  1. Oh what a horrid feeling for you! I wouldn't stress too much, its not like you were letting your dogs run off leash. You've done everything you could do and you know what pups are like, they squeal at anything. I would bet the pup has put his foot under the fence and your guy has put his paw on it or something. I've seen my dogs do the same thing if the cats are in another room and they stick their paws under the door playing. The pup may have just tried to pull his paw up and not been able? Let us know how you get on and I'd probably suggest to them that they block up the fence on their side to prevent this sort of thing happening.
  2. So even the State Government thinks the park has a future. That 5k might be a drop in the ocean compared to what S & G are going to rip out of the RSPCA. The big winners in this one are going to be the RSPCA lawyers. Who sit on the board! Hey I wonder who determines what cases have legs and which don't.....? There a rumble in the wind, let's hope this case is the one that gets big attention and starts that ball rolling for change. I would be very happy to see the RSPCA have it's power for prosecution removed from it..... that would be a good start
  3. I am thinking a "rebranding" for want of a better word. I am tipping a new name that would more reflect Steve and his training principles. After all we all know there is no force in the methods he teaches... Anyway that's my guess Do I get something if I am right - like a special prize or something?
  4. I've referred 3 people to you in the last two weeks Steve. Hopefully the front page is not going to make them think you are no longer?
  5. Or restraint of trade..... but not my area of expertise. Worth a call to the ACCC though
  6. Go up and see Steve at K9 Force. Maybe you are not tapping into the right drive and thats why the results are slow to come. Steve can have a look and tell you what method is going to get you the results. Well that's what I would do
  7. How the hell do they get your email address? I get their spam as well!
  8. Maybe Charlie nicked off for a little holiday Your not a dag, I sent this lady a message straight away! :D maybe he did! He is chipped as a malamute and we bought him as a malamute (through petlink long long before we knew of rescue yada yada) But we think maybe malamute x samoyed or even malamute x border collie He has the malamute attitude and woo woo , he's quite smart and learns things very quickly Really hard to know - he is a momma's boy though!
  9. Oooooh this happened to me a few months ago. I was looking at a horsey site and then saw a family shot and was like - bugger me that's my dog!! I've always thought Charlie was a fairly rare looking dog but seems he has a look alike This is Charlie, the red and white one in the photo (attached) and check out the dog on this page - http://www.saviorsaddlerack.com/about.html I am such a dag I actually emailed them :D ;)
  10. A "not for profit" (if that's what they are) doesn't mean people don't get paid for the work they do though, WP, does it? If that were the case it would be might hard to find people who would be able to do the job required, as they themselves need to work to put food on their own tables. Aren't assistance dogs in training for something like 2 years? Yes - you are right. I guess I live in a bubble and never realised people paid for these dogs
  11. I don't think people bash assistance dogs. I do think that some people abuse the label of assistance dog to allow them to take their dgs places where others can't. But that is something that needs to be addressed at a legislative level I guess? $29,000 for a dog? I thought most of these orgs were not for profit? I think charging someone that amount of money for an assistance dog is obscene. It may work out that is costs that much to train the dog, but it flys in the face of what assistance dogs are - does that make sense?
  12. We have a pet craft links thread, if you want to share how you learnt to make these I reckon it would be appreciated! http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...60&start=60

  14. Can anyone tell me the website link for the place at Tuggerah that sells vet mat and the trampoline beds. They often go to shows.... I am having a complete mental blank today - I thought it was Beds r Us - but that is not working
  15. Bugger off, if people don't report unaaceptable behaviour, people are not held accountable for it. Dog parks are well known for being the home to irresponsible owners as it is. +1 what a stupid comment, so you condone people allowing their dogs to attack and getting away with it?
  16. Yuck - i really do not like snakes (sorry snake people) Only time I have ever come across a snake was a dead one in a horse paddock - one of the horses must have trampled it, which in itself was scary as it was a red belly and horse was lucky not to get bitten
  17. Report it Describe location time of day description of lady description of dogs You never know she might be a regular Hope the furkids are Ok ;)
  18. This is from Tatelina' sig Free Snake Relocation in Sydney Call David 0422 924 629
  19. Snooza D1000 but it will take her a day or two to get used to it (whilst the air comes out of it) and the material can be a bit noisy But they have withstood a dogue and a ridgy who like to play tug of war with their beds
  20. I hope they find the woman, I hope they publish her name and photo in the paper I hope he sues her ass I hope the guide dog people sue her ass if the guide dog is no longer able to work Time for the irresponsible dog owners to start paying - hit em where it hurts and the message might finally get through
