  1. Howdy doody, need a little advice. the last few times I have taken photos of dogs I have suffered a bit from black eyes (as in you lose all the detail as the eylids cast a shadow onto the eyeballs, hope that makes sense) Is it because the sun is still to high? Maybe I should try and place the dog side on to the sun? but then you can get some big shadows across the body from their face. Not sure on how I should position the dog or what time I should be aiming my shoot (if it is because the sun is still to high) to avoid this problem. Any info on how others help combat it would be great. I can post pics when I get home if you are not sure what I mean
  2. do not quote me, but I though adobe's license worked as you can only use it on one computer at a time, so if you have a desktop and a laptop you can install it on both, but only use it on one at a time Would not work with pc and mac though as a whole diffrent version is required i guess
  3. ewww, at least you know they will be getting plenty of protein ;p
  4. Hmm.. shame they dont have the frame that came after this shot Lol that makes me think of alot of skiing shots. They are super spectacular, but then the next frame (if you ever get to see it) is a big stack as a skier throws themselves at it all for the perfect shot, god help the photographer if they miss it ;p
  5. yes I think aperture is like lightroom just for exposure contrast etc
  6. hopefully it all works out in the mean time . . . don't worry =]
  7. Love the wind farm! Not sure if this one is right, but I liked it, shame she does not look at me like that. . . . only her tennis ball =/
  8. phew that is a long time, there is no way I could have waited that long unless I had for some reason forgotten about it ;p
  9. super cute. I love how whippets and greyhounds look so excited when they are running around =]
  10. Hmmm... I wish I knew that about 12 years ago when I worked for a camera wholesaler and people would bring in their scratched lenses. I could have told them all they were making it up and sent them on their way. I don't know who told you that. Obviously it takes a bit of a whack or some sort of pressure to scratch them but it's not as uncommon as you seem to think. (but personally, I don't use filters either.) I'm not saying it's not possible, but it takes a fair whack as you said and some carelessness or accident such as dropping it, which will often cause bigger problems than a filter can prevent anyway. I just think when you are weighing up the risk of scratching your lens against the horrid artifacts etc caused by crappy filters, I'd rather take the risk of scratching and just make sure I am careful with my lenses. maybe I need to rethink my strategy then cause I was told to put filters on everything to help protect it
  11. I am hoping all the non Brisbane people will get to see the end result, cause you have my damn interest and I want to know what it is all about ;p
  12. I think the problem is that the 350D while in the line higher then the 1000D it is older. Sd cards hovered at about 1-2gb for a long while and then boom they started to go up and up and up in size. Alot of older devices just do not handle all the extra space, they where designed around the old 2gb max card size. My friends 350D also struggles
  13. lol, doh. I bet they had fun doing it!
  14. lol i am glad everyone came away ok after the experience
  15. wow that is one fat bugger. I get so scared of big fat spiders like this one, not because they might bite me, but cause I am scared of squishing them cause that would be so super yuck
  16. LOL @ Saxonpup, I am sure it will be worth the wait =]
  17. wow nice work, looks damn good to me =]
  18. Yeah I think I would frame it as well. It is a great picture! And thanks, my dad is back home now and feeling heaps better =]
  19. lol, nice =] He did a good job!
  20. So Sorry I did not get these posted up last night, I had to rush off to see my parents as my dad is sick. They are quite thin, so if you just wanted to bluetac it to your wall at work or something the I think it would be fine as it is protected by the laminating. If you wanted a nicer display of it though you might have to frame it, I am not sure how you could do that and get a really nice finish, maybe one of those frames where the pica is sandwiched between two sheets of perspex and there is no real 'frame' around the picture as such. Hope these help
  21. If you wait until tonight then I can take a photo of one i have at home so you get an idea of what they are like. looking at the pictures you posted i prefer the black, but hard to say without seeing a real example.
