  1. Ohh I forgot, Bundy also gets Bugs, or Bugger... because he was a little bugger.... so "Bugs" has stuck
  2. Bundy - Burger, Bundle, Red rat, Monster (he answers to this ), puppy, midget, fart features (he farts waaaaaay too much) Wigglebutt when he's doing his vizsla happy dance. He sometimes even gets 'blue boy' because he was the blue boy in the litter and wears a blue collar now lol. Diesel - Squeezy, Squeeze, Dieseydog, Weasel, Squeezel, sooky lala, terror and fatguts (he is very solid for a kelpie even though he's energetic. They both get twitface when they're being stupid
  3. Put the poop in the hole. I saved up a weeks worth and dumped it in the biggest hole by the fence our V had dug.. he hasn't touched it since. It also stopped him digging the other small one he started the day OH was too slow to let him inside. He has not dug a hole in 2 months now He buries things in the mulch pile out the back instead :p
  4. My Vizsla has a white "T" on his chest and white hairs on his chin and is red. He gets called an Amstaff on a regular basis, even though he doesn't look like one at all People say it's because he has white and they don't normally have as much as he does, if any. Edit - Jo, that's AWFUL!!! Please tell me you gave the pound grief over that one.
  5. If you do a search on "raw feeding" or BARF that will probably give you some good threads to start with re raw.
  6. Totally agree with this. When we brought our pup home, he ate one chicken neck the night he came home, one the following morning, and then he STOPPED for the next 8-9 days maybe longer, I don't remember. Now, he eats his food as soon as it's put in front of him, but he still eats s-l-o-w-l-y which drives us batty They're smart enough to work out if they strike they get good stuff straight up, so they learn just as quick they need to eat whats in front of them.
  7. She's only getting paid $6 a day, but the company is being paid $35 It sounds really dodgy, i'd be taking it further...
  8. The younger one here will run out, do his business and stand in the shade. The kelpie (who's primarily black) will flop at the bottom of the stairs and lie in the heat. Go figure.
  9. But Bundy doesn't have a brain... he's speshul I'll see how he goes next Sunday and report back
  10. I'm having a similar battle at the moment... I think my boy would have better focus at flyball but I'm not sure.. and we have an agility workshop next week to see how we go. I always wanted to do agility with him but now I'm not so sure. He's turning into a ball crazy fiend the older he gets I just don't know anywhere near me that does flyball.
  11. I wanted to name Bundy Darren, so I could have "Darren the Dog" and then he could be nicknamed "Feral" but OH said no At least we didn't get a girl... then I would've threatened to to call her Minxy or Madigliana
  12. My young dog (very fit and lean) pants for ages after being exercised ..... some dogs just do. I reckon the dog in question has been fence running while everyone was at the school drop off. Our kelpie takes ages to stop panting too. It wasn't particularly hot last night, but he was still puffing half an hour after the younger one had stopped.
  13. You should try and plan a first birthday party for them. We did that with our first dog and it was awesome fun... with my current V, we had a 6mth party with my boy and his sister and other assorted V's... It was great!!
  14. There's really no need to double post threads It clogs up the board unnecessarily, particularly when you've already got an answer in your other one :D
  15. Sounds like she's excited when playing with her toys. I wouldn't be too concerned. As to the other barking, if you ignore her does she stop or keep going? Our pup went through similar phases, and if we reacted to him he'd just bark more, but if we just laughed it off and ignored him he was fine. He doesn't bark much at all anymore.
  16. Why? The dog certainly doesn't care! That he has a name is important, what that name is is purely for our benefit only. Exactly Haven.. PM, if the dog was called "Deefer" would you still have a problem with it? My dog answers to nearly *everything* we call him including his name.. so I really don't think he cares as long as he gets love! I agree that the names are for our benefits.
  17. Yes I have been told!! Yers.. be very careful. I didn't heed Lynn's warning one day after I'd used some, and thought naaa, my dogs don't benchsurf.. WRONG. The kelpie surfed and stole an entire packet of perfect pooch ;)
  18. Well if he's barking when you're out because there's a possum, there isn't much you can do other than leave him in the house. We lock ours in the back room, or if we're out for dinner we crate the young one and leave the older one to free roam.
  19. Do the kids chase the puppy when he takes things? It sounds like he thinks it's a game. The kids need to not chase the pup, and if he is grabbing clothes while they run and play, keep them seperated, or teach the kids to just stand still and not move, whilst you reprimand the pup and take pup away from the fun.
  20. Oh dear is all I have to say... An airhorn? Seriously... He's a fool.
  21. Where are the 3 or 5 kilo bags available from? I'm in Gisborne (Vic) and want to get some to try for my 2. This, but I'm in bentleigh east This could be the good inbetween dog food for us...
  22. I think they'd both look AWFUL!! I'd put a nice dark brown or that coppery colour on him i think.
