  1. Some nights ours don't care and don't beg.. otherwise they'll sit in front of us a few metres away. The little one will drool all over the floor, and the other doesn't. We don't feed from our plates as a rule, but occasionally they'll be thrown a scrap. Mostly if there's dog friendly left overs it goes in their bowls with their dinner.
  2. We take them to our beach house... but aside from that we just don't take holidays!!! It'd be nice to get an 'adults only' break from them once in a while though The dogs will be farmed out to respective rellies one day when we can actually be convinced to leave them behind.
  3. Diesel licks a lot.. he'll lick your legs.. arms, anything. It gets really annoying, so we don't let him do it much. Bundy will only lick when he's really excited, like when I come home from work, and then it's only my hand. If I don't pay attention he'll go for my face though
  4. Our kelpie recently had a 'button tumour' removed(don't ask me what the proper word is, I can't pronounce it let alone spell it ) from his leg. It came up in a space of 4 days. He was put on steroids for a week, which stopped it growing more. As it was still there at the end of the week, he was booked in to have it removed. It's a month to the day since it appeared and he's right as rain. It was nothing serious, but obviously the vets didn't want to leave it there, as it'd cause complications if it got bigger. Apparently these types of tumours are very common in younger active dogs. I'm not saying that's what it is with your girl, but it's not necessarily going to be something bad either Hopefully it's just something simple
  5. Yep.. and some breeders won't sell you a dog if you already have a young puppy.. as sometimes people don't manage their time, then oh whooops what'd we do getting a second one, back to the breeder it goes.
  6. If your dog isn't outside during the day, take the collar off, it'll help. Our old foxie had a similar problem. Ours don't wear collars anymore unless we're taking them away, or we leave them outside. They have to wear them when walking though, as if they don't have their tags on and the council see us without them we'll get fined.
  7. Half a grape won't do anything i wouldn't think.. its if they ate kgs and kgs of grapes every day there'd be a problem. My oldie used to get her incontinence pills in grapes every day, never any problems.
  8. They look great.. a contrast to my blimpy kelpie He's not allowed walks for a few months and is driving us mad!
  9. Sure, sorry. I was just trying to show the frame of her. I have a couple but they don't show the rest of her very well, I'm doing well aren't I Maybe I'm coming across wrong here. I don't want her bulky, a keg, tank or anything else! I just didn't think it was normal for ribs to be showing She's lovely. A dog is a good weight if you can see the last couple of ribs but not see the spine, but I'm sure you've worked that out by now She looks really good. I must admit, I had trouble with that at first as well, and thought my boy had to be fatter than he is... but it didn't take me long after he got home to realise he was doing good for his age and height and didn't need more weight
  10. She could probably do with a little bit of weight, but she's far from an RSPCA case. Can we get a full body shot of her so we can see her face too?
  11. I agree with this. I'd do it with our two old dogs, but the younger two? No way. It's not worth the risk.
  12. There's a post on this in the news section i think :D
  13. I know we're all devoted dog owners who like our dogs inside.. but this is making me wonder what those who have outside dogs do??? How would they deal with this and make sure it all settled down???
  14. And my Dane... and my Vizsla... You'd be horrified if you saw him, and he's only a tiny bit underweight, but is shiny, healthy and really happy.
  15. Brighton Dog beach would be your best bet probably but it's up the other way.. I know a few people who take their dogs to Mordialloc but that tends to be at night.
  16. Depends on the dog really.. My bitch couldn't be more laid back unless she was sleeping. However my young boy does tend to be likened to an energiser bunny on speed every now and then.. I would also say they're very 'in your face' with both other dogs and people, well mine are anyway. Our poor kelpie never gets a break from being annoyed unless they're sleeping.
  17. Something like this would surely mean that the dog just wouldn't want to go for walks at all.. not the dog being willing to walk with one person but not another. Sounds like you need to rebuild her trust and she got a bit scared. You need to try and make it exciting and fun for her so she can look past the fear. Taking her somewhere different is good
  18. I'd get him into a routine :D I forgot to mention, with ours, after their post dinner toilet stop, they are shut in the house until the 'last call' before bed. This is to give them a chance to chill and unwind (as they go stupid) before bed.
  19. What about those of us who are too far away to physically donate stuff S??
  20. No I haven't, but I have synchronised peeing and pooping with my two if that counts as mirroring behaviour? It happens nearly every time they go outside
  21. Where is the wound? Can you get a cone from the vet? They're only about $25 to purchase depending on the size you need... We have 2 or 3 floating around the house but they weren't the right size so had to go buy another recently
  22. Our two get taken out at 7 after their dinner (and if we don't they whinge the house down lol even if they've just gone) and then they get another loo break at 9pm before bed. They always go without fail. We also limit their water from dinner time. It's there, but if they start to drink heaps it's taken away (unless it's really hot). Bundy has slept through the night since 10 weeks. If Bundy wakes up whinging before it's time to get up, I wait a few minutes and he usually stops. If he's busting then he'll keep going, so then I get up to let him out. This only tends to happen when our routine changes... and our Kelpie is the same, he'll sleep through, except times like now, when it's been raining and he has stiches so we don't force him out in t he rain.. so he then wakes us up in the middle of the night to go out. To teach Bundy to go to the toilet on command, when he was doing his business we'd just say "toilet". We also connected it with "toilet time" for when it's time for them to go outside. He just kinda worked it out on his own. What have you changed that could possibly be getting him to do this?
  23. What a silly comment, of course it won't. A) You'll be dead, and B) You'll be dead so you won't know if they do or not. What a sad photo
