Poop, I missed it, I was cranky so forgot to record it

My puppy will take my pink thongs. He will take one at a time, generally leaves the left one (his favourite) under the Diosma, and the right one under the washing line I try to leave them in my room otherwise whoosh, in comes the thong stealer! He's only put one chew mark in them thankfully. He borrows OH's work socks too.. but he destroys my socks

How Did Your Pet Get Its Name?
Bundyburger replied to crazyboutdogz's topic in General Dog Discussion
Diesel cos he smelt like it when OH brought him home apparently. Bundy got Bundy because we got desperate and he's the right colour I wanted to call him Turbo, but I wasn't allowed and it really wouldn't have suited! -
It's a dog thing not a pug thing, most dogs can put their hackles up
-
I love when my OH grabs the puppy (who he calls the red terror) and wrestles with him so he can plant kisses on the puppy's head! The puppy tends to retaliate by covering OH with licks and they spend ages just playing.. Normally ends up with OH saying "Oh I do love you I suppose" as he kisses Bundy before finishing the game

It happens. Keep an eye on it though, my bitch had a lump after a vac and hers just grew. Turned out they'd stuffed the injection up and when it was drained, all that came out was vaccine! It took about 2 months for it to go away. We didn't use that vet again and haven't had any problems since It's not a common thing to happen that's for sure.

Any Security Dog Handlers Here?

You might have more luck putting it in general -
Call the company in the morning.

I hope she finds one of my husbands socks so I can do it to him :D Wonder if that will work with my OH who leaves his socks out too We're lucky ours don't get buried they just get left under a particular plant! We are slowly remembering to leave things out of his way.. eg thongs were in my room, no touching for 3 weeks. They were in the lounge no more than 2 minutes (and I'd turned my back) and as was the usual habit, the left one was out under the plant

Dogs And Bones.. Your Thoughts?
Bundyburger replied to Bundyburger's topic in General Dog Discussion
The solution to that according to BB's is to just not give the dog a bone when there may be children present. They will be getting someone else when they can afford it though as there are leadership problems in other areas too that are improving but perhaps the methods aren't right. PF, you can't call him away with something else if he has a bone, he doesn't listen. -
Dogs And Bones.. Your Thoughts?
Bundyburger replied to Bundyburger's topic in General Dog Discussion
The professional is the one saying to leave the dog alone until he's finished which is a problem as she wants to be able to take the bone away if needed, and the professional cost a fair bit of money to get out in the first place (for that problem and others) that she cannot justify getting someone else at the moment(and neither could I after outlaying that much for someone who simply says to leave the dog alone!) The dog in question is about 4-5yrs I believe. -
When you give your dog a bone, do you expect to be able to remove the bone at any stage without a reaction eg snarling or growling? Both of our dogs(including the puppy) we can take bones/food from them at any stage without a reaction, not so much as a peep. My friend has a dog who growls and is quite intimidating when he has a bone and she is afraid she will be bitten if she tries to take it away. This to me is not acceptable and she SHOULD be able to take the food away at any point without a reaction to the dog. Advice she recieved from a trainer(who's methods I don't like as I had shoddy experience with another francise under the same banner) was to just give the dog the bone and leave it alone because he growls if she goes near him when he has the bone Am I the only one that thinks this is wrong? I really feel for her but have no advice on how she can fix the problem as he is making her scared when he behaves like that. You can take his food away from him no problems, but a bone forget it! What are others thoughts? Any advice I can give my friend?

Change the door handles. If he's learnt to open one it won't be long till he starts practicing on the others

Anyone Thinking Of Buying A Houndbag?
Bundyburger replied to 4 Paws's topic in General Dog Discussion
They have Doog walkie belts too for $30, how does that compare? -
My vet does the 12 and 16wks as a 2in one at 10 weeks now. My puppy is 4 months old and he hasn't met 100 people yet, but he's one of the happiest well socialised puppies i've seen in a while. I wouldn't be so concerned about the number of people met, more the quality and the exposure for the dog.

Ours went everywhere with us at 8 weeks. We just stayed clear of other dogs that weren't family dogs, parks and beaches.

Does Anyone Choose Not To Crate Train?
Bundyburger replied to BooBooBear's topic in General Dog Discussion
BBB what does your breeder recommend? I PM'd you too but you can ignore that if you want -
I just have a piece of vetbed in mine at the moment and the serial pest hasn't even managed that one yet. It has a rubbery type base with a fluffy top and he cannot do anything other than squish it in a corner!

Does Anyone Choose Not To Crate Train?
Bundyburger replied to BooBooBear's topic in General Dog Discussion
Er, thats a puppy who hasn't been outside long enough to empty his bladder PROPERLY.. nothing to do with being distressed about being crated! Speaking from experience here. Until we started using the pen/crate a lot more and staying outside with him longer we had the same thing happening, now he's on his way to being housetrained. Of course he's going to hate the pen at first, he can't be out running around causing mayhem!! So it needs to be made a nicer place for him. You need to make it a safe comfy place for puppy to go. We pen ours during the day with toys etc, and pop him in his crate at night with a cover and a kong to chew(not that he ever does). For the first month he slept in our room and he settled instantly. He's now out in the lounge room at night and he grumbles a bit but soon settles when he realises he's getting ignored unless it's a desperate "I NEED TO PEE NOWW" whinge(which only ever happens at 1.30am), any other time of night he gets ignored.. 9/10 we have a velcro puppy who is wherever we are.. he sleeps on the couch and dog beds around the house more than he does in his pen or crate. -
Warrantee Claim... On The Doggie
Bundyburger replied to voloclydes's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have a 4mth old hunting dog who prefers sleeping to pinging around like an energiser bunny.. I think he's broken. He doesn't even register that a tennis ball is for chasing, it's simply for carrying in his books! -
I would wait, besides the breeder may not sell you the other puppy since you already have a an 8wk old.. I wouldn't put the old dog through it.. and realisitcally do you have time for two?

*waves at Kim* Just call them or send an email for a quote as it depends on a few factors. They are generally really prompt in responding to enquiries. Plus considering yours will be a Bernese, that will differ a tad from a SBT

Update. Bundy is fine, we are pretty confident that the offending thing was a piece of plastic from god knows where.. It certainly wasn't from our house so maybe it came over the fence. He's on a bland diet for a few days and precautionary antibiotics. As he was bouncing around last night she wasn't concerned at all and he's back to normal today.
