeds are you looking into at the moment?
-
I would love to see a culture change in Australia in which dogs are valued more, and not seen as something every family needs. From what I see alot of people/families have dogs and these dogs are not having their needs met, and the family actually holds a level of resentment toward the dog/s. So I would like to see less dog ownership - but more quality dog ownership This would mean less of an impact on the environment as well as happier dogs.

one of my nifty fifty images my gorgeous little nephew who the day before cut his head open and had six stitches!

what one are you playing with (I mean the aperture or shutter speed)? yeah sorry different cameras will call those settings different names
-
Hi Miss LeiLani, I'm pretty new to photography... but I first went to the AV and the TV settings before going to full manual settings. The AV is an aperture priority mode in which you set the aperture and the camera sets the other aspects of exposure like shutter speed and ISO. Tv is where you set the shutter speed and the camera decides the other stuff. THese are good setting to learn about the differences aperture and shutter speed make to your photos. So I would go from Auto to one of those settings
