I am sorry Esky...sad.

I know I probably sound glib, but I love all types of dogs, big and small. That said and pathetic for a woman of my age, I am rather scared of large dogs..pathetic I know, but probably traced back to a childhood incident. I can't move past that and have tried with my sister's large dogs. Probably feel more comfortable then, with little dogs, such as my pom x and maltese.... but love all of 'em.

Esky, I am sure that no-one would think anything of you other than that you are a kind, compassionate person doing the right thing by your dog. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm absolutely thinking of you Esky and all you are going through at the moment...with every heartache you have, you have also been given such a blessing by knowing these little ones....we are all so much richer for having dogs in our lives.

every time I see a new posting on here, I hope for the best....Prydenjoy, my best hopes are with you and for your little girl's safe return

One thing I've noticed from these postings, other than general going to bed time...it's nearly always a female dog going to bed...wonder if that means anything?

seems my girl is an early bird compared with some of your dogs..but if its beauty sleep she's getting, then it's paying off!

Last night, as with almost every night, at around 7pm our little girl literally puts herself to bed; off she waddles into our bedroom, to position herself under our bed... to dream the night away. It doesn’t matter what OH or I am doing, who is in the house, what time we go to bed..she always goes off at about the same time. I just wondered if she’s unique, or whether other dogs put themselves to bed and if so, with what sort of rituals?

At my ripe old age (!) I can't believe how naive I am...I honestly assumed, no testicles...no fun. Thanks all for your answers...now I know!

He might not be but I obviously am! I'm wondering if it's a sexual thing, or more about domination...oh well...live and learn!

I've ummed and aahhed about raising this, but really would appreciate an answer. My little maltese has been de-sexed since early age... yet, when he play fights with my female pom cross (who is also desexed)....well, let's just say he sometimes gets physically very excited. This is probably the stupidest question on here..but what is making his bit down below (sorry, I'm a whimp) grow??

I happen to have the most beautiful little girl in the world, fiercely loyal, but independent, gorgeous and beautifully natured (unless she doesn't like you!)..she's a Pom...like her 'mother' coincidentally, but that's another story!

my girl hates/is terrified of men's beards...difficult when my 81 year old dad sports a nice bushy beard...but I can't help wondering what formed that reaction...

every time I walk through the front door, even after ten minutes away..my two are ecstatic....like to think it's my charm..but probably not.

I thought I was being a bit slow..not finding anything offensive about a dog on a phone...glad it's been clarified.

my dogs' favourite rainy day activity is sleeping! Like mother .... like doggies.

Life really sucks sometimes, i.e that there have to be homeless anybodies in the real world..but who are we, any of us, to say, what makes a good relationship..I think you have to find love where you can and if these homeless humans and animals find it with each other...then let them be - with a bit of 'help' of course on the side.
