  1. Thanks all, I have booked in with Gary on Thursday. The dog has pulled up alot better today but will still take her in to get checked out to make sure she isn't out anywhere else
  2. There is Gary Pitt at Morayfield - 5497 8378 - I took my girl to him and he certainly seemed to know what he was talking about - flexible hours and very reasonable rates Thanks, will give him a call, pretty much a stones throw from me.
  3. Hi I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for a chiro on the Sunshine Coast I have a 13 month old stafford and she was playing with a mates dog another stafford at the beach yesterday, both pretty much full bore the whole time, and she was ok whilst playing but after a nanny nap when we got home she pulled up a bit proppy on her back leg, she could put weight on it but chose not to. She is a lot better today but still a bit wary of putting her leg down totally. She doesn't react much when you touch her back leg so I am hoping that its nothing broken/fractured, maybe just a strain/sprain. I was over on the stafford forum and one of the posters mentioned maybe a trip to a chiro with some rest was on the cards. any advice would be greatly appreciated cheers Jason
  4. hehehe. she was in love with her new D Man tug toy, it was her first day with it, so pretty sure you could say it was a winner love the pic too Busterlove, he looks very alert to something
  5. thought I would have a play around with some cropping and editing with silky pix, things you do on a Sunday when you are bored
  6. here you go some more evidence they can do a bit of everything. http://www.myspace.com/caninus :D
  7. no worries this is my first proper camera all my others have been cheap and nasty phone ones or old point and click ones. I got mine from digi direct they have a pretty good selection and pretty sure you can compare models from memory or that may have been teds camera house
  8. I am no expert but I just bought a panasonic fz 35, basically had it explained to me its a step before a DSLR, so far its been pretty easy to use, it is 12 megapixel 18x optical zoom pretty sure is 34mm wide angle, and other bells and whistles which I havent worked out what they do yet, like if you have a panasonic plasma you can use the vierra link to play your slide show or any video you shoot (it shoots in HD apparently) http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/FZ35/FZ35A.HTM this is a review dunno if it helps.
  9. I remember calling energex and letting them know that a dog was living at my premises now, and the lady asked what sort of dog and when I said staffy she started laughing saying the meter reader would be in more danger of being licked to death.
  10. :D there wasn't much love being shown by the little monster when I took the pics though he was coiled around that branch like that as he had just bitten me twice, I just missed out on getting a pic with his mouth open though thankfully he's not fully grown yet
  11. Jessie at 8 weeks Jessie 12 months
  12. ok so I thought I would put some of the theory I read on here into practice instead of just clicking, so please be gentle. I mucked around with the manual settings on a panasonic DMC FZ35 that I have only just bought. settings were F3.6 1/80 ISO400 for this pic of my little girl Jessie
  13. Just looked in this part of the forum today love the pic of the little snakey. Is this a Palmerston Jungle? No, she's a QLD coastal carpet python ah ok she is lovely love the patterns on her. I have a bredli about 11 months old now
  14. Just looked in this part of the forum today love the pic of the little snakey. Is this a Palmerston Jungle? love all the other pics too, I have finally learnt what all the numbers and stuff means on my camera now, what can I say I am a guy and I don't read manuals.
  15. maybe we can issue an NOI and get him to wear a pretty bright collar too when out in public
  16. congrats Kye, he looks like a happy boy.
  17. If there's a dangerous breed, if there's a restricted dog, and it's running along the street, with no collar, and not muzzled, that dog will be taken in by council and put down," Mr Brumby said. Maybe I have misread but don't think he is talking about a person walking their dog that is assumably compliant with the laws. If you have a declared/restictricted dog out roaming or not reg then while it is harsh you have no one to blame but yourself.
  18. sounds abit like my little girl jessie when she was around the same age. I used to try the turn you back on her trick when she was mucking up and nipping, jumping etc. All she used to do was jump up and nip me on the ass :D. She calmed down though.... eventually. And the payoff is that when they get out of the little bugger stage they are awesome dogs Jess is vocal where she wants to let you know that she is ready for a walk, play and all my other staffords have been the same its fun to have a chat to them and they talk back. One thing with making jessie drop ,i found worked was to have her on the lead and guide her down with the treat under her nose from a sit and when she is laying step on the lead so she cant get up, only took a few times and she worked it out. They are pretty smart cookies when they want to be.
  19. It's on a show with koshie as a host, you shouldn't be surprised by stupid comments That guy is a total douche
  20. damn right staffords are perfect angels
  21. If she's no longer wearing it Staffords, you are one of the few. Well done. My pet peeve is seeing people walk their dogs on a halti and flexi lead.. WTF?? is that like a bungee type cable? That would kind of defeat the purpose silly people. She is almost off the halti I have it loosened quite alot now. Sometimes she is good without it sometimes not when I get into a area with lots of people the stafford friend to everyone comes out and she wants to say hello to everyone and she pulls abit :p Retractable/extendable lead. ah ok never understood those things I would be too worried it would give way and the dog would get away. Much prefer an off Leash area if she wants a run around or walk away from me

  23. Or you could train him NOT to pull - better for him, better for you :D Any dog can be taught that. yep agree I meant the halti as a training tool not to use forever should have been clearer oops Staffords, in over 10 years of time with my local dog club, I can think of a handful of dogs whose owners have weaned them off a halti. For most dogs, once it goes on, it's on for life. Dogs do learn to pull on them too. With a young dog, and training, there is no reason why a flat or at worst a martingale collar can't do the job. fair enough this is the first dog I have used one on and has worked with her but obviously not all are the same can't argue with experience
