Great for non chewers! I shudder to think of how far my lot could spread the beans, and how many years it would take to clean up.

See every one loves their dog.......even if they are trained to bite drinks. Me thinks winter in snow season might go a little differently if they herded drunks home with dogs!:-) :-)

What Is The Longest Time You've Not Seen Your Dog?
voloclydes replied to Lisey's topic in General Dog Discussion
10 or 11 weeks while we went round edge of vic sa wa and nt.... was meant to be about 13 or so weeks... i was getting over it and then the uncle dies.. perfect excuse to come home. they were fine, step son had them and they had a great time. this last holiday for 10 days round vic we took them... made it a bit hard due to the heat but i liked it better OH hates taking them... all he talks about is the work... um it was his choice to get up at 5am each day, i did not make him. -
um i gave up on soft crates when the dally rolled all round the floor in his soft crate! :D we have light weight mesh ones.

yes melza.... this whole mess makes me wonder why? today when the xgirl friend walk out in front of my car deliberately... the x seems so messed up since she drove drunk and rolled her car, only her sort walk away... seems even tho they have a grim situation things are looking promising... very promising. my mate is swinging from the chandelier... if only she had one... mmmmwwwwwaaa melza

that was a local vet.... they are going to approach the vet.... sorry but i got one fact wrong they have had the dog since 2004. so i think 8 she was a dumpee on them already chipped. is ok tho... this lady treats her dog as a child and a solution will be found.... not sure how, but we will do something...oh the council dated there letter 20 jan... and said 28 days from the date of the letter they got the letter the day i posted... they have asked or offered temp assessing... but council are saying they won't give out the name or contact and that my friend has to contact them to arrange it. there is another council nearby so they called the ranger there to find out the assessors details... they said they cannot give names etc either! :banghead: i am happy to name our shire its the snowy river shire in nsw! oh another question? can a ranger demand access to your yard to scan your dogs? all my friends dogs are chipped but he could not find them... and is issuing a non chipped fine... ummmm if the dogs don't leave the yard why come and start something? would you believe the vet that chipped said dogs has gone to germany for 2 more weeks! sorry to upset souff with shorthand...

dog is now 10...i am sure... no other complaints... apart from the xgf whom the council ranger has admitted she made the complaints... i have been in sydney and asked my friend to come in here and read up your advice... i have told her she only has 3-4 weeks to fight this and so i am not sure what is happening. the dog is never muzzled as they never allow her out of the yard! due to the restrictions... i have no idea how she will go changing destery from pure to xbred as the did not do the chipping she was chipped... and i am under the impression they were given her... no one wanted her...just because its a rural area and dogs are a dime a dozen. the ranger has said he will pursue her complaint to the court, due to this fact these sorts of dogs should not exist. i personally get the feeling he is going threw the process and as my friend is just an ordinary person coucil will win. even tho dog has never harmed any one in more than 10years of her life, in fact i would go further to say my jrt is more likely to bite some one.... oh yeah thats right he has! :o all our small dogs would.

the dog lives in an 8ft fenced area. no way has the dog ever escaped. Even when their house was burgled. They also have the street facing gate locked... People have to enter the property via a fenced double gate system. Ranger has admitted without the 1 lone ex gf complaint..... They would not be taking action, they have no other reason...... I think a letter writing and video evidence is the way to go. Vet i think will also stand on dog side, the xgf knows my friend has no children and her dogs are her life hence the reporting.... Pretty low imo!

What's Wrong About Giving Dogs Human Names?
voloclydes replied to W Sibs's topic in General Dog Discussion
well by tradition clydedales have human names... an old fashioned thing.. apart for the normal starlight and baldy. at home we have lester, ned, matilda, freya and gayle. traditionally the pre fix is in front... non horse people don't understand prefix so i just say horses have their last (family name) first.... even 5yo kids can work that one out... you can relasitcally call your dog any thing you like... so long as its a sookie wookie snuggley buggley tone.... they can't give a crapola... -
Question About Dogsnsw Membership...
voloclydes replied to rachael12's topic in General Dog Discussion
sounds ok for the starting out person. is this sort of memebership what you have for obedience trials? -
thanks for the names.... they are going to the police to get the officer who investigated all the calls to them to write a statement... so when i get home thursday i will contact the people mentioned above.

there is an adult woman as well who lets her own dogs attack the fence as well. the drama is she only does it randomly which is hard... every day for a week and then not for a couple of weeks. pratt.

