  1. Fred will be coming to training with me more often :D He worked fantastically for me yesterday in my lesson I'm feeling very inspired after our weekend Denise was awesome, after doing many seminars from many different trainers from around the world it was nice to hear some new ideas. Not just rehashing the same old training techniques.
  2. People seem to get hung up thinking they have to have a "WOW" factor in their routines. The "WOW" factor can mean so many different things. It can be a "WOW" that was an awesome new trick, movement or transition, "WOW" you both working well together, "WOW" that was a stunning performance, "WOW" Fluffy is so focused today. Try not to get hung up on the "WOW" factor, a routine that has you and your dog working well together and enjoying each other while performing is a "WOW" factor in itself. Enjoy your performances.
  3. QLD's turn this week-end. Let's hope the weather holds up. We are at Camp Tailwaggers and they have a huge undercover area but if it rains it gets very cold up that high. I'm sure Jenny our cook will keep our tummy's full of warm and delicious food. So looking forward to getting away for the week-end with many friends and a wonderful seminar
  4. Anybody know which kennel in Bracken Ridge??? PM me if you want.
  5. 1:30am is it's next showing.
  6. Did anyone else watch the amazing doco on Animal Planet called Glory Hounds. It followed the tour of Afghanistan of 4 defence force dogs and their handlers.
  7. The K9Pro training bags are awesome. When I first saw the size I thought it may be too small then I started putting all my gear into it and when I finished I couldn't pick it up. It holds heaps of equipment. I love the snap clips I hook my car keys to so I don't lose them. As well as all my usual training gear I can also fit my dri-as-a-bone jacket in one end. You name it, it is in my training bag. The only problem is if I ever loose my bag I will also loose "all" my training gear.
  8. Welcome to the wonderful world of DWD you will have sooooo much fun, all the best people are doing it :D :
  9. Whoo Hoo congrats & Well Done  Now where is the video??? Well, it's not the best video, as my friend wasn't in the best spot for s clear view, but here you go; Well done
  10. This has been a dream of mine for a very long time and it finally came true last year when I found a second hand 2003 Mercedes Benz Sprinter in excellent condition and a price I was happy to pay, it is designed for me to go away camping with my dogs. I had the sliding window installed but I still need to have a secondary power system and a caravan awning & annexe installed but I can manage quite will without them for the moment. I am currently checking out what is available for these at the moment. The kitchenette is from Bunnings and the rest we have built ourselves. Best thing I have bought was the port-a-loo  Standing between the 2 bucket seats looking backwards, bed on top, crates with fans underneath, port-a-loo to the right and kitchenette to the left. The van has since been lined with woollen insulation in all the walls, doors and roof, so cosy now. The kitchenette looking through the sliding side door. The doors are kept closed with velco and small magnets on the inside and the draws have small latch hooks (Velcro wouldn't hold if I went around a corner too fast  ) View from the back doors, there is storage under the crates and to the sides as well. These crate are my normal fold up metal crates I have plans to eventually make them permanent and have opening both ends for easier access in wet weather. Until I get my awning & annex I just put a gazebo up and put a couple of puppy fences around it so the dogs have a small area to walk around in so they are not in there cooped up in their crates all the time. All windows have fly screens and I have made magnetic ones (like the bug mesh ones) to suit the door opening. All my training gear is kept in the van so when I go away I basically just put my clothes, food and the dogs in the van and we are gone.
  11. Whoo Hoo congrats & Well Done  Now where is the video???
  12. Exactly, just yesterday I was trying to reassure someone else that I know a dog who's had both her eyes removed and she is coping really well, and then suddenly, later that day I discover this on Kibah and I've changed my tune. I know it's just the shock and worry of it all though. I'd still rather have her eye taken out than the alternative. I feel Kibah still has a few good years left in her, the darling. She's been getting a bit spoilt today. Taking your own advise is the hardest advise of all to take. Take your emotions out of the equation and think about what advise would you give someone else in the same situation... this is the advise you should follow. Hope it all works out for you all.
  13. Pine Rivers Dog Obedience Club recently did a DWD photo shoot for the local paper. This is a photo of the paper not a scan so the quality is poor, sorry I don't have a hard copy yet to scan it. Left is Gay and Tallie, Middle top is Gay's Gemma, Middle bottom is Me and Styler, Right top is Debby Lamprecht and Jazz and Right bottom is me and Chook. Hopefully below is the link to the story, not all pictures have been shown here DWD Newspaper Article
  14. Here are the results of the comp that was held at Toowoomba on the week-end. I must say how proud I was of my boy Chook who was an absolute "airhead" in his freestyle routine but then came out and won the HTM Intermediate section. Totally different dog, some were talking drug testing because the change in him was amazing  My boys and I came away with 3 quallies from 4 routines gotta be happy with that. Styler has a new Freestyle Novice routine and Chook has a new HTM Intermediate routine so it was nice to quallie with these new routines considering this was the first real run throughs because of the weather we've had up here. 16. As we are scattered all over the Brisbane, Sunshine & Gold coasts and Toowoomba regions our competitions are held in different places. This makes it fair for those that travel distances to get to comps. Most of our comps are held out in the open at obedience clubs and we have been very lucky with the weather. Although very cold at times the rain gods have been with us. It has rained prior to and at the end of our comps but we haven't had to postpone a competition so far, I believe the rain gods love DWD. You watch I just jinxed us by saying that as cyclonic weather moves down the coast
  17. She is stunning, Happy birthday Wilhelmina
