  1. I was going to suggest the old jumper as well. When our puppies go to their new homes it is always with a cloth with their mother and siblings scent on it, it works really well.
  2. One of our Schipperke pups went to live with an older GSD bitch and that worked out really well. The pup was only about 2Kg when she left here and the GSD was fantastic with her.
  3. I have registered pups on the main register when I have been trying to decide whether to run on one or more pups. Don't know about other states but in Victoria you can sign the back of the main register papers with conditions such as "not to be bred from" which is what I did in one case. BTW, all of my pups are registered and are sold as such with no extra cost, there is also no difference in price between main or limited register for pups we sell. IMHO a pup's papers are it's birth certificate and should go with the pup.
  4. I was right for once with the predicted time of Wilma coming in to season so decided not to enter anyone. Good thing too, lots of orders to get out so worked all weekend.
  5. Thanks BB, wonder why the Schipp entry was so low.
  6. Right now all of them are my saviours, when times get tough and you look in to those eyes and see unconditional love you know it's all worthwhile. I couldn't live without them and as we don't have children each and every one of them are a real part of our family.
  7. Have used it once when we had an older pup to sell, unfortunately those that rang had never heard of the breed and wanted to know what sort of a cross breed it was but I got the chance to educate some people on the breed.
  8. We love getting emails and photos of our puppies as they grow up and some of our puppy buyers have ended up becoming good friends over the years. Every one of our puppy buyers keep in touch even if it's only an email a couple of times a year. It's great having that contact and seeing how our babies have grown up and how much they are loved.
  9. Oh yuck, just when we were starting to relax. There is a theory that snakes are only seen in months with an R in them, that's just been debunked
  10. That's the plan!!! Although the human clothes have usually got dog hair on them as well
  11. Oh boy, can I relate to that. Fortunately all of our males get along well and the other girls are fine.
  12. Two of our girls hate each other with a passion, used to be best buddies but some how it turned ugly. They can't even be trusted through a fence, they will grab each other and won't let go. Stresses me out big time and we have to be on guard the whole time with them to make sure they are well seperated. One started it and the other took it for a long time before fighting back and now it's war unfortunately.
  13. Some males are fantastic at judging exactly when the girls are ready and won't bother showing any excitement until then. One of our bitches only mates on day 17 and that's it
  14. When we have picked up pups from the airport they have a two hour trip home after their plane flight and they are usually only eight weeks old.
  15. I do an empty load with white vinegar in the water after a dog load, lucky our water tank is full at this time of year!!!
  16. Our fingers are crossed for a speedy return. One of our schipps went missing whilst in Tassie back in September last year and although he seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth I am forever grateful to the people down there that put the word out that he was missing. Wherever you are Demon, we will always miss you and love you. Our fingers and toes are crossed for a better outcome for you.
  17. Beautifully said by Jed, couldn't agree more. Our usual litter size is 4 pups, do we make a profit? Not likely!!!
  18. Same for us, email as a starting point then I like to chat to prospective buyers especially if they have not had our breed before.
  19. Schipperkes oh we have 9 :p ;) ;) Norwegin Bohound :D
  20. Hi we use the check chain when working and normal collars when just going for a walk. :p
