  1. I was going to suggest a suprelorin implant, too. Alteratively, there's a Covinan injection (kind of the bitch version of suprelorin)
  2. Woo hoo, congratulations You don't start getting points until she's over 6 months old. You just get to enjoy her ribbons and prizes until then
  3. :D So sorry Kirty RIP Phoebe. Run free and without pain ;) Crying for another beautiful dog I never had the pleasure to meet s from me and my two
  4. What? I was simply disappointed that MEH's suggestion of a stripping demo was removed. I thought it was a good suggestion, especially because I have a traditionally stripped breed. Wrong thread ;) http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=218353
  5. Yep, I didn't breed them but someone did. In Group 7 up here, there are two neuters who started showing when the points came in. Neither owner had been to a show before. One lady and her son (grandson?) have now titled their neuter, and gone on to buy a puppy from the same breeder and are showing him. The young boy is having a blast, is entering Junior Handlers and is handling for as many people as he can :D
  6. From a different perspective..... I've only been showing for a couple of years and have only shown in the NT. All of our shows (aside from the royal and a few either side) have entries of around 100 dogs. All our shows offer Neuter class, and they have since long before the points were available. I thought everyone did it I show in group 7 and, at one stage, neuter was our largest class in group. I just looked through an old catalogue. Of the 96 dogs entered, 13 were neuters So it can be done. To the people driving further to enter their neuters: Would it be worth it to add a quick note to the secretary that neuter class is why you're entering their show? Good on the OVCC for offering the class. Hope more clubs follow suit.
  7. Try approaching the local vet clinics to sponsor a NIG sash.
  8. Hi Graham I think it's a good idea..............but -That's a hell of a lot of 6 point challenge certificates to get. There's the potential to get more points as the neuter class becomes more accepted and used, but I can't see any 25 point CCs in the near (or distant) future. -In a place like the NT, where every show has neuter class, it's still a lot of years of showing to get there. As neuter points are fairly new, would it be possible to suggest thet Neuter in Show be awarded points similar to Best in Show? Meg
  9. Hi Itsmeg - yes like that. Although for his mozzie suit, a much much lighter, cooler and breathable material, and no cuffs on the legs .... just open so the breeze can get in . I think it was you whom I had do my boy's PJ's up for in the first place (green camouflage), but for which I gave the wrong measurements??? Still need to get around to re-measuring. He loves his blankets in the cooler weather, I know he'll appreciate his jams. Nah, wasn't me. Can give them a whirl, though. Aw, thanks Thought I'd better start a new topic in the right place http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=217956
  10. PMd you. Have run out of pink camo, tollersowned got the last of mine She may have some left?
  11. Like this? My boy's so manly They're made from t-shirt material. They're good for a while but stretch out of shape pretty quickly. The bodies are done, just got to put the neck and cuffs on. ;)
  12. Dollop does that, too. Front off and back legs trailing behind like they don't work. Dozer, who has 0:0 hips never does
  13. Already sent a PM and also makes matching ones for people too That was a one-off for a special couple ETA: Link to the special couple photo http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...08&st=16830
  14. Woo hoo, yay Jedi Congratulations
  15. 1. Do you think it is a fun thing for the pet or a serious title for a good specimen of the breed? I think it's a bit of both. My bitch is titled and now desexed. She's far from being the best specimen of the breed, so she was desexed. She was, and still is, absolutely confident in the fact that shows are put on as a social outing for her She would get all excited when I was getting my dog ready for shows and would look dejected when she was left at home (yep, I'm probably anthropomorphising here). She'll be with me for the rest of her life. As I don't have the time or space for large numbers of dogs, the two I have are the two I show. 2. Do you think the dog should be in peak condition or just an oldie who you think likes to show? Definitely peak condition. 3. Will you be upset if you come up against Champions or Grand Champions? Not at all. Edited cause I can't spell
  16. Clare Martin put them up, they're now $130. But you can have 7 letters/numbers. There's heaps here.
  17. In tears again for you and Kuges  Run free and painless beautiful boy ;) s to you Horty
  18. I've heard of it failing. Was chatting to the owner of the boarding kennel I use. She had a dog and bitch in together (same owner, all legit). The dog seemed overly interested in the bitch so kennel owner rang dog owner. The owner of the dogs said it was fine as he'd had a suprelorin implant........................The next time they boarded, there were three. The implant had failed and the bitch had a singleton litter
  19. Yeah, they do. This site was created for pure bred dog discussion The primary purpose of this forum is to promote and discuss pure bred dogs (as recognised by the ANKC) so we ask you respect our aim when visiting here. If you own a cross breed dog, you are also welcome here, but we ask that you refer to it by it's proper name (eg a pug-x or cavalier-x instead of the designer term 'pugalier'). Please do not start threads asking what breeds people think make up your cross-bred dog or to express your outrage at the latest designer dog you saw. We prefer to concentrate our discussion on the pure bred dog (ANKC recognised).
  20. Not sure of numbers, but PMed you the email address of someone who will know. Meg
  21. Don't need the travel home clothes, just wear your show clothes
  22. Yep. Got to love that name! ;) Bastard refers to the cut of the file. It may be a bit rough for a Terrier, try a 'second cut' one, you'll get a smoother finish and no tearing of the nail.
  23. Awww, happy birthday Badger Your present is almost finished
