Thanks! I only decided recently and joined Dogs Queensland. Going to a show in my town on the 6/7 of March to try to learn as much as possible before I go up to Mackay to show her for the first time on the 13th and 14th of March. She doesn't hang out in the sun that much, also it's been raining pretty much solidly for weeks now in Rocky! She goes out and plays in the yard but she naps inside on the tiles so I wouldn't think it'd be too much sun, I think it is probably a lot of puppy fur, I have a double-sided fine toothed comb somewhere so I'll grab that and start stripping it out, I gave her a bath yesterday and a brush afterwards and lots of fur did seem to be coming out so that could very well be it.
-
Hmm, no, but it is dark red in colour and our soil is brown... I guess I'll soon find out if she keeps bleeding or not.
-
Okay I called the vet, she agreed that it's very early to be coming in, I told her she was otherwise normal (she's happily playing in the yard outside with mum's border collie) and she said to give her a bath or a clean up anyway, see if there's any more blood and where it's coming from and if anything changes (more blood, unusual behaviour, diarrhoea or vomiting etc) then to bring her to the surgery. Which I will definitely do. I love my baby girl I'm not ready for her to grow up yet! Going to give her a bath now.

Nope, not more than usual, I slept in this morning until like 10am and she didn't even stir to be let out for a wee until I woke up. She has been a tiny bit sookier than normal as well.

I was just watching the show yesterday thinking that Daddy was looking old and a bit tired Poor beautiful boy, run free

I was playing with Luuka in the yard today and she rolled over for her usual tummy rubs. I first noticed that the fur on her vulva was wet but I thought she'd done a wee until I noticed that there was blood around her vulva. She was born on the 18th of October 2009 making her just over 4 months old. Is it possible that she's in season!?
-
Awesome I'm googling Equinade now. Local horse supplies store would probably have it though I suppose. Luuka does have that reddish tinge from being outside in the sun, it'd be nice if her coat was all shiny and black again
-
Okay I shall keep playing. In the fee section there's "Catalogue fee" and "Sundry fee" - is the Sundry fee the show entry fee?

Have a look at http:www.showmanager.com.au. You can use the "trial" function for one dog and it is a very easy, user friendly and efficient website for show entries! Hahahahah ellz, I said I was going to! Except I don't understand, I put in the show info then go to print it and it just brings up this (see attachment). Don't I have to nominate which dog I'm taking and stuff? Am I just not using the site correctly? Everything seems to be conspiring against me *huge dramatic sigh*

Hey guys, I want to buy some good colour enhancing shampoo for Luuka's first show on the 13th of March. I have some questions: 1. Does it work? 2. Luuka is mostly black with tan and white markings. If I buy a black enhancing shampoo, do I have to be careful not to get any on her markings? 3. I really need one that can add depth to the little bit of sun-fade that her coat has - any recommendations? Thanks!

Now showmanager.com.au won't work dammit!
-
Dogs QLD had my number this afternoon for me  So now I can fill in my forms on showmanager and get them away this afternoon
-
I wondered what I was doing wrong! That's cool I'm going to join showmanager.com.au and use their forms but I can't print a form until I have my membership number.. it's okay because that should be this afternoon. Sending by express to Mackay tomorrow for a Friday close date, but the show contact said they are usually pretty flexible by a few days.
-
Ahhhh yes I see. I'm going to use showmanager.com.au so I just need to wait for my membership number I suppose before I can do my forms through that, should have my membership number this afternoon according to Dogs QLD.
-
Guys which of these forms do I use to enter a show? I'm just not seeing the right one! http://www.dogsqueensland.org.au/Shows-/-Trials-Forms.aspx
-
Ummmm... am I just really silly? What form do I use to enter a show out of these forms? http://www.dogsqueensland.org.au/Shows-/-Trials-Forms.aspx
-
You definitely should Bummer it's a Sunday only though, means I need to take the Monday off.
-
That sounds perfect for me! Okay so I'd better make sure I get there for the Open show. Luuka is still in Baby Puppy (that's up to 6 months right?) so she wouldn't get Ch points anyway.
-
I'm so glad I have some awesome people showing me the ropes, I'm totally terrified that I won't be in the right places and I'll miss my groups and stuff!
-
I will never work out all this showing stuff
-
Guys what's the difference between a Championship Show and an Open Show? I would save my questions for the local show on the 5/6 March but I need to enter Luuka today for Mackay. I hate the search function on here you still have to search whole threads for answers!

Cooool thanks Miss B! I have a relative on the Sunshine Coast that I can probably stay with, she's my aunt, her hubby is an ENT surgeon so they have a big house in the Buderim ruralish area, which is really close to Beerwah if I'm not wrong? I'll flick her an email to check if I can stay there. Of course you can have Luuka cuddles! I will warn you though, she's not the cuddliest of pups, she has many important things to do don't you know?! She will accept unlimited tummy scratches though

He's swanning off to Melbourne for the weekend
-
Ooooh that could be a hitch! Thanks PR good tip! He probably won't mind joining if I organise it Stick with showing Luuka for now anyway. She's much more polite, even for a puppy, around other dogs.
-
That is so helpful! Thanks heaps I daresay I'll just bring Luuka along to Mackay and the Sunshine Coast then see how things are going with me and the ex (we are getting along fine it's just that we're trying to do the 'space' thing atm ;) ) after that.