its pretty much the whole thing but gf had not lived with them.... she is reporting them to police for all sorts of things not just the dog... the only behaviour thing is the dog protecting and barking at the fence... a bunch of the local kids think it fun to hit the fence and bait the dog. the dog is just to upset his sister my friend... how does she go about temp testing? who does em? the local ranger before all this had met the dog and found her a lovely dog and complimented my friend on her well behaved dog.

ok so i have a friends her and her bro share a house. her bro is not the smartest tool in the shed and has had a gf.... who is very loopy. they are now finished but she is reporting them to the police( 20times in one weekend alone) and council repeatedly. the council ranger has taken the ex gf on board and as one of their dogs has been labeled pit bull on her microchipping(which was done before they were given her).... the ranger is now taking court action to seize the dog.... dog is NOT a puppie but 10 yo old. never had so much as a complaint against her apart from barking at fence as people pass...(this because small town small minded people and kids bait the dog to do so as they pass!) what we need is some advice how to take this to court, as my jrt are more dangerous than this dog. the ranger has said if they can get a dog assessor to assess her breed they might have a chance of fighting this in court.

Who Has Kids, And How Involved Are They?
voloclydes replied to Rosaline's topic in General Dog Discussion
sounds pretty much like our house... except its a rope and ball not a frisbee... they do tend to take up the couch eat and pass wind... together... not much difference at all... oh the 14yo does feed the 6 dogs every day by being reminded... each and every day. -
its ok we were just traveling and there were far too many people... the dog leader (me) finds crowds too much... ;)

Who Has Kids, And How Involved Are They?
voloclydes replied to Rosaline's topic in General Dog Discussion
my son has not known a life without dogs... so he is involved in most stuff. recently the jrt was in a coma in the vet for snake bite... it was a do we give the dog another shot of anti venom or have christmas. it was a known thing... we can do the treatment and still not have a dog or do it and not have christmas. the bill at that stage was about 3k... he voted for the treatment... and i think he would again. so even tho often our dogs are retreads... as in some one will decide they don't want the dog and want us to take it that day or within a few days... they are treated like family, not as disposable. -
Excellent! She might just surprise you at just how good she can be in comp. Go Sophie!!! Souff well i guess last place is better than sleeping on the couch..... its better than her being pts as was suggested when woodbyne rescued her... lets hope she does.... if she does i am sure you will read about it souff... cause i won't be able to keep me fingers still.

if i find something my spots won't eat i guess i can post it.... might take a while..... they chew first and ask questions later. but then leo can catch a worm tablet and swallow it whole without a care in the world... sophie would not only eat other poopies but her own while still warm... -
I've noticed this a lot on DOL. People tend to think that problem dogs, hyper dogs, dog aggressive dogs, escapees etc etc all belong on a farm. I think there's more temptation to do wrong in rural areas than there are in the burbs. ;) ;) omg don't blow that myth out of the water.... its how we got all our dogs... useless owners who though dog needed more space and a farm would be ideal... hence we beat every other idiot who phoned emailed or enquired just because we have a real farm. if you blow the myth how do i get another great dog at a great price! but i was unsuitable for a rescue cause 6ft colour bond was the requirement. :D Ah, so you are "that" real farm! :D Seriously, there are others too. Several are long standing contacts of Souff and because they understand how most dogs tick, the re-homed dogs have always settled in well. Biggest problem has been snakes. And, just like you, they don't have the 6ft colour bond fence .... Souff yeah i don't need a fence.... i have couch! usually with no room for humans to sit.... sophie my toughest rehome is laying next to me licking her paws to cool herself.... now if i look sideways then she will pile in my lap and this post, ok so she knocked the computer down battery fell out and by some mircle the post was still here! she her first day here she refused to come... was terrified... and i though she would always be an aloof dog... now she wants to be with us... she will line up for a face rub, belly rub and any attention going. now i am going to try to get her doing comp obedience... it might be an epic fail but who knows... all dogs that have a chance are worth working with.... um maybe i should shut up now.... we got sophie by me knowing not when to shut up... but i will never regret it... never.

we went down to mornington at christmas and could not see a dog beach... we had a dog with a ripped claw and took her for a paddle... the ranger was seen as we were leaving the beach... we coped a warning... as the beach was sign posted as off lead after 9pm and before 7am... so we refused to stay there over night and left... too many nasty humans for my liking... like the kids killing sea cucumbers and the mother allowed them to go dive for ones in bay.... not just the washed up ones.
