How do they have a greater burden? There is no difference between an ethical ANKC breeder and an MDBA breeder. Only that the MDBA breeder member has coughed up more money to be a member of an extra organisation. if we use selling to pet shops, ankc breeders can sell to PIAA pet shops and mdba members can't so therefore a greater burden is placed on mdba members as they are not allowed to sell to pet shops which reduces a point of sale for them just because something is allowed does not mean people take advantage of it, I'd wager most ANKC breeders don't sell to PIAA petshops due to their own personal ethics, they too then have have one less point of sale. Well if i was part of a reputable org/assn SAY ANKC where some members sold to pet shops I would LEAVE - that simple! And I would join an org/assn that did not do it. So there could be NO confusion. That simple. oh for goodness sake. get a grip. after all of us trying to help you still don't get it so what is your agenda? Annie, are you for real? Are school holidays becoming somewhat boring? Perhaps if you read the replies before posting, you'd be a bit more believeable.

When Buying From A Registered Breeder Poll 1

As is spelling your dog's kennel name and their colour correctly. I've lost count of the number of 'breeders' who can't spell harlequin -

Having seen the breeding practices of some of the members of my breed clubs, a breeder having membership means little to me too. -
When Buying From A Registered Breeder Poll 1

I'm replying as to what I would do in the future. I own 2 purebred dogs. Would I buy from the same breeders again? Probably not. I've learnt a lot since buying my dogs (and will continue to learn). When the time comes to think about adding another dog, I know that I'll be a lot more cautious when looking for a breeder. -
;) Glad I'm not the only one, 2 dogs - 5 crates.

I do...................but where she's supposed to be, in the neuter class ;)
-
;) Care to clarify which one it is?
-
Yep, I've done it. So much easier to wash them. I have learnt that it's easier to do one at a time...............I have Great Danes :D
-
And a big :D ;) to the handler helper who allowed my dog and I to do well ;)

What was your answer? The law says they cant be bred but they are still obviously being bred and some of them are pedigreed and registered as pittys . There are no BSL laws in the NT (or ACT from memory). They can be bred legally here, we're part of Australia, too.

A very non-scientific way to check if it is the pup.............................. Colour older dog's face/neck in with a non-toxic texta or crayon (lipstick, food colouring??) and see what colour puppy's mouth area is tomorrow. Then, if it is puppy, put bitter apple or something else yuk tasting on it??
-
You've just got a new puppy, huh? Any chance puppy is chewing on older dog? My boy did this to my girl when he was a puppy. She ended up with a pink face, was a rather special look ;) He also did most of his teething chewing on her Dozer (being the strange girl that she is) seemed to have no qualms whatsoever

good for you ! you can contact a rescue group in your area when the puppies are born to see if they will help you rehome them after 8 weeks ( call them earlier though) Congratulations for saving a poor wee dog.. get some advice for her pregnancy for her and the puppies to make sure she is getting correct nutrition, sorry can't help there but rescue will help you ;) Are you for real? :D :D

Yeah, you can. Neuter classes have been available for years, Neuter points (for Campion title) have been available since July this year. I'm currently showing my neuter bitch.
-
Nah, you're in Darwin now I've only been showing for 2 years (so I'm still new). My dogs and I have done an assortment of 'wrong' stuff. -I've stopped in the wrong place.................then said to the judge 'Oh, wrong spot. Do you want me to come over there?' ;) -My bitch decided she was in love with a judge so she face-planted into his chest and swooned. There's heaps more, but one stands out. My boy peed on another exhibitor We were having a chat and I wasn't watching him. I was mortified and did help clean up. She's still talking to me (and possibly reading this )
