Women Injured And Animals Killed In Overnight Fires (caboolture Qld)

*takes a seat on the couch* Chuck on NCIS willya? Ducky is my man :D Ooh no wait don't bother, this lady in That's Life reckons that her son's best friend's cousin's ghost saved her dog from a housefire! And this lady can only eat McDonalds' fries! Fascinating *one eye on the ICU doors... wonder if my QH swipecard will work... ;) * -
I think her face here is saying, "how YOU doin'?"

I used the articulating screen at first but I found I took better photos using the viewfinder. Is that normal?

Awesome! Thanks heaps kja. Am I better off chucking the 55-200 on to learn as it has a greater range?

Candle re-lit. C'mon Jed. Cooling, soothing, healing vibes to your airway and skin. Alertness and mental clarity to your nurses and doctors -
I did have so much fun it was awesome! I will get down to her level - great advice! What lens do you all find is best for taking shots of dogs? I might have to buy one. I have a Nikon Nikkor 18-55 VR and a Nikon Nikkor 55-200 VR.

Happy Birthday Message To A Wonderful Woman

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIE  <-- I'll have some for you! -
So after doing an admittedly small amount of reading and not really absorbing much I decided to put on the 18-55 and take my new Nikon D5000 out for a spin this afternoon at the dog park. Here's some photos I took. I'd love some feedback. These are unedited apart from cropping.

Totally agree, Jed has always been a very private person, rather than buying memorials, donate to the MDBA / pacers and then Jed can decide how she would like to memorialise her family. fifi Agreed! Just thinking out loud ..sorry. Of course you havn't offended anyone Harminee, you are one of DOL's most caring and thoughtful people I think yours is a lovely idea, it just might be better to wait for Jed's imput before we act. fifi xxxx All really excellent points, I am so sorry I never stopped to consider Jed's opinion of a memorial plaque, she might not want to do it at all and I would totally understand that. Got way ahead of myself and will put all plans on hold for this indefinitely at this stage. -
It's a fairly appalling show isn't it! I only have it on because I don't like to miss the beginning of Masterchef and this was right at the end!

Wendy that is such an important job thank god you're able to do that! -
Did anyone else see this? It was MAGICAL, someone wrote in to say "Is it cruel to stop a bitch from breeding? Do they fret like humans do?" His response was excellent! He said "I get asked this all the time and it baffles me every time, NO! Absolutely not! Dogs do not need to have puppies! In fact there are some serious health risks associated with having puppies ..." (goes on to talk about mammary cancer risk increase). Then that silly Carrie Bickmore idiot says "OH but they're so cute!" and he says "Well if you want your dogs to live long happy cute lives then leave it to the experts - the breeders." You can see it here: http://7pmproject.com.au/video.htm It's the final part of the Wednesday night show, towards the end. Warning: The beginning of that section is about a woman who works to rescue bears in India and Asia and it is quite harrowing

Are neighbours / friends keeping an eye out around the home property for Magnus? If anything wouldn't he wander back there to look for his people? -
How fantastic! What kind of lens / settings etc would you need to capture something like that?

I would also like to say how proud I am of everyone on here, I'll never forget the amazing support and thoughts of strength I got when we nearly lost Atlas last year and of course this is so exponentially worse but it opened my eyes to the kindness of people who have never met but share a common love DOLers -

Lovely idea, Fran Thank you for the updates on her condition. I think one only has to look at the amount of people constantly in this thread to see how valued and respected Jed is. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Jed and hoping Magnus comes home very soon. I have just been on the phone to Talking Stones who are going to send me a brochure of the options they've got, they've offered to do the plaque for the cost of materials and shipping only They're also going to spread the word within their doggy community as much as possible and I told them all about MDBA Pacers and directed them to the Pacers website because they were of the understanding that RSPCA were looking after the animals. I politely corrected them He sounds like a lovely man and is really touched and astounded by how much this community has rallied around Jed in her time of need.
