You said they were registered? So the amounts I would contest would be the first two stating they were unregistered. Not much you can do about the others.

My pup Jet has had the same issues and it was great to see him on the weekend show the same thing. Such a great feeling!

Obedience Instructors Going Too Far!
Jetty replied to Miss Squish's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Some of these stories are terrible They have put me off going to an obedience club I must admit. I have always had a positive experience in the clubs I have attended for obedience. I can't beleive the outrageous things that some trainers are doing. I would definately not let anyone do those things to my dog! Jet is dog agressive, he is getting better and he would not be perfect regarding focus and some new commands straight away. I would think that trainers would understand that some dogs are like this and take longer to stay focused etc. -
When Jet had his on I made a small area outside cut off from the rest of the yard with shelter and his water and toys and he was fine in there. However he was a clever boy and I came home one day to find he had figured out how to take the collar off!

Thanks Everyone. The only thing I would not want is another dog getting in his face other than that if he is busy & focused he will usually be pretty good. It is a tricky situation. Jet would defiantly benefit from being around calm dogs and is a very fast learner. I know every dog will be different in the classes. I will have a look into VIP again.

Thank you. My behaviourist said that many trainers should be understanding as his issues aren't anything large Oh well. I did the VIP club for puppy preschool with Jet but I will give them a ring and see what they think.

I had Jet's last behaviourist lesson yesterday. It was really great to hear feedback on how much Jet has improved She told me he is now ready to re-enter into obedience classes. I would like a club which is tolerant and understanding of Jet's small case of fear aggression towards other dogs, it may take him longer to settle in a class with other dogs and move to another level. I need a club which has the different level classes of obedience and I wouldn't mind if the club also offered flyball for later on down the track (optional). They need to be in Logan preferably. Recommendations would be appreciated.

oh no LC. I have no advice but that is horrible.

Depending on weather I want a certain breed or not will influence my decision. I want to do good and rescue a pup. However OH & I have been talking about getting certain breeds and if we go ahead with this it will be a registered pup, Not necissaryly on here. DOL has influenced me. Before I was a member I had no idea of puppy farms etc

I have this problem too which has only just started. I have tried the distracting and it sometimes works. I will be looking at this thread with interest

I would love a new signature if anyone has a spare moment. I am not very good at making them I have Jessie & Jet

I agree with TSD on this. I find supervision inside and then taking outside every hour or even half an hour is the best.

Whenever Jet needs a bath he will get one. It usually once a month. He tends to get dirty and yuck after we go to the beach or if its been muddy. At the moment he is dirty but I am not going to bath him until the rain stops up here otherwise he will just get dirty again.

She is such a gorgeous dog! Happy Birthday!

how adorable. OH and I brought Jet together but technically he is mine, I do all the training and taking him to the vet etc. But seeing him speak to Jet in a baby voice and give cuddles and wrestles is the sweetest thing. OH gets soft and if I want to tell Jet off from doing something naughty OH will start telling me not to and talks to Jet in a baby voice again telling him to ignore me! When we get our own place OH we will get another dog and its OH's dog this time. I can see him being worse and talking to it in a baby voice!

sounds like the people I live with

thats looks like a familiar scene in our backyard! I spent ages on the weekend picking up toys and other things the dogs destroyed.
-
I find it difficult picking names. I googled for names when I found Jet's.
-
Jet responds to hand signals more. I used to repeat the words heaps when I first started. Now I will use a mix of just hand signals or hand and vocal.
-
When we moved we took Jet after we had moved our stuff there? I don't think it did him any harm.

Yes, she needs to be fully vaccinated. I'd be waiting until she's older anyway.. a pup can trigger prey drive in a larger dog. A small pup bullied and roughed up by larger dogs is not what you want. Ditto to what PF said. My pup has a small case of fear aggression and I do blame it on me taking him to the busy spit when he was first completely vaccinated as there were some real abnoxious dogs there. If you do take them to the beach I would stick to Tallebudgera or Kirra as they are never as busy.
