Oh really? That is weird it says English Bull Terrier on all his paperwork! Will that matter?
-
I am sorry, I missed the part where I appeared surprised at their response or expected something different? I was angry and rude to them, they were angry and rude back, no big deal. ncarter English Bull Terrier is the full breed name but most people just say Bull Terrier
-
Awesome that is great, I'll tell them to try that, and try to make sure his favourite spots to lie are softer He doesn't seem to care about the hygromas at all.
-
Cool thanks guys! And thanks tashnchief for the info about hygromas that's awesome, I'll tell her to grab some of that anti inflam stuff and I already told her to give him somewhere soft to lie and not to let him plonk himself down on the floorboards / cement. Kavik, my friend is sure there's some Dane in him somewhere as well. She will be so excited to see all the lovely compliments on the big boofer, he really is a delightful dog, he was so gentle with Luuka last night! He accidentally stood on her at one point and she yelped and he followed her around for awhile sniffing her all over as if to say 'sorry sorry sorry!'. Cutie.
-
Oh and yes those are hygromas on his elbows, they're getting drained soon.
-
He has the most lovely personality too, he's a big sook, a big drooly softy! It's such a pity that Atlas will not allow other entire boys at our place because they played so well as youngsters But yeah Atlas just won't have a bar of him they have big scary snarly fights through the fence so maybe sometime soon we'll take them to a neutral place like the beach or something and see if they can get along.

She reports that others have suggested Lab also

This is my friend's dog who was living with us when he was a lil fella, 8 - 16 weeksish, and he was a little gangly weirdo big-pawed thing, but check him out now! Woooooow! He is a monster! He's over for plays tonight while Atlas is away with the grandparents. She was told that the father and mother are both bull arab / bull mastiff though my friend states that neither dog looks much alike (as happens with crosses). I can see so much ridgeback in him, what do you guys think? He's really lovely Permission to post pics, my friend is watching this thread with me with interest

Oh thank you so much KatrinaM! I am glad they printed it, and in the 'focus' section too! :p
-
Totally agree, thanks from me too MM! :p
-
Cool! So they did me a favour! I take back my grumpiness :p That is one grammar rule that has always eluded me! But that actually makes sense now!
-
MM what about in that instance? I did think about that little weirdo rule but I have never understood it properly!
-
I am known for my obsession with grammar, spelling and punctuation so it's kind of embarrassing, I think I'll get quite a ribbing about it!
-
Thanks MM you are right It was really scary but I am more careful now when OH is out In other news (pardon the pun) - MY LETTER GOT PRINTED TODAY!!!! :D :D :D :D And the paper only managed to make one mistake, they printed that I said "my dog and me" but, sorry, I would never say that!
-
As previously mentioned ... I didn't mean to imply I thought it was the work of satanists, but you can bet 99% of the rest of this town does. I live here, I know what it's like.

Does anyone know where I can find out the dates of the upcoming shows? The CCCQ site only has up to the end of January shows :D I need to join up, sigh, more money! Oh may I also say for the record that the CCCQ website is the single worst website I've ever seen?

He's my hero And Luuka's too He won't even let her in the clam pool without harassing her, should have seen him coralling her at the river, hilarious. Lucky she just ignores him And as for the name, we had a few picked out, we wanted a name that was 'majestic' without being wanky and over the top, something simple but proud, and we had a few choices - Atlas, Apollo, a few others, but when I met him I knew Atlas was the right name!
-
Had to laugh at the knobs bit - they sure are! You're right. I ummed and ahhed over that bit. The way my house is set up.. ahh bugger it gimme 2 secs ... Okay here's what the layout is: I was sitting on the couch facing away from the veranda watching TV, he came up the stairs to the veranda doors and only sort of went a little bit inside them (red dot), I didn't go past the front door that leads onto the veranda ... so 'home invasion' seemed like a stretch. I dunno. I am still a bit messed up over it, when I'm home alone and Atlas barks at something I jump out of my skin, haha. Wow that was a lot of effort just to essentially agree with you wasn't it!
-
Haha thanks MM! Just got a call from the paper, telling me my letter is approved and will be printed soon

for that whole post spottychick but particularly the bolded parts. I bet it was just trying to get the toy and got carried away. How long you reckon it'll take before 'someone who knows the family' comes in and tells us we're all being big meanies who don't know anything about the situation?
-
Exactly, they'd had the other staffy for FOURTEEN YEARS of course it's a bit of a different story there, they know the dog and while I reiterate that kids should never be left alone with ANY dog, that goes a hundredfold for a dog you've had for less than an hour! There must be a reason it needed to be rehomed, shouldn't she have asked why?
-
I agree, what the hell It's no one's fault but the mother's own that she didn't know the behavioural history of the dog, she got it from a 'friend of a friend' she should have bloody well asked, also waving a toy about teasing (presumedly) a brand-spankin' new dog? Probably not a great idea but there were obviously no bad intentions here, what this is is a great example of why you never take your eyes of kids playing with dogs ever.

A Few Questions About Feeding My Dogs
FranVT replied to FranVT's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
poodlefan - I looked for flaxseed oil yesterday in Coles but none to be found, is it sold at health food shops? I went and talked to the butcher that OH works at, and he said he doesn't often get offal in but I have seen bags of liver and kidneys at Woolies so I'll just do that. He has 10kg boxes of chicken necks for $20 and 10kg boxes of frames for $8 - that seems pretty cheap! -
Oh yep I know, but knowing the people around here that's what they're going to think when they read 'ritualistic'

Is digital camera warehouse grey market? I didn't think so... the guy at JB HiFi said they'd definitely match any price I found online excluding grey market stock. I haven't been to see my friend at Harvey Norman yet, for some reason he's trying to talk me into a Sony dSLR and from what I have heard (and read in reviews etc) they're dreadful. But I will go and have a chat with him. JB came up with a price of $1110 for the Nikon D3000 pack (exactly as above), a 4GB memory card, a camera bag and some lens protector screens which he said would be a good idea if I'm shooting bands / gigs etc. They can do the pack alone for $970 which is still cheaper than that site because the postage is more than that. Honestly I would have expected him to chuck in a camera bag or something and I think I'll be asking him to, or see if my HN friend will.
