I just purchased my first 15kg bag of Royal Canin and realised it doesn't have the air tight seal that the smaller bags do. So wondering how people store large quantities of dry food? Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

I think it is rubbing. The chain section has always turned his fur blackish but never hair loss. He has had the collar for quite sometime now with no problems. Only thing I am worried about is the strength of the collars? He is quite the puller and we are in the process of correcting this, he is extremely strong. They look exactly what I need otherwise.

My 9 month old has recently began to lose hair under his chin/neck, I am fairly certain it is due to the collar. It is now patchy and red so we have taken the collar off. His current Collar is a Rogz, just like the link below: http://www.amazon.com/Rogz-Reflective-Dog-...;color_name=7-3 So I am wondering if anyone has any other suggestions for better collars and where to purchase? Thanks.

Really Reliable Recall
Oscar (AmBull) replied to corvus's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I thought it could be as I know a lot of the stuff we are learning in this course is based on a lot of proven theories by others. She truly is a great trainer, who knows you may even end up in my recall class -
Really Reliable Recall
Oscar (AmBull) replied to corvus's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I can't recommend Alexis highly enough. We have thus far done the Basic Training Course and are currently doing the Calm, Controlled and Centred one (which we are seeing great improvements daily). Dova, We are doing it in the Hills, I am located in strath and the CCC course is located at Balhannah. We are far from ready to do the CGC, but goodluck if you do it. How are you finding the Beyond Basics? Sighthounder, I am unsure as to what the Reliable Recall is based on, but if you are looking for a great trainer up this way she is who I would definitely reccomend. -

Our local per shop has just started to sell Nutro. We currently feed Royal Canin and were wondering how is compares? Which would people recommend? I have never seen it anywhere before so I am totally unfamiliar with it. Any suggestions/recommendations/experiences is much appreciated.

Dog Swimming Pools In Adelaide

Bumping this thread as I would like to get an answer as well. -
They sound great, roughly how much do they cost from a reputable breeder and how long would you expect to wait?

We had this exact same problem just a couple of days ago. Oscar had the most terrible stomach grumbles, then came the diarrhea. He didn't eat his normal meals for around a day and was constantly eating grass. It was only a 24/48 hour thing, but boy did it effect him. And the smell was horrific. hopefully it passes soon, glad I only had one going through it. Hope they get well soon!

What are they like with larger breed dogs? We have an american staffy, could they live with one easily? Also re socialisation, how much do they need? Are they a naturally friendly dog? Just like a bit of info on personality and the way they work in a pack.

We live in Strathalbyn and have just started using the Mount Barker Veterinary Clinic on the Flaxley Rd. We are really happy with it thus far and they do have an after hours emegency service. They are definitely the best we have come across so far and we have spoken to around 3. I am not sure whether they know a lot about sighthounds but a phone call couldn't hurt. Hope that helps.

We won't be able to make the next one, Oscar was desexed on Friday and also had a tumour removed. So he has two lots of stitches which won't come out until next Monday. Hope you all have a ball though!

Hi all, I know this is a topic done to death and I have searched the forum’s all night but can’t really find anything specific to my case so thought it would be best to post a new topic to get the info I specifically need. Oscar is a 6.5 month old Amstaff and as such is eating a lot. ;) We currently give him Chicken, Roo and Beef mince, also a locally made preservative free meatloaf when we are running short on time. He gets raw bones daily which include frozen chicken carcasses, roo tail and lamb’s neck (which we have just found) before that it was shanks. He also gets fresh chicken legs and wings. We have tried to feed offal however he turns his nose up at it, we are still trying to source offal mince closer to home to try. He is going through a lot of mince and we want to add in some vegies. I am looking to DOL to really see how our feeding compares to others and what vegetables to include and how to include? So hopefully a step by step process of what all you other RAW feeders do would be fantastic. Thanks in advance, this forum truly is fantastic!

We will be there, be funny to see Choco and Oscar together again, seeing as they have grown so much now.

I know he is only still a puppy but when he is almost pulling me over from pulling to get to another dog it is hard to think that . He is 27kg so not a light weight. We will just have to keep trying. Thanks for all the input!

On leash it is pull as hard as I can to get to the dog. Off leash it is run as fast as I can to get to the other dog. He does have a fairly good recall and is very food motivated, except when dogs are around. It is like nothing at all is as good as getting to that other dog. I don't want to avoid other dogs but I would never forgive myself if something happened and he was attacked by another dog, which would in turn effect him for life. And I also do not want him to scare other dogs to the point that they become fear aggressive. It is a catch 22. I just can't seem to get his attention at all when another dog is in the picture.

Oscar gets super hyperactive and excited when he see's another dog, and humans in fact. He will settle after a while with unfamiliar people, but dogs he will go crazy for the entire duration. He only wants to play but he is so over the top and boisterous he scares other dogs. I do not like other dogs feeling uncomfortable because mine is super excited and I know I would hate it if the roles were reversed so I most often just try and steer clear of dogs I don't know or I know to be a little timid. He is most of the time on lead as he is to in your face to other dogs. Just wondering if there are any techniques I could use to teach him not all dogs want to be his friend as soon as he spots them? We are going to start a course shortly called calm, controlled, centred which combats some of this. Just wondering if any other people have had a similar experience or have any advice? He is only 6 months old and still a goofy puppy so doesn't realise his own strength. Thanks.

We didn't make it last weekend but we will for sure this weekend! Can't wait to see all the dogs, Oscar has grown so much!
