  1. My 2 also get fish oil tablet (human ones) once a day, mixed with their dry kibbles n a splash of honey..
  2. My 2 mals also go thru a 'bitey' stage. During that period, i have a spray bottle with ACV+water in handy, n whenever they bite (even if the teeth have any contact with the skin) i would give them a squirt..Doesnt hurt, just taste/smell yucky Even when they are play-fighting,sometimes it can get nasty, i bring out the same bottle..n away they run to hide! lol.. But i guess, whichever that works for u..and Persistence is the Key to Success..! Good Luck!
  3. Mine would be :- 1. Alaskan Malamute (currently own 2) 2. Akita 3. Shiba Inu 4. Norwegian Elkhound 5. Samoyed 6. Finnish Lapphund 7. Siberian Husky 8. Greyhound 9. Basenji 10. Whippet
  4. So who would be coming this Sunday? Cant wait lol!
  5. poor dog at the wrong place n at the wrong time... *sigh*
  6. Hi guys, just wondering if theres any off-leash park nearby so i can get my 2 to burn a bit of energy before the shoot? Bourbon can be very hyper n loud, so hoping he would settle down a bit n not stirring up everybody to play with him ..
  7. RIP Brandy.. ..ok r$pca, u put the horse down, fine..but at least give it a proper burial...NOT DUMP IT IN THE DUMP!!!??? WTF? Totally no respect for another life!!! :) .. As a carer n to have witness that, would be so devastating..
  8. hi guys, im interested to get my 2 into lure-coursing. Twilight is 15mths n Bourbon is 10mths.. So for the nxt trial on Sun 9/5, il just have to come at 8.30 n sign on, is that rite? Any other info is much appreciated!
  9. very heart-wrenching..i thought its just another snippets of emanciated dogs behind cages, malnourished, neglected, abuse etc..Those that u see on 'rspca animal rescue' type.. i never work/volunteer in shelters, but i know euthanasia takes place but its more like 'out of sight, out of mind' ... this vid is an eye-opener for me, that this is happening n its real... Bybs should see this, pet shop owners, local councils, those people browsing on tradingpost looking at buying a puppy..friends, family members..The media..we read about 'dog being put down for biting...' a friend said, 'they'l be alright, its just another dog'..huh???!?!? the reply made me sick..if they are deemed as dangerous n a risk, fair enough...what abt the surrenders n the abandoned ones, victims of irresponsible owners? its not just 'another dog', pounds are full with them.. ive passed on this vid for my friends to watch, if they dont break-down n feel remorsed n somehow felt guilty of being 'human', i dont know what to say (end of rant).....
  10. sorry guys, i just came across this.. very sad...may this be an eye-opener to all...
  11. Hi guys, sorry if u have seen this but i just balled my eyes out looking at this video... Sadly, this is what is happening at our pounds....:( http://www.deathrowpets.net/movies/WhatYouDontSee2.wmv http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http://www...wmv&h=a0c27 (interview with euthanasia technician, pets being given 'the shot ... the rest u watch it...as my hands are shaking from seeing this...) ========= sorry for some reason it wont show, but if u have FB, pls join SCARS n u can see the vid in there...
  12. Im in as well...Preferably Sunday though..
  13. Dont give up LM..Persistence is the key to success..!
  14. ..Brings tear to my eyes of what the owners had done to them...But now they are safe n lookd soo much better n happier with u! Thank u for saving this beautiful breed, thumbs up from me ;)
  15. Like Supermic said, i too would never own another breed. I have 2 myslf, Bourbon is 10months (with standard coat) while, Twilight is 15months (shes a wooly/softcoat).. From the pic below, u can see the difference in coat texture .. Bourbon is at 38.2kg at the moment and still growing! while Twilight is only at 29.9kg..although i think she wont be growing much bigger lol! Twilight would require double the grooming as compared to Bourbon..From bath to shampoo to brushing!I brush her at least twice a day to prevent any matted hair, she has to be blow-dry, hair to parted sections by sections n the list goes on....i always advice my friends, Yes they look gorgeous but DONT get a wooly mal, if u dont have the time n patience to groom! i wont have twilight in any other way though
  16. now i have to keep a lookout on Bourbon..We call him 'Mr Stiffy' cos lately he likes sticking out his lipstick for showing.. Stiffy when happy, stiffy when hungry, stiffy everything..urrgh. boys will be boys i guess!
  17. We're going at about 10.30am, as doggies have weightpull at 2pm.. See u there!
  18. I agree that u have to act NOW! Looks like the Mum cant even control her own kids, this is weapon were talking about..and i reckon the police would be able to help u in this matter.. maybe they are throwing knife in their own house too! i mean, what kind of mother would allow their kids to even take a knife for playing?! *shivers*
  19. I agree with RL here, its always a different vet n the last time we went, she didnt even know what breed my dogs are?! We stopped going there n went to The Blooming Vet in Greenbank SC instead. Vets are awwesome n seems to be more aware n knowledgable. JMHO..
  20. Heres a link i got for hot spot .. http://www.earthclinic.com/Pets/hot_spots.html Some of them swear by ACV. ive tried it on Bourbon a couple of times n it does work, the hot spot dries up, scab n peeled off. Lately, ive bathed him with Malaseb n then spray him all over with Permoxin because he decided that he hates the smell of ACV! He got them around his groin area becos he love sleeping the 'frog-leg' position lol!
  21. hi BD, i used permoxin + water n put in a spray bottle. Its an insecticidal spray/rinse. Can get it at City Farmers or other major pet store. Hope this helps.
