  2. :D OMG How good was that week-end. I have learnt so much my brain is like spaghetti at the moment, everything swishing around together now I just have to get out one stand at a time and make sure I understand it properly. It was nice to actually put faces to names and to meet up with you all. Thanks to Steve for coming all the way up here to impart his knowledge to us (or was that just to get his played with by Val at each break) Thanks to everyone at Camptailwaggers it is truely a state of the art complex Special thanks to Nicole for organising the week-end as well  Good Luck to Rottylover with your boy please keep us updated with his progress I would love to know how your going. I have some pics I will post them later. Cheers Maree
  3. They had never seen this problem before but apparently the contacts under the on / off switch needed adjusting I am just happy I have it back for the week-end, I am going down to see Steve (K9 Force) so as well as learning I'll be happy snapping as well YAY
  4. YAY I got my camera back today all fixed YAY
  5. Ok so cameras do break down.... but I am so impatient, I hate being without a camera Vickie - I can relate to taking so many photo's, my family thinks I'm crazy taking a 3-400 photo's everytime I go out. it takes me ages to go through them when I get home. I'm still learning the manual settings, sometimes I get good shots other times I get lousy ones but because I take so many I can usually get the shot I'm after. The only exception to the rule is with my dog Chook who took out "Best Head Dog" at the last BC Specialty everytime I point the camera at him to get a head shot he looks away He's camera shy I think or maybe he is just living up to his name.
  6. Ok let me try again Has anyone else had problems with their cameras breaking down????
  7. I don't know if I have bought a lemon or not Hubby bought me a Nikon D60 (which I chose) in April and it is the workshop for the second time. First time to have the flash repaired, it wouldn't pop up when I wanted to use the flash and also to get the lens repaired which they refused to do as they said it had been dropped, which it hasn't. I had them send the lense to Sydney for checking and they still say it has been dropped and won't repair it under warranty Now the camera will only turn on occasionally but then it will cut out when taking a pic. I have checked that it is not the battery as I have 2 batteries which I keep charged up and it is the same with both of them. I have reset the camera when I can get it to turn on but that changes nothing..... Now I am without a camera for the second time AHHHH for another 10 days... I am very particular with my gear and look after it all the time. I won't even let someone else hold the camera to look at the photo for fear they might drop it. Do you think I have bought a lemon or am I being to judgemental.
  8. Ruthless Sorry he's all mine and I don't share
  9. Ok it sounds like I should put the Nikkor 70-200 VR is on the wish list... Thanks for all the advise. I still have so much to learn. What is going on everyone else list
  10. OMG what a great lense I know my loving OH would pay that but I don't think I am good enough yet to have a lense of that quality What others lense/s would you recommend. I've been researching the Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF ED lense. I've read some good and bad things about it does anyone have this lense?
  11. Hi Everyone I have a Nikon D60 (with the twin lense kit) and only starting to get the hang of how to use if properly (even though I don't totally understand all the focal lengths and things) but I can get good shots. I am wanting to get new lense/s for Christmas but I am unsure of what type of lense/s I want. I shoot a lot of long distance movement shots (ie across the rings at dog shows, agility etc), birds in trees etc. I also like doing close up work, macro I think it's called (ie bugs, flowers etc) and maybe some portait work (my daughter has a dance school so lots of kids in costumes). I was talking to a photographer and he said that I should think about getting an external flash unit for night photography as well but I have no idea where to start there. On a great note hubby likes to spoil me so budget it not a great worry (gotta love that man) So what should I put on the Christmas wish list. Thanks
  12. Well that's it for the photo's I hope you lilke them. Reddii - I was going to get down to take some piccies of the frisbie but by the time the dog dancing had finished so had you guys
