I get them too...when I am being lazy. The beef and liver ones are good too. I got the beef ones and Jet liked them but then I discovered that real beef gives him the runs I will try the liver ones next time

Nature's Gift's Chicken Treats - They are $1.99 and I find them in alot of supermarkets in the pet food isle. Jet loves them.

At the moment with Jet I am working with the "here & come" command (recall) Also he is seeing a behaviourist for his small case of fear agression so she told us to work on just how to handle normal day to day situations eg. me being mroe exciting to him, I have to ignore him when I first get home (which is hard when you see his little face)!

Yeah I bought some chicken frames for the first time the other day and Jet licked it for a bit but then just left it all day. Maybe the size put him off.

beef gives my boy the runs not good for the sensitive stomach

I have noticed over the last few days Jet has been scratching alot. I have checked him for fleas and I couldn't find any and I also checked out his skin and there was no visable irritation. So I am trying to figure out what has been making him itch. I gave him a bath on Monday and I used a dog flea shampoo but I have used it before and I never noticed in the past him scratching this much. There are no new plants in the backyard. He also has been a bit off his dry kibble. He was fine when I first brought this new bag but now he will hardly touch it and will only eat his chicken necks so this made me think it may be a diet thing. He was on Purina Pro Plan previously and this is his first bag Purina Supercoat. He has been on this pack since before christmas though. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have been naughty. I have been telling myself I will start walking Jet for half and hour each morning but sleep keeps taking over... my alarm goes off then I decided I want to sleep more! I have walked him for half an hour about 4 times last week in the afternoon though and this week once so far I will go tonight though!

I think you handled the situtaion well

fox terrier cross (he has border collar traits) 3 acres but probably half an acre is taken up by the house and pool. We do training and things in the front yard (one acre) then he is in a small section out the back for during the day for 6 hours (weekdays) or when he plays (1/4 of an acre?) Otherwise he is inside and we do walks or play fetch for half an hour daily.

He should only get treated when he comes right to you (or sits in front of you - you decide the rule but always apply it consistently). Once he is (say) sitting in front of you, say your release word then treat. If he stops too far away, say "too bad" (or whatever you chose), gather up the long line and he gets the short leash, boring walk. You can also practice getting him to like the leash being put on. I say "leash time", put it on then treat. So "leash time" is a fun activity. That would help alot actually thanks. There are just all these little things that need improving.

okay thanks guys. sometimes when I call him he will come close to me but won't come close enough for me to touch him which is a pain if I need to put a collar on him or something. ETA: then if I walk towards him he will run away again.

I took Jet to see a behaviourist on Saturday to help with his slight case of fear agression. It was really helpful and I can see improvements already. She asked me to practice recall as Jet has a mind of his own and if he doesn't want to come he won't. I was wanting to see what more of you advanced training people use as the command word? I was using "come on" but I do not know if it has been efficent enough. I have been using a long lead calling "Jet, come one come one" then saying "yes, good boy" Then giving him a pat or a treat. Please correct me if this is not the right way to do it. I know its a long process I am just wanting to know the best way to start out basic. Also what have people found to work best treat wise? I have been using Lamb Puffs but have ran out and I am going to get some more treats today but thinking of trying something different. Thanks

Breed: Fox Terrier cross weighs 10.4kg Age: nearlly one year Food: dry biscuits (purina) & either chicken frames or chicken necks. Cost: $50 for approx three months worth of dry food so around $5 a week. & $3-4 max a week on chicken.

wow I never knew you could take your dogs up there. I have been wanting to take my boy camping for ages. Might give it a try we are only 20 minutes away from there too but its a beautiful place.

I was thinking about Pet plan as my vet recommended it but I heard so many people say how bad they were so I went with PIA ;)

I only knew basic things. Socializing and Training I wish I knew more about though. My boy has turned a bit fear aggressive and I can think of better ways I could of handled past issues due to information I have learned on here.

I am afraid I am in the same boat as MM. I have the flu atm too, sucky weather for it. But I am hoping I will be over it by next week and I will be happy to do it too. My plan was to get in a routine when I got back to work. I wanted to walk Jet in the morning before work for 30 minutes but the flu stopped me.

I was at the beach sunday with Jet. He was happily playing fetch with me & OH. Then a rotty started following him, trying to jump on him & barking at him. Jet gave him a small and quick growl to tell him to back off really. The owners were at the back of the sand when we were in the start of the water and they didn't even call the rotty back, the rotty ended up leaving after that but gee it does annoy me when owners at the beach just let there dogs wonder way to far away from them.

yes he loved it, also for the social side too. No doubt Wugs will like it too. I felt that GDBD gave us more attention one on one. where as at VIP the group was larger and not as much one on one contact. IMO
