Don't let Raaf fool you.... he can be totally evil too!!
-
Leave it with me, and I will take one tomorrow and upload it Silly me not to provide photos!!

I appreciate your concern, but believe me.... there is NO way that I would jeopadise Tingle's safety in any way... He is 100% safe, and contained in my VERY pet safe and friendly house with escape proof fencing!! ;) And to answer your question... he is 9 weeks old...
-
I probably need to add .... that, at Tingles age, there is absolutely NO way that he can escape the yard.... fences are all 100% gap-less and 6 ft high, and we have a fully enclosed (sides/floor/roof) undercover enclosure that is about 6m x 3m that is Tingles :D So Tingle really is very safe (SP)

Hey My 7 month old GSD boy has just managed to AMAZE me!!!!!! About 1 1/2 weeks ago, we welcomed into our home a little ginger kitten boy! Raaf has been wonderful with him... well.... kinda LOL.... He DOES think that the kitten is there purely for his enjoyment and entertainment, but treats the kitten with as much gentleness as a 7 month old GSD boy can muster!!!! The kitten adores him, and will often be sighted trying to snuggle up to a sleeping Raaf to join in with the nap!! Tonight, Tingle (the kitten) went "missing" in the backyard for the first time. I needed to find him, as it was time to bring him in for the night. I was quite a bit later than usual, so was quite dark at this stage, and there was no way I could even begin to see him!!!! So I started calling for him (knowing full well that he would not respond, but it made me feel better lol). And here is where the amazement began!!!!.... Raaf looked at me with that sheppie stare, tilted his head, (awww so cute) and "yapped" at me, then turned around, and dashed off outside. I could hear him rustling under the bushes, and a few moments later, he returned with the kitten in his mouth, and gently dropped him at my feet!!!! OMG!!!! I am just sooooo touched and amazed by this display!!! That Raaf focused, listened, and comprehended what it was I was doing, and then found a way to "help".... I am just sooooo proud!! GOOD BOY RAAFI!!!!

Date Has Been Set For Bringing My New Girl Home!

YAY!!!! Great news!! And yup photos are a must!!! -
Raaf is NOT subtle in telling me what he wants!!! He just barks at me with lovely, loud high pitched WOOFS!!!! He barks with his toy at my feet.... or barks at me and runs to the door if he wants out.... or jumps on my bed and licks my face and BARKS at me again when he wants me to wake up.... Im SUCH a slave LOL
-
Raaf has a comfy bed on the floor right next to my bed, a crate made up in the hallway just outside my door, and the run of the house to choose where he would like to sleep... but he always sleeps with me on the bed LOL with his head on the pillow . He does wait to be invited tho, but who could resist those deep GSD eyes when he rests his head on the bed and looks up at me with this woeful expression He has it all worked out nicely for himself...

I'm starting to notice this alot with my (only) 5 month old GSD... he is hardly intimidating!!! Even apart from his obvious "puppy-ness", he is a well-behaved, happy and friendly boy... but I still have people that steer clear of us giving us worried looks LOL (whether he is off lead at the park or on the lead). I haven't noticed any particular "demographic" doing it more tho. I also have many ppl coming up saying what a wonderful dog he is too and can they please pat him... It does "upset" me a little... I would much rather ppl take each dog on a dog by dog basis... but then we are kinda getting into the BSL thing which I dont want to do edited for spelling

Wow - I thought they were booked out in September!!!! A week to go and you still got in. I KNOW!!! In my email from Alison, she said that there were "still a couple of places left"... maybe some ppl couldnt make it and were decent enough to let them know... but... I'm in!!!!

YAY!! Another Toowoombite!! A car pool sounds great!
-
YAY!!! I've just booked my spot!!!! So.... if any one needs a lift down from Toowoomba, let me know... you will have to share a very small car with a GSD and me tho ;) so I can't fit another dog in :D

Oh poor little pup!! I'm absolutely no help, but just wanted to pass on my best wishes...

RIP poor sweet girl....

thank you sooo much guys!! really appreciate the help and have learnt heaps about parsley!!
-
Hey So... my terror head of an 8 week old GSD puppy has decided that he quite likes nibbling on the parsley plant I have growing near the back door. He is an inside dog, but whenever we go out to play or pee he almost always tries to have a chew. Is it something that is good for them or bad for them?? Thanks

Exercises With 8 Week Old Pup
RaafGSD replied to RaafGSD's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Thanks everyone! I really appreciate your helps! My new pup came home on Saturday (gorgeous little man he is too ;) ) and while I will be new to trialling, I am soooo excited to be doing it, and very eager to do all the right groundwork and learn as much as possible while he is young. FUNdamentals :D is very important!! -
Hi Just wanting some great "exercises/methods" that are suitable for a now 8 week old pup that will help to create a solid foundation for later Obedience and Agility trialling. IS there any thing "extra" that needs to be done at this age other than the "normal" training eg general manners, sit, come, etc etc... Despite having dogs all my life, I will be new to Obedience etc so would love some little bits of advice! Thanks in advance!!
