  1. I bought a Mercedes Benz Sprinter (2003 model) van (like the ones the couriers drive) last year and have done it up specifically so I can go anywhere with my dogs and have all my gear in one place. I had sliding windows put into the side and I still need to have a fold out annexe on the side, and a secondary power system put in but pretty much I can go anywhere with the dogs. I had it at Camp Tailwaggers last week, you should have said something you could have had a look at it. The van is a 4cylinder turbo charged diesel engine so is economical, it is only 1ft longer and only slightly wider than my Mazda Bravo Duel Cab. I can park in a normal car space at the shopping centre. It drives just live an normal car I much prefer to drive this than my Bravo. I did get the van with the high roof so just have to watch the height when going under things. I have had the roof and walls insulated since these photo's were taken so the noise in minimal and it is nice and warm inside now. I have made flyscreens with magnets that are attached to the walls with velcro, also the dogs have a fan each which runs off the cigarette lighter (which is why I need a secondary power system for when the motor is not running and its a really hot day) and the best thing I bought was the port-a-loo. My show trolley is stored under the crates and my bed is on top of them. Most of my training gear is kept in the K9Pro training bag, its amazing how much this bag stores, I have mats stored down the one of the side of the crates and extra towels and other stuff is stored down the other. I have a small draw cupboard where all type collars are kept for easy access. I also have 2 lots of water storage so I should never run out of clean water. I have taken all my DWD props and training aids to seminars and still have plenty of room. This car has been a dream of mine for a long time and luckily I picked it up for a good price and have done it up ourselves (except for the windows).
  2. What a great week-end hope everyone arrived home safely. It was lovely meeting you all
  3. :provoke: don't you read the posts on the DWD yahoo email list Tassie? :p  Didn't have to...had a secret source rofl....but you need to brag here for those that don't have "the knowledge " ;-) A secret source  . OK, for those that don't know, Jarrah & I got our first leg & second place in Advanced Freestyle yesterday at the Brisbane Royal ( <-----me doing the happy dance  ). Thanks to BC4ME for me to do it, it was my first trial in 10 months & our first trial in the advanced class & I nearly pulled out altogether because I didn't have my new advanced routine ready, but in the end I did my intermediate routine (with much ad libing because I forgot most of it  ) instead. I didn't do anything except tell you to get your butt in the ring and enjoy yourself  Congrats it was a pleasure to judge and give you your qualie Jarrah was on his best behaviour Well Done to your both

  7. Wizza at 9 weeks Wizza at 18mths Note how is sitting exactly the same way in both photo's, he just sat like that these were not set up.
  8. Thanks for posting that Sally. This is a slower version there are slightly faster versions out there and there is also a big band jazz version as well. If you have Itunes you will be able to search for it easy enough.
  9. Seeing Panda is so cute, I would use some classical music and make up a little story about chasing fairies or butterflies etc. You could incorporate a wand or butterfly net maybe a small box/bed for her to jump on or hide in. I would make the routine about 1 1/5 minutes max (usually 1 verse and 2 choruses) and just have fun. Dance of the Miriltons from the Nutcracker is good for this. She will get the "Awwwwww" factor from the audience when she walks into the ring just because she is little and like I said so goddam cute  As for training different breeds I believe once you know what turns them on (their prey/food item) then you can train them to do anything.
  10. The music is the theme title from the series The Game Of Thrones. I love this piece of music. As for my pants ... No idea but when he spun a little earlier a heap of spit came out of his mouth which was what he tried to smell on the ground maybe some landed on my leg, there was nothing on my leg when I left the ring though LOL I got away using the box as a prop because of the title of the song and the way the box was used. We have Kamal up here this week-end I have a private lesson with him tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it although there is rain predicted which might put a bit of a dampened in things. I am camping in my new home made campervan which I have designed especially so I can go away with the dogs and be comfortable, safe, warm and hopefully dry. I still need an annexe on the side so will be using gazebos again this week-end.
  11. Mine are separated for training although they can hear each other and yes there is lots of whining and barking happening. But when they get there turn they are really well focused and really want to work, so I can put up with the noise

  14. Ditto to the rake, gets my boys undercoats out without any damage to the top coat
  15. Another lovely competition was held up here in Qld yesterday and there were several new faces. It was lovely to see some "newbies" to the sport take home quallies and it was lovely to meet Barb "Tassie" on DOL and her lovely BC's. I believe Barb became the first person to gain a DWD title in Tasmania I was happy with my boys as well Styler gained his DWD Freestyle starters title and Chook his 2nd quallie in HTM Novice, he also placed first with his routine. :D I have hopefully attached his routine for you all to see.
  16. Sounds like everyone had an awesome time. Congrats to everyone involved.
  17. I wouldn't let a mere cleaner boss you around. He's most likely the type that has a dog in his back yard who he hardly ever sees and never walks So even though dogs are not allowed on school grounds due to safety reasons, you would break the rule because you feel that the rule shouldn't apply to your dogs? Doesn't matter if the person flagging this was a cleaner. Any one can walk up to you and tell you that you are breaking the law. How is this different from those who walk their dog off leash because they feel the law should not apply to them? I agree I was breaking a rule but I was more astonished by the way in which the cleaner came running yelling and screaming waving his arms around in the air, he was quite frightening actually. If he had come up to me calmly and said, "hey I'm sorry but you are breaking a rules by having your dogs on school grounds you will have to leave." I would not have had a problem but his attitude was uncalled for. I believe alot in the saying..."It's not what you say, but how you say it," this simple saying could save a lot of conflict if more people took notice of it. Like I also said I have found another place to train so problem solved.
  18. I wouldn't let a mere cleaner boss you around. He's most likely the type that has a dog in his back yard who he hardly ever sees and never walks They did have signs up saying no dogs, no golf etc but it was never a problem before. Now all the gates to the oval are locked after 4:00. It's not worth an argument so I just train somewhere else now, pity cause the school is so handy and has heaps of smells for distraction.
  19. I live behind my local primary school and for years I trained my dogs on the oval after school. I know dogs are not allowed on school grounds but it was never a problem and often the kids and carers from the after school care classes would come and watch and talk to me about the my dogs. Then the school hired a new cleaner, he came down while I was training one day yelling and screaming, "no dogs allowed" I said I had trained their for years without any problems but he wouldn't have a bar of it, so I left but not until I had finished my daily training.
  20. I hear you guys are having a bit of a wild time down there. Better to cancel the comp in advance so then people stay at home all rugged up and out of harms way. Stay safe everyone :)
  21. I think you have every right to brag  Congrats
