It's all undercover luckily! Last year Steve's workshop was at the start of November and it was FREEZING at Camp Tailwaggers (even though it had been warm in Brissy). That's great to hear because my dogs are flaked out here on my tile floor not moving and I have just put my parrots in a cold bath to cool them down and they live inside as well.

I hope its not 35 deg like today or we will all be dead

I walk all my four at once but I only have two leads, the two big ones are joined and the two little ones are joined. It is hard if one is miss behaving but I just stop and have a stern word to that one and we are good to go again. I dont let them walk in front of me, they must be beside or behind so that way they cant criss cross in front.

Just beautiful photos

I've got a spare metal crate if you'd like to borrow it. It's a large size, so should fit a std poodle... my frenchies are spoilt for room Anyone want to car pool from Brissie??? I'm debating about bringing both dogs as they are fighting whenever the crate is around atm (stoopid territorial male) so if someone wants to share the ride I'll leave definitely leave Griffin at home. If you have room that would be fantastic, he is a very tall standard so if you think he would fit that would give me piece of mind. much apreciated Michelle

Dry Food For Sensitive Stomachs
mish13 replied to poodle proud's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My standard Ella has a sensitive stomach so I changed the dry food to Pro plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach. I have not had a problem since using this. -
Can someone please tell me do I have to bring a crate? I don't own one and Oscar has never been crated in his six years? He is the only one of my dogs that is not dog friendly which is why I am bringing him because he is the one that I need help with. So for this reason I wouldn't want to tie him up where any dog might run up to him. I have never been to one of these days before so I am a bit unsure about how they work.

I went a bit crazy with lenses in the beginning and find most of them never get used. I have a Tamron 18-250 which is on my camera most of the time Tamron 90mm Macro 1.1 which I very rarely touch Tamron 11-18 Wide angle lens that I have only used four times Sony kit lenses 75-300 I never use Carl Zeiss 16-80 this was a very expensive lenses that I should use more often I also have a Sony HVL-F42am external flash and a tripod The problem is I mostly take my camera and my small camera bag that only fits my camera with the lenses attached. My other camera bag is way to heavy to carry around so it just gets left at home. I did a short course at tafe but that was only the tip of the ice berg, the more I learn the more there is to learn. My biggest problem I have, is a lot of my pictures are too dark and this camera does not use flash unless I remember to lift it up. I did try a canon and a Pentax before deciding on my Sony, Teds camera house let me take home each one for a week to try them out. Since upgrading to the A700 I realise how much I miss the tilting screen on my A350

I had a SonyA350 but have now upgraded to an A700, they are my first SLR cameras so its been a steep learning curve

Fantastic photos and I especially love the ones of the macaws.

I am not sure if you want to spend the money but when my dogs were young I sent them to doggy day care. They were picked up in the morning and dropped back in the afternoon. My dogs loved playing with all the other dogs and came home and slept like logs they were so tied.

I don't know any of you but you are dog lovers so that's good enough for me. I live on the northern end of the gold coast and where is says its 50.4ks or 41mins to Camp Tailwagers. Any of the people traveling long distance are more then welcome to crash at my house the night before if that helps. I wont carpool the next day thou because Oscar is not very dog friendly. We have just had friends stay for two weeks with two cattle dogs and it worked out fine. I have a fully fenced front yard and double garage that there dogs used and mine stayed out the back and the house. I have two spare bedrooms and a spare bathroom, house trained dogs are more then welcome to sleep in your room with you. I have never been to Camp Tailwaggers so cant wait to have a look at the place. If anyone is interested let me know and I will pm you my details. Thanks Michelle

I have just booked and cant wait to go, I will be bringing Oscar the only one of my dogs that is not dog friendly. Hopefully I can learn somthing that will fix that problem. I have also booked for lunch.

I friend of mine was given an Amstaff puppy for free because it had a cleft pallet and was going to put it down. The cost to fix the problem was around $900 and the dog could eat without a problem. The dog was put down before she was eighteen months old because of her temperament. It turned out not only did she have the cleft problem she had some brain damage and was very dog savage. She attacked there other dog, a staffy and nearly killed him. Lots of money was spent on drugs to calm her down but nothing worked.

I have two standards and yes they do need to be walked every day or taken to the park or some form of exercise. If we don't by around 4pm Ella is dropping a tennis ball at my husbands feet then she runs outside to wait for him. Ella is seven and Oscar is six and they are showing no signs of slowing down. If I cant take them out they are satisfied with a loooooooooooooooooong ball game in the back yard. I don't walk long distances which Ella needs because I also walk a toy poodle and a Jack Russell all at the same time. The Jack will just keep stopping on me if I go to far, so I go for a walk then let them have a run at the dog park. I am lucky to have a dog park five houses away from my home.

I have a Sony A700 and brought my gear from Teds camera house, they let me take three SLR cameras home. I got to take one at a time for a week each to try them out. I now have a few extra lenses and I brought them on ebay and haven't had a problem.

I did a camera course and the teacher said if you down load the photos straight from your camera and the computer shuts down or you have a power serge or black out you could loose your photos. You also have the possibility of doing damage to your camera if this happens. With a card reader you will not loose the photos on your card or damage your camera. Its a must have in my opinion.

I second what dogmad said, I could never leave my dogs outside no matter what the weather is, I know thats not for everyone.

Oh my god what a freak accident, my heart aches for you

Thanks I will keep a look out
