  1. So I thought we might like to have a thread where we can post some of our mistakes, little or big that you did not think about at the time, but was obvious after. Hopefully this can be a little bit of fun, and a little bit of help to others. I can start, today I went and took photos of a gorgeous little dog called Starr. I am using the photo as a reference so the mistake does not have a big impact on me, but it ruined (I think) what could have been a nice little photo of a lovely little dog. So in the hopes that someone else might read this and think twice about their background here is one of them. Next time I will take more time, have more though and try and take photos in more then one place!
  2. WOW that is fantastic!! well done both of you. I personally am not surprised, I have great admiration for the excellent quality of work that you both produce.
  3. What a gorgeous little mite =]

  7. these are great panasonic tz7 my +1 has one and really likes it, also does good video I think (don't quote me)
  8. I would be careful with watermarks, to much and alot of people are turned off I don't use them at all, because if you are producing something that people want to steal they will any way. If you have to have a water mark, consider a discreate one. I think it is a balancing act, but most professionals I have visited seem to have discreate ones. The only ones I have seen that do not are on snow ski photographers (they take a photo of you on snow skiing, then you can go down to their store in the resort and get prints of your photo for monies)
  9. Great shots! but i have to say the last one is my fav, what a great capture of expression and feeling.
  10. I love the landscapes, you have probably mentioned already, but can i ask what lens you took them with? I love the wild flowers! All your photos have such lovely vivid colours, I love vivid colours. but then i also love the pictures of the husky you picked up. Maybe i should change it to vivid colours and or high contrast. I like you make lovely pictures. I know how you feel about not being happy with your work when everyone thinks it is great. I am going through a bit of that with my art at the moment. One suggestion i had been given that I thought was great and seems to have helped is to just go out and either create something diffrent or just have a bit of fun. For example I started doing some quick sketches, no real skill, no perfecting, no detail just playing. Now that I feel I want to do a large piece I have switched to a horse instead of a dog (totally diffrent fur and technique). Not sure how you can do a similar type thing in photography, but I am sure you can, think about it.

  19. I went to Yass show today, thought horses might fit the bill pretty well. Possibly I went a little nuts with it ;p And I had a play with it with some working dogs as well Any how that is all mine for the month, in one hit ;p
  20. Thanks guys, sorry for the sluggish reply, been away for work. I agree totally Helen, and I was pretty annoyed that I clipped her ear off when I took the photo, must have been one of the times I got the wobbles and lost her ear out of the viewfinder when I clicked the button. ;) Thanks Bec, Yuki is gorgeous, and a darn big sook to. I am lucky that she is generally happy to have some photos done, but only after she has tried to tip me over a few times in her attempts to lick my face, she likes to try and take advantage of the fact that I am down on the gound and in easy reach ;p Good point about the collar, with it being orange it probably clashes with her brindle colour a bit, I want to try some more tonight so will see how we go. =]
  21. WOW Helen the first photo is Great! The second is lovely and so cute!
