no blue merle is not a recognised colour at all actually. the colour is just plain 'merle' and has been recognised for quite some time :) sorry I should also say that by recognised I don't mean it is eligible to be shown. Probably shouldn't have used the word recognised actually.

Padraic, I think some dogs have a problem with my dog (in avatar) because she is just unusual to them. She is very large, covered in patches and has very pale blue eyes. I think basically it just freaks some dogs out if they haven't seen anything like that before.

So I am not meant to 'make a fuss' over my daughter being scratched on the stomach and my boy being chased, Yet it's ok for you to 'make a fuss' over a post on a forum that did not hurt you at all

Oh dear a child was jumped upon and scratched by a dog!!!! Gosh, better call an ambulance and contact the media. Sheeesh, really? Is she that much of a princess that it was an issue? LOL you really have no idea. My princess gives herself 4 + injections every day. And guess where she puts them... in her stomach. It's pretty battered and bruised most of the time without a dog jumping all over it. But really that's not the point. It is so irresponsible to let your dog run over and jump on children, especially when they are playing on play equipment. And it's pretty arrogant to think everyone desperately wants to interact with your dog even when they are minding their own business doing something else.

yep I am sick of it too! My little boy got chased by three off lead dogs yesterday. He saw that it was time to leave the park and began to run home and the three dogs that people had offlead (in an onlead area) chased him. The owners didn't even bother calling them back I am grateful that he wasn't scared and just knew to stop and be still. But still he said to me that he couldn't tell if they were friendly or not Also yesterday my daughter was playing with her friend at adiffernt playground and a guy stopped with his dog, took its collar off and told it 'go say hello to those kids over there'! The dog then proceeded to jump all pver them both and scratched my daughter's stomach doing so!!!

hey corvus, I think I kow what you're getting at. But sometimes we also need to take into consideration not just the effect on the particular dog we are training, we might need to take into account the safety or wellbeing of the people, or another dog, or the cat maybe (depending on what the behaviour is that we are trying to change).

The guard dogs around here never leave their yards. The one that attacked Brock was kept in a small run. what is the point of a guard dog in a small run? It's only good if someone wants to break into the run isn't it? Poor people, it woould have been terrifying, I hope both of them recover well from their injuries.

I was there with the OH for a bit this afternoon Flaves, I got cuddles from a scottie and an English setter, and admired a Crestie; and just generally stood around looking a bit awkward, but enjoying it all. I was looking out but I didn't see any GSDs!

oh wow I'd love to see a lakeland! I'm hoping to make it over this afternoon. have you been before Flaves? virtually every other year it has been bitterly cold and raining so we're off to a good start it seems :) Do you need more blankets or anything?

oh wow! That would be perfect tlc! So is that only on photoshop, not Lightroom? I have Lightroom, but not photoshop, would be very cool to have both. I tried using the brush first and then I used the spot removal. eta: o.k. after watching that in full I'm pretty sure it's not available in Lightroom :laugh: It's so cool though!

I am really partial to any white dogs, I just love the lighter colours, very dam hard to keep them clean though especially with a full coat and a park full of horse poo. Raineth, you have a dane right? For some reason I thought you had a lab? hey tlc yeah I have a Dane (rescue- so she's not your 'classical' looking Dane) and maybe you thought I had a lab because of Digby, he can look a bit labrador-like at times :)

yes my dog has (roughly) half a white face and half a black face. And it can make things very difficult! Also I have an extremely pale, fair-haired child and she has these lovely moments with our black dog Digby and I can never capture them properly because of their colouring!

Isn't it also ironic that she says he couldn't have cared for the dog because the dog got out, when she failed to secure the dog - he was able to get out of her car to give its true owner a big cuddle! Gees I hope that she doesn't win this latest case!
