  1. You are more than welcome to share my gazebo, Dotty, although everyone else will probably offer the same thing! We are a pretty friendly bunch! ;) At least come for Sunday. I was terrified (still am) for my first show, but it's not that bad. As Ashley said - just make it fun for your puppy. I think that's the biggest thing I've learnt at show training - and sometimes the hardest thing to remember. I am really trying with the babies I have at the moment! Come and have fun with us - even if you don't feel like entering at least bring Peach & watch for the day. Deb
  2. YEAH FRECKLES MORRISET 19TH and 20TH!! I got up this morning after restless nights sleep. I think I just found the reason why OK OK I'll go put enteries in now for Morriset. We can give my new trailer a whirl!!! Dog trailer......sounds so luxurious.....I've just made a barrier for inside the back of my car at the moment and I think that will have to do for now.
  3. I did that about 2ish years ago! ...But we don't foster anymore. Is it Belinda who does that still? We were there for hours too! I think you have to be under 12 for santa to come (or is it 10?!) ..Though...I'm sure you could pass for that lol. Guess I better get another pup if you all are going to have some..though..my one puppy will probably weigh all of your's put together ...Except your little fluffy Deb. Belinda is still there somewhere, but I met Bre and Katherine. Would you go for another Leo pup next time?
  4. You've all been having way too much fun on here tonight!!! I've just spent 3 1/2 hours at a Hunter Animal Rescue induction so I missed all the action here. I didn't notice that I was at the meeting for that long - it's pretty easy to sit around for that long talking about dogs! Is Santa going to be at Morisset? I'd better get my entries in - maybe he'll have my Christmas present with him! Sounds like you are all going to be busy juggling dogs in the New Year.....
  5. Hey Jess, I am doing both days with the min pin twins, and Bec is going with Toby too! I do think the utility ring is up the "top". I know the working dog ring is the furthest from anywhere!!!
  6. Yay, Dotty! That's great news! :mad And what a beautiful name. Welcome to the newbie thread, Peach! ;)
  7. Hi Michael, I'm back to showing babies at the moment, so no points yet! Look out in the New Year, though. I sold my little minor girl, Charm, as she really didn't enjoy showing and her pesky ears weren't going to stand up - so we are non-competitive again.... We are just happy to be learning along the way at the moment, and soaking up the glory of all those around us (hi Bec & Tobe!). Yay Jess - very happy to hear Leo went so well. You obviously didn't need to worry about that teeny little spot on his back! What a clever boy (and clever you). Sammy - also nice to meet you and Rebel & Kite today. I came home and slept for 3 hours this afternoon - I was exhausted!!! I did get jumped on by 3 kids during that 3 hours, though - and woke up to find 2 just-as-exhausted min pin babies next to me!
  8. Hi Tambaqui, Great to see you in this thread! Clancy is a lovely boy - and I do like the lead. Congrats on his wins so far! It sounds like the Vic min pin shows are great - I'm going to join the clubs but it is a bit far for me to travel to shows at this stage. Deb *waves* I am one as well showing a Miniature Pinscher! Although I don't show frequently and mostly showing at KCC park, but Clancy only had 6 Shows so far and picked up Minor in Group at his second show under a Min Pin Specialist Phillip Cross and his third show he picked up Minor in Breed and Runner Up Minor in Show (all with competition) at the United Pinscher Club of Victoria! So I'm very excited and happy with his progress and he is doing incredibly well! Here is the latest "stack" photo I have attempted and it! Mind you the lead he has on cost me $75! He is so full of himself, but he is an absolutely gorgeous boy!
  9. My min pin had two teeth exactly like that, with her adult teeth fully through. I was worried about food getting caught between them and causing disease so I had them out at the vet - a very quick easy procedure (did involved a general anaesthetic, though), and cost about $110. Her mouth looked so much better with them gone!
  10. Woo hoo!!!!! Congrats Tobe & Bec!!!! :p :) Toby was so cute in the group lineup. He stood in a lovely stack, and just wagged the tip of his tail when the judge was looking at him! It was great to be there to see it!
  11. The Ark - where do you find the show information date/places or is this info only for members? The shows are listed in the DogsNSW gazette each month. All members receive this gazette. You have to be a member to show your dog. I did put this up partly for you, Bec - as neither of us really seemed to know on Tuesday night I came home and checked! ;) Not sure I'll be able to make Bulahdelah now - there's just too much happening at home that day.
