  1. I'm in a similar place to you. My boy bloated and torsioned a week and a half ago. He had a bone obstruction that needed to be cut out of his stomach. He's on 6 small meals a day ATM. They've got to be bland mushy food to give his stomach time to heal. He's lost 8kgs, so I really want to shovel food into him But I know I can't. Have you tried the a/d prescription diet tins? They're fairly high in calories and my boy loves them. I've also cooked up chicken mince and veggies and hit it with a stick mixer. If she's a fan of a particular dry food, you could soak it until it turns to mush?? Good luck.
  2. Oh how sad RIP little Tip. Run free, make some friends and remember Teebs. s to you Teebs. You did so much more than many people would.
  3. Thanks. I'm running a bit behind, I'll get some more auctions going when I've caught up
  4. Everything crossed here for a good outcome. Poor little guy
  5. Pacing is when both front and rear left legs move forward together, the front and rear right legs, and so on. Hope that makes sense? Basically, it's the wrong movement. Look at show pics of a dog on the move, front and rear legs on each side move opposite to each other. Mouthing your dog is when the judge (for wahtever reason) can't or won't handle your dog's mouth. You do it for them to show their bite. ETA: snap to the others, I type slow
  6. THanks for this - I'm STILL looking for a raincoat. Can't seem to find anyone with a golden who can advise me on a size so maybe I'm alone here in looking for a raincoat. How many posts do I need to be able to look at the marketplace? Not sure, but you could just PM Meg directly ;) :D Or there's these http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/220039-xl-raincoats-auction-7/ And the money goes to PACERS
  7. I have a girl named Dozer. I had a few names picked out for her before she arrived. The minute she arrived here, she plowed straight through the garden.........so Dozer it became :D I also have a boy named Dollop. It's part of his kennel name and, when a few people heard it, they liked the Dollop part (so did I). So, Dollop he became. He's now around 70kgs and people who meet him think I'm weird :p
  8. Do you have a link for these ? Raffle http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=219617 Ebay shop http://stores.ebay.com.au/MDBA-Pacers-Anim...-Charity?_rdc=1
  9. I'd guess they're in her mum's name. Stuff like that can't be sold until all the legalities of wills are dealt with. Or the dramas of no will, as the case may be???
  10. Wonderful effort by everyone involved :D :D Thoughts are with Vicsta. Hoping this is the start of things looking up. There's auctions going on, and more to come. Need bidders
  11. dobesrock is a member of DODC and I've seen her checking out dog shows ;) Keep trying DR Fingers are crossed for some good news for you ETA: Archeron has met Dozer :p
  12. Lol, this reminds me of the thread someone posted about how 'you know you've got a purebred Staffy if it has 5 moles on its face' lol, people are so stupid :D I had someone tell me one day that you can tell you have a 'pure well bred Cavalier' when they have the spot on their head...too bad its really only the blenheims that have the spot...the other colours must not be pure or well bred (I had my mums blenheim Cavalier with me at the time and *lucky* she has the spot) lmao I have a mantle dane with a spot on his head..........................is he really a Cav?
  13. Nah, he'll wear the jammies and lay on top of you. He's pretty accommodating like that :D You may not be able to breathe, but you'll be warm
  14. Oh, you must be heartbroken. So sorry for both your losses ;) Thoughts are with you, your OH, your children and your other dogs
  15. So sorry for your loss. :D I'm sitting here crying. A beautiful tribute to a beautiful dog :D s to you, your family and Indy. RIP Bonnie.
  16. Tears for another beautiful boy I never had the pleasure to meet Thoughts are with Sue. Hoping the memories bring a smile through the tears.
  17. So sorry to hear about your dog. We get Lepto here, too. It's an awful disease. Both of my dogs are vaccinated against it. We often travel to a friend's farm and they're always playing in the dams and billabongs. Waterways can be affected by rats peeing at the edge.
  18. Try a pig's ear stuffed into one of these type of toys :D Hard to get in, but kept him amused for days. Or a deer antler bone (from SwaY). They're great, they don't smell so are good for inside.
  19. I think the thing is that you're talking to the converted here - we all know that the price we pay now guarantees us a healthy pet. Whereas others outside this forum don't know - they think "oh I could buy that from the guy down the road for so much cheaper" and don't realise that they're not getting a quality animal that's healthy and comes with a lifetime of breeder support. Nope, no guarantees. Sure, there's more chance that a dog from a registered breeder will be healthy, but it's only a chance. I've lost count of the number of people I know with registered purebreds that have an assortment of health problems. I probably paid too much for my first 'show potential' purebred. Her 'potential' never really surfaced. On saying that, I love her to bits and wouldn't change her for the world. The 'lifetime' of breeder support lasted until I desexed her Yeah, I still email her breeder updates. Only now I don't look for a reply as I know one won't appear.
  20. at the zoomies. My two don't do zoomies after a bath. They wait to be towel dried...................but they will push each other out of the way to be the first to the towel In support of the 'stress' theory, they both love water, including baths. More often than not, one (or both) of them will poke a head into the shower to see if they can come in for a wash
  21. Definitely Cake with cocktail frankfurts was a hit (even when it was on fire ) Cake with sardines went down well, too And party hats
