For those in Brisbane the company can be found here http://www.naturalicious.com.au/details.asp?ID=Food001&Category=Holistic%20Dog%20Food&SubCategory=Dog%20Food They sell directly to the public. The 20kg bag to the public is $89 and they are located in Coopers Plains.

Depending on where abouts on the southside you are. The dog park near Logan hospital has separate parks for Large dogs and small dogs which I think is fantastic. As for kennels I havent used any yet but have heard a few good reports from customers about a kennel at Beenleigh (cant think of the name) but also Animal World at Cornubia. Hope this helps.

Puppies Down In Pasterns - Any Advice?
atua replied to Kirty's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I agree with the vitamin c. My Gordon started to go down in pasterns and her feet started to splay when she was 4 months. Spoke with a few breeders in what I could do and they recommended river pebbles for her to run on to help tighten the feet and vitamin c tablets. What they dont need they apparently wee out. -
Frontline has bought out a new product called Frontline original. Just thought I would share for those that may not know already

Good luck with Clyde. Is there any chance that both surgeries can be combined as that may help reduce costs. I wasnt too impressed when I got her back. I was most worried and upset. The bruising stayed there for a long time and she doesnt even have a tattoo in her ear. Still to this day she yelps if you touch anywhere near where she was desexed however I am not sure if that is from mental trauma or if it really still sore.

I had a dog with a broken tooth (the big canine teeth on the bottom side) I rescued him out of the pound and it was already broken when I got him. I ended up getting it taken out and luckily I did because it had formed an abcess. He was a 5 year old Staffy. I am glad I opted for the surgery as I would have never known about the abcess. Best of luck with your dog.

another fan of Furkids Vet here. I see PetVax at Underwood has good prices on desexing but after getting my girl done there I will not recommend them. She came out still bleeding from between her stitches

Help Needed With Grooming A Maltese/shitzu
atua replied to Gamby's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I agree with using a conditioner not just a shampoo. Do you like her still fluffy? I recommend either a Guide Comb #3 or #4 or even #5. This will ensure that you still have some length that is managable to maintain and also still the fluffy look. If you do decide to go to a groomer let them know that you are not sure what length you would prefer so get them to start off higher because you can take hair off but cant put it back on and show them the rough length that you would like with your fingers. Because it is winter it will be best to make sure you have length that you are satisfied with instead of them just guessing otherwise it can make the whole thing a horrible experience. Talk to other dog owners of who they recommend or even ask on here. If you are thinking about doing it yourself make sure you get a #30 blade and the stainless steel guidecomb set as the plastic ones are a real pain in the butt I have found. Hope this information is of some help and please keep us updated on how you get on -
Gordon Setters too Please
-
I have a Gordon Setter. She came from a registered breeder after a long wait. I paid $900 for my girl and was more than happy with the price I paid for her. I was happy to pay more. Her parents are both health tested and passed with flying colours. In NSW and other states I believe they are around $1200 a puppy which is still cheaper than I initially expected. There was no price difference between males and females. I had my girl on order for 3 years and was after a female due to personal preference. A few of the other breeders I approached wouldnt let me get a female because I was a new "showy" and told me a male would be a better show dog for me but just did not suit what I was looking for.
