Tallebudgera is the next suburb to Palm Beach so I assuming they are the same. If it says the beach I would assume it is the actual beach besides the creek park. Sorry I haven't taken my dog to that one. I would wait for her Vaccs. As you are unsure what things your dog may catch from other dogs there. There is no fencing at the beaches so I would reccommend starting with you pup onlead for the first trip and see how they go.

I dont know what area you are in but the only dog beaches I am aware of on the Gold Coast are the Spit in southport (I enjoy this one), Kirra Beach at Kirra and Palm Beach. ETA: Usually if you search on your local councils website they will have a list of beaches and parks.

I am not an expert. But having your dog on the lead because you are afraid he will not have good recall is not in the wrong. If these guys dog acted like that I would expect them to have the dog on a lead.

I agree with the crating. Jet when he was a pup was originally just in a bed, but when I got a crate and crate trained him it was great. He now is silent in it and won't do anything until we let him out.

I want to know the same thing. I think she feels its unfair to feed the puppy milk to the chi without letting the foxy have some too. The foxy has put on ALOT of weight. I think she may of been feeding it the puppy dry food too.

Okay thanks! Just wanted to see if it was okay. I dont know where I heard about not giving them the milk. It was the supermarket cartons. I have never given Jet milk on his own but he will sometimes get left over weetbix in milk and stuff.

Tennis balls without a doubt. Or his squeeky can toy. Anything he can play fetch with really!

I have never feed Jet puppy milk. However OH's mum feeds her 6 month old chi and her 4 year old foxy puppy milk daily. I thought it was bad for them to drink it over a couple of months of age, and thought I'd check? The foxy is now putting on weight which is making me worried for her health.

yes no doubt she will be a handful. At least most the kids are at school so you will have some time on your hands. Jet would love a play date

great pic

Jet used to chew on Logs there is no issue with them.

Jet & Jessie do not growl at all when I take a bone off of them. I usually pick it up and move it to another location for them to have. I think that is what it should be. I am thinking that your friend has always just left the dog to eat and has never actually taken the bowl off of them etc to teach that its the way things should work?

bummer sale ended I have been looking for one!

I am the same with the others, I will only say his name to get his attention. Sometimes he does well through a sesh then he gets distracted so I will need to repeat his name again.

I suggest she phone her vet. I'm pretty sure that vaccs are effective within 72 hours but it would pay to check. I take my pups out from when I get them but not to public areas frequented by dogs. Thanks this answers my question. She will call the vet too. I was just curious as I have heard different things and its been a whole year since I got Jet so my memory isn't the best. I do not know what she has done socialisation wise but this will be the first time she has taken her to a public place (dog beach)

sorry i meant the 3.

How long do you have to wait after the fourth vaccination before you can take the pup out? Asking coz my friend wants to come on beach trip with myself and another friend and her pup gets her last vac 5 days before the day we want to go.

I am not sure what the law is in NSW but in QLD since last year it was by law suppose to be done once you have purchased the dog. How old is your dog? If it is old enough to be desexed get both done at once saves the pup from getting the needle as it can be discomforting while they are awake.

I thought I knew everything, turns out I knew nothing. I never knew anything about the pet shop dogs and many other things until i became a member here. I think its to do with the people you grow up with and get your knowledge from (eg my parents never knew about the stuff I found out on here)

How adorable is that big smile!

I agree with this. I know barking can be a pain in the bum. Even my boy does it when people walk past, if I am home ofcourse I will go out and try to stop him. We go for a walk and there is probably two-three dogs that are running up and down barking with the fence. A couple of months ago Jet would of pulled and gone crazy, barking and growling, but now after alot of extra walking and some training he might still look in that direction but he just continues to walk and doesnt make a sound
