I agree SmoothieGirl vets do have limited training in this field - we have been seeing a Caine Dermatologist since he was 6 months old..very $$ but how can you put a price on your pets health and wellbeing? to us he is worth every cent

Harry's allergies are enviromental and mostly dust and grasses 3yrs on he is still in still on 3 zyrtec daily and his desensitization injecttions bimonthly - if only he could live in a bubble I agree 100% with desexing so the genetic aren't passed on but you would fall over at the discussions I had with a staffy owner in the waiting room on one of harry's recents check-ups - she was a few cans short of a 6 pack and said that the vet couldn't prove that the gene wouldn't be passed on and why should she loose a bitch over it

When one of our dogs Harry was diagnosed with enviromental allergies, I was taken back as I never knew the extent of allergies within pets and from what I have read on here it's apparently quite common. Harry is back looking beautiful and healthy again on his medication but I am curious to see how allergies have effected other DOLer's? also we always planned on desexing Harry but have allergies effected you decision to desex your pet?

try sending it through australian air express i sent a large crate over to melb to pick up a dog and it only cost me $50 i check the dog as baggage on the way back to perth as he was just under 20kgs limit

the best thing is when i go at 2ish there is no other dogs...we have the whole place to ourselves

with me working away at the moment we have been mabe 5 times this year the week i am home i have them with me 24/7 and we go to the whiteman park dog park 2 a day..but i still feeel guilty where are you doing your retriving training?

ST, consider yourself partnered ;) And we aren't too far ahead. Ruby may be 4 and a half years, but her dodo handler has no idea what she is doing! We can meet up soon though, I can throw some puppy bumpers for Lulu and you can throw some longer ones for Ruby (seeing as I don't have a thrower). I'm sure there is plenty we can help each other with without a thrower and with differing levels of current ability in the dogs mirawee, think you should just go and get yourself a Gundog and be done with it. Afterall, they're the best group of dogs there is :p i was told that lily was too old to start retrieving... and she is only 2yo ??? what do you guys think? - silly me for listening i think am going to start her training. I think she will love it!

I seriously need to get lily back on track with her training...she is being very difficult at the moment its my own fault but god its frustrating - she just chewed through Harry's harness strap (while he was wearing it!!)

yay the weather looks good for when i am home i need a new job my role recently turned in to a FIFO role because of the project development...but i am missing the fur babys and OH to much. i moved in to this role because it wasn't FIFO :-( the Fog was up here 2 days ago stopped all the flights to site and also affected Newman for the day... Is there any shows/trials next weekend? i don't have my fitxures up here
