  1. Does your friend know where the dogs came from that attacked his? Has he filed a complaint with the police and council? Personally I would like to see dog owners held responsible for damage caused by their pets.
  2. I was about to say that was where I bought mine
  3. I think you have enough on your hands and should not give yourself any more stress at this time
  4. I thought you only believed in feeding raw and Vets All Natural? I'd be interested in what thinking switched you to tinned food
  5. Gosh your memory is good. It was around June 2005 - I cannot believe it was that long ago. Such a bummer that thread is gone! SC - the nutshell version was that H was dumped in the overnight box at Wyong pound. They were going to put him down because of his condition but I asked to give him a chance. He took about 7 months to properly rehab and we were going to rehome him but ended up adopting him ourselves. Loads of DOL'ers pulled togethor to help out with his care. Our vet was great as were Nutrience, Dermcare ad Bayer. Here is his "original" look;
  6. That's in complete contradiction to everything they advertise? I'd be taking it up with the insurance ombudsman
  7. Here you go - http://www.k9force.net/index.html?row2col2=leashes.html Mine still look like new 6 years later
  8. Just wondering what online printing resources you all use and how well the prints come back. I keep getting emails from Snapfish about special deals but wonder what the quality is like? It's not for anything fancy - just my personal snapshots that I put on my office wall and stuff
  9. Have a look at your docs. I am flat stick at work today but I quickly scanned their PDS and could not see anything limiting consultations. You need to find your documentation to work out where you stand
  10. Did they send you a new document at renewal informing you of the changes? You can make a complaint to the Insurance Ombudsman depending on the circs - no charge to make one The Insurer pays
  11. I've not posted any photos for a long long time and figured those who know his history (and contributed to his care) might be interested in seeing how the big guy is. These were taken yesterday He thanks everyone for helping him ;)
  12. Child free and dog friendly - you've got me covered already ;) I think my biggest concern is always quality fencing
  13. I have them. My dogue and ridgeback used to take great delight in grabbing a corner each and ripping up their beds I think I bought them about 18 months ago? Anyways they are still as good as new. What Sas mentioned above is true, they are noisy and I also found it took my guys probably 3 - 4 days to get used to them because of the noise and also whilst the air inside them settled down. But they love them now. As an outside bed I love them, I wouldn't have them indoors - way too much noise
  14. I'll add a thumbs up for Hugh as well - we loved using him but use someone closer to Tuggerah
  15. Maybe contact your local paper so other dog owners in the area can be warned about her - she sounds dangerous!
  16. And another update This is no longer working for Tina and over the last two weeks her incontinence has been returning. Not quite as bad as before but enough that it is noticeable, and must be uncomfortable for her I saw a different vet today on another issue and raised this as well. Looks like we are going to try Stribestrol (sp??). She's having some surgery tomorrow so will start the new drugs once she is back home
  17. Absolutely Bashing dogs with bars, twisting their legs to try and break them and tying them to a concrete post in 30 degree heat is COMPLETELY rational behaviour
  18. They are fantastic PF - I really cannot rave enough about them. I have easily bought at least 60 ( ) books from them and the most I ever waited for a book was two weeks but the norm is for it to be here in a week The guys at the Post Office roll their eyes at me now, but I've even got them onto the site
  19. Yep I ALWAYS use Book Depo these days - only exception is if they do not have the book I want No idea why UK postage is so much faster than US?????? I ordered a DVD from a UK Equestrian site and it was here in 3 days!
  20. Looking at the gallery pics I am assuming the neigbour took that pic before he rescued him. Smart move on his part I guess What a ^&*()%(. The owner better get jail time over this!!! Boof looks a gorgeous happy boy in his other photos - if I wasn't full up to the brim I would put my hand up to take him on and let him live out his days in luxury
  21. I personally don;t have an issue with it They might have to find a breed that is independent and doesn't mind being left alone but other than that it would be fine. As long as they interact with it when they get home etc etc My guys are sometimes left from 5am - 9pm when I work down in the office. But they pretty much live indoors with us when we are home so they seem to cope OK with the days where they are left outside
  22. Oh gosh that would have been scary! Poor old dear. It's very important to teach the dogs how to get in and out of the pool- and I would never leave one with young puppies. Went out yesterday evening... the clamshell was set up under the carport with about 2 inches of water... was going to let Ziva have a paddle (helping her in and out as she's in whelp and a bit fat lol), but just was I walked over I heard buzzing and looked in and there were maybe a dozen bees drowned, plus another dozen or so 'attacking' the toy that was in the pool? It was bizarre and scary. Needless to say, Ziva did NOT get her swim!!! Finally starting to cool down here- strong winds though. Ick. Not to mention I will never forget the story from years ago where a DOL'er had a clam shell in their yard (r a friend of theirs?) and the wind came up and the shell ended up trapping the small dog underneath
  23. Well I hope so but I think the kennel girl was the one who I got passed over to on the phone who gave me a blunt "yeah he's fine" with a stop-wasting-my-time tone of voice It's xmas and they are operating at full capacity - the busiest time of the year. Maybe cut the poor worker some slack and realize she was most likely run off her feet. If he had never been boarded before and you were so concerned then maybe next time consider a trial run of one night in a less busy period
