  4. Hi , I am looking for some advice on what sort of small breed puppy to get for a companion to my border collie. He is an outside dog, and so will the new puppy, however much time is spent with him, with daily outings to the beach. I was thinking maybe a cavalier king charles, but any suggestions would be great. Thanks
  5. Hi, I was after some tips on weight loss for my border collie. He is 4 years old, and on a diet of pedigree dry and wet food. I used to feed him advance but found he had a upset tummy from it. He has ballooned a bit in his weight to 31 kg, which is way to heavy for a border. I need to get him down to 25kg. He gets plenty of exercise, so I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. He is fairly inactive during the day when we work, and I am looking at getting a second border to companion him. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  6. Cool thanks, Do you guys think that it is better to have one border or two? Thanks
  7. Do you have pictures? How old? and what is he/she like? Thanks
  8. Hi, I'm looking for a companion dog for my 4 year old border collie. I would like another border, but not necessirily a puppy. If any breeders have dogs which you think may be suitable please let me know. I live at the beach, so daily runs along the beach are definetly supplied!!!! I have a smallish backyard, but my BC gets plenty of exercise!! Thanks
  9. Hi, I have a 3 yo Pure Bred Border Collie, who is a wonderful dog, but as with all borders has his little quirks (eg, hates windscreen wipers - as seen on doctor harry, hates bikes etc) We have recently moved to the beach where he has a smaller backyard but is exercised daily off-lead at the beach which he loves. He is great during the day, sleeps alot, hardly makes a sound. However night times are different, he barks (not continuously) at the cats next door which are locked in the shed at night, right next door. This is not an excessive bark, however we don't want to get neighbours on the wrong side. He has a kennel outside which he does sleep in but it is open, so I'm thinking he still feels the need to protect because he is not enclosed in. What I have been doing is allowing him to sleep in the back of the car in the garage, to give him that "den" like feeling. We never here boo from him when he's in there. Obviiously this is not ideal but works for now. I'm thinking that a crate (with cover) would be ideal for him to remain outside but have that secure feeling so he doesn't feel the need to protect (bark). Any thoughts anyone can give me would be great.
