great shots again everyone.Really like the mountain goat in B+W.Krislin Piri wants to come to a Whippet fun day :)she gets frowned upon at obedience for running a muck,I think she'd fit right in i just love seeing dog pics in full flight. Kitti so many pigeons around here keeps her amused. this one has mad a nest under the porch.

It's is awesome for bokeh: and nice shots cant wait,got mine today but have to wait till xmas to use it.have u ever done the cardboard cut out shape for the bokeh?i tried it with the 18-55 but couldn't get it to work.I dont think the A is wide enough on that lens.

no butterfly...got a bug instead.

I like this - its telling the story of the flower and not the butterfly. well done.can never sneak up on butterflies,they're always to quick for me.

so bright! lovn that red coat! had a go of the 50mm f1.8 today and put my order in for xmas..is it good for bokeh??the stock 18-55 doesnt seem to work to well for me.

I'm am totally enjoying this thread and all the great shots you've all inspired me to get off my butt and take some photos and today I changed my settings to RAW..why haven't I done this earlier I'm finding taking shots under exposed and tweaking blacks,exposure,fill light in lightroom are producing some good results.thanks for the comments and keep those photos coming. f4.5 1/320sec ISO100 On this waterfall pic - did you focus on the top of the fall, hence you've got that water in focus and the rest as the blur? Just curious :-) you got it ;) ..changed the the auto focus point selection area to just the top dot.

taday I went for a drive to fitzroy falls and shot in Raw for the first time. a view through the foliage.

I really like this shot, love how the black is lifted by the white background and the white of his body then fades. Looks really stylish. love this one as well...very serious "tomorrow i will take over the world"

the 40d/50d is discontinued...the 60d was released this year and ranges between the 550 and the 7d.there are a few kit options available depending on what lens/lenses you want.18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS and 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS lenses with camera retail around $2100 or18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens $2400.some other options are available as well. havnt had a play of it yet but seems a nice camera.:D
