  1. Hello all, We are looking at having our first AI litter later in the year, and are a bit torn as to who we will use for the testing/insemination. Frozen Puppies have handled the importation of the semen, and it is currently stored with them. As we are in the Newcastle region we have the option of either continuing with Frozen Puppies and having the testing/insemination done there, or transferring the semen to Belmont Animal Hospital to have the testing/procedure done there. Can anyone with recent experience with the above facilities (ie. in the past 2 months specifically, due to personnel changes) please let us know your results (by PM if preferred)? Thank you!
  2. Yep - they are great! I wish I had thought of something like that for my poor old boy who was put to sleep a couple of years ago. He would wee on EVERYTHING. I currently use them on my own entire min pin and an older foster boy who was desexed very late in life. I bought the first ones which have a sort of elastic fit around the edges, however I made some myself last week out of polar fleece and am really happy with the way they stay on. You have to put a sanitary pad on the inner surface (against the dog's skin). For the really hard cases I use a human incontinence pad such as Poise.
  3. No, sorry Aziah! I'm just doing the EP show on the Saturday. I think my next shows after that will be the Moree ones at Gunnedah. I would have loved to do the Coonabarabran ones too, but it's a bit soon for me to get things organised. I really need to have a good look at what is coming up - poor Stella is only entered in one show so far. Chester is 12 months old on the 27th of this month, so hopefully he can get a few shows in during June & July. Dotty - Bec and I will tarp for you. Ash might even help.
  4. Yep, Ash. I'm heading in about lunch time tomorrow (as long as it isn't raining!!). If it's raining I'm not sure what I am going to do. Bloody clouds go away!!
  5. What's that second one again?? Careful you don't miss your ring call if you get that stuck in your head.
  6. Great photos. I've only seen a couple of foxhounds around shows, and they are very eye-catching dogs. It's funny how Rupert looks all distinguished in those photos - until he lets his tongue hang out, or he goes for a zoomie and then you can see the clown inside!
  7. Big congrats Aziah & Carsten - a well-deserved title! :p
  8. Ash, I haven't entered that - had looked at it but not done anything. Has it closed yet? I think that's Moree Kennel Club? You and your mum need a terrier now so that you have something to do on your way up from Toys to Hounds and Gundogs!
  9. Not a Samoyed fan :D But thank you extra special much for the compliment then ;) He's 100% house dog as I plan to always have my Sammies! Makes it easy to keep them white. Even when he spends his day times outside playing in the dirt, it brushes out easily. The yellow staining comes from those on concrete that urinate, it dries, and then they lie on the concrete. Those that live in grass/dirt yards generally come up sparkling white after a bath. Also remember that some Samoyeds are biscuit or have biscuit colouring (often more so as they age, say, over 7 years) and that might appear "dirty" but is actually something that is part of the breed and is becoming increasingly rare due to the concept that they should all be snow white! ... or so i've been told! All I know is that I, myself, have an inside dog who is pure white Do you have white carpet and white lounges, Bindii?? Fletcher is looking very nice! How old is he now? I told Greg today that Stella may always be a house dog also as she is so little, but he assures me I'll change my mind once the coat starts coming out. We picked up our doggie trailer today - it is beautiful, and BIG! It is 4 berth but I think it is actually longer than my horse float as it just fits in the shed. We had a little issue as it had a different electrical plug to what was on the back of our car but Greg organised an adaptor and off we went. The lady who owned it previously had Vislas, and we met one that belonged to her friend - :driving: :D Think I could stretch myself over 3 rings??? Here are a couple of pics of Stella taken at my Mum & Dad's today. We've got her first show on Friday week, so have lots of training to do. And my baby boy, Dragon, is in Minors this coming weekend. All growed up!
  10. She's a cutie, Gumnut!! Those Vic newbie numbers are rising.....
  11. No From she who wont be joining the snuggie gang. You are going to be SOOOOO cold. But probably fashionably acceptable, unlike the snuggie-huggers.
  12. I'm getting one too!!! Big congratulations to LOTG and Lola - well done! Any pics??
  13. Hi Ash The PR show is at Erskine Park. Good work Kite and Niles! Our next show is at Hillsborough Friday week (?) and Saturday, then the Erskine Park one, and that's all I've entered so far.
  14. I haven't actually asked if mine are welcome at work, but have taken them in a few times regardless. I do bookkeeping for a smallish firm, and really a dog under my desk doesn't cause too many problems. I have also had to work from home a couple of times in the last few weeks as it is too hard to decide where to put all the doggies when it is raining. My employers have been fine with one dog at a time, but I don't think they'd be too keen on having 2 min pins, a greyhound, an Aussie Shepherd pup and an aged Malt x in the top office area.
  15. Hey everybody! Anybody there?? How did Niles go yesterday, Ash? Hope he enjoyed his first show! Chester picked up 19 points over the weekend - very useful, but boring as he was the only adult min pin entered. He is really maturing and is getting much better at stacking during the group lineup so we are having a lot of fun. Dragon was beautifully-behaved as usual, but didn't catch any judges' eyes this weekend so just won his class of 1 each day. The ground itself was a bit rough on the dogs - on Friday Dragon had an enormous cat head burr in his back paw which I pulled out straight away, but on Saturday the judge yelled out "he's limping, dear" when he was going around the ring. When I checked his foot there was a a big tear in one of his little pads. On the same day poor Chester was bitten on his front paw by a green ant in the middle of the group lineup. He bit me all the way out of the ring because he thought I was doing something to hurt him. I put some Stop Itch cream on it straight away and took him in for the Puppy In Group lineup, where he stood the whole time on 3 legs. So I had two lame dogs on the same day. Both are fine now, but it was a bit of a worry for the rest of the weekend dodging prickles and ants. Every time Chester's paw touched a rough bit of grass he'd jump and flick his foot around until he realised he was okay. The weather was lovely up there, and the show was run very well (and the selection of cakes & slices at the canteen was amazing!) - all over and done with (for we losers, anyway) by about 1pm each day. The big news for us is that we are picking up a dog trailer next weekend!!!! We have to travel back up to Tamworth (then to Armidale) to pick it up, but the owner has very generously offered to deliver it that far for us from Brisbane so it makes it a reasonable trip. I am really looking forward to getting it - especially having just driven to Tamworth and back with 3 kids and 6 dogs in the car. Is anyone doing the Dogs NSW PR show on Saturday of the long weekend (the 12th, I think)? I've got Dragon, Stella and Chester entered.
  16. ...and don't forget Knox, Wicki & Avery ;) Ever's last show in baby will be Coffs Harbournot this weekend but the following then we're having a break through June. Are they your new bubbas??? I'll have to check out that Corgi thread.... Ever is such a young lady now - definitely time for her to be in the points! They are but I haven't mentioned them anywhere else, 6 weeks today but looking good! Ever is such a wicked little person, time for her to behave Very exciting!!! I can't believe Ever is wicked. You must have her mixed up with someone else's naughty baby. ETA: I love the names! You come up with fantastic names.

  18. Dragon's last weekend in Baby too! Where is Cuteso showing? We will be at Manilla. I can't believe how quickly the babies have grown up! Lucky we still have Jazz, and then Niles & Stella coming through. I'm going to send Jess an email and see what she's up to.
  19. Where are the pics of Niles??? I take it show training wasn't on tonight??
  20. Truly beautiful shots, everyone. They are all stunning! I would like a macro lens now too please!