  12. Congratulations partipaws & kelpiesrule!! :D
  13. I hope it clears up for the weekend, Jess! Won't be the same without Leo! In answer to your earlier question, my pup's name is the same as her reg. name - "Aurea" (Au-ray-a). Just thought I'd stick with that, and amazingly the kids can remember it! It isn't too bad, it isn't pus-e (I don't know how to spell that lol, I typed it first with two s's and that definitely isn't right ) or gooey, seems to be starting to scab over. There's two of them, on his back. They are probably just the size of a 5c piece...I'm so glad I noticed them early though so they didn't get to ick. I am just bathing them of a night in salty water and in the mean time putting curash baby powder on them...anyone know if this is ok? Anything else I could be doing? He is on antibiotics aswell...didn't really want them but the vet insisted (I think I have a hard time saying no!). Next time i'll know what i'm doing though! If i'm still unsure about them tomorrow night i'm going to post photos so you'se can tell me what I should do! I agree about the heat, this week seems to be getting hotter and hotter. I am going to pass out in the middle of the ring ..I am definately ordering Leo a cool coat next pay.
  14. Not sure if this link is accessible to Dogs NSW members or not? http://www.dogsnsw.org.au/shows-trials There are schedules there for 2009 and now 2010. They don't give you all the details, but at least tell you what is on. Deb
  15. For anyone who's not sure, the shows at Hillsborough this weekend are as follows: Friday 13th Nov, 4pm - Maitland & Kurri District Kennel Club Saturday 14th Nov, 9am - Maitland & Kurri District Kennel Club Saturday 14th Nov, 3pm - Newcastle Terrier & Toy Club Sunday 15th Nov, 8.30am - Maitland & Kurri District Kennel Club (Everyone but me probably has that all straight, but I had no idea until I just looked up my entries....)
  16. Hi Sammy, I got mine for the Terrier & Toy show yesterday (with a note reminding me that sweepstakes must be on a separate entry form..... ). I'm at work at the moment though so can't tell you how many of what are entered, sorry! I haven't got mine for Maitland & Kurri shows yet. Deb
  17. I only went Sunday, Jess, so I didn't meet the Clumber. Did you meet the big blue boy greyhound, Roly? He is gorgeous! He almost looks like he has wolfhound in him, he's so big and has a longish silky coat for a greyhound. He's looking for a foster home too! Charm settled in really well with her new chi friend and was racing around their backyard yesterday so it sounds like she is going to have a great time. My new baby isn't vaccinated yet so she's going to be in hiding for a while. She is having her first needle on Wednesday, and a thorough vet check. She's only a wee little thing at the moment, but maybe when she grows up into a big lady dog she'll be able to look Leo in the eye! I'll be picking min pins from between her toes! I'll study up on how to post decent photos and put a pic of her on here. And Bec - she's ALL white!! :D Deb
  18. Pet Expo was just a big pet industry get-together at Rosehill Racecourse. I hadn't been before, and took Colour, our greyhound, down as an ambassador on the Greyhounds As Pets stand. According to the exhibitors I spoke to the crowds weren't all that good over the 3 days, some think it may have been partly due to the Dog World Games being held the week before. We had a good time, and there were some nifty showbags, rides for the kids etc. There were quite a few breed displays (Aussie Shepherds and Pugs had one, Min Pins did not, and didn't see any Bullmastiffs, Havs or spaniels other than cockers ), some obedience/dancing displays etc and a few stalls. Hopefully the Greyhounds as Pets org got some new foster carers/adopters from the three days.
  19. Well done, Caz. If anything, from the pound photo she looked a little tubby (the one I saw, anyway, where she was lying down) - I hope she comes back into shape a bit for you. She looks right at home, and it's lovely that you have left details for the previous owner to say that she is safe and loved.
  20. Hey everyone. Charm went to her new home today - they are lovely people and she appeared to be very happy with them (maybe because they were feeding her treats!). I think the quiet life will suit her, where big, scary people won't be poking and prodding her and asking to look at her teeth! We also picked up our Maremma bubby on the way home - she has travelled up from Victoria today so I'm sure she will sleep well tonight (with my bossy min pin, Changwe, for company). Her name is Lurgenglare Aurea and she is beautiful! I bumped into Nicky from show training down at Pet Expo today, and she said she'll be there next Tuesday night. Yay! Deb
  21. Sorry, Sammy - I hope that wasn't offensive! I just always wondered what pekes looked like under all that fluff! It's almost like getting a new family member, knowing of a new baby coming to the local toy ring! Can hardly wait!
  22. Wow, Sammy, that is going to be so exciting! Do pekes look like pugs if you shave them?
  23. She is so cute, Dotty!!! Look forward to meeting you both! What's her registered name?
