  1. I have a Sony A700, just a suggestion my local Teds camera house let me take home three different DSLR cameras for two weeks each to have a play with them. I took home a canon then Pentax then the sony,I ended up with the Sony A350 and have now upgraded to the A700.
  2. I brought Artemis and have never cleaned up so many runny poo's, it went straight through my poodles. Which one Mish - I haven't had this issue with my tribe but they are all on Seniors. I have forgotten which one it was and I only brought it a couple of weeks ago, it was recommended to me in the poodle forum. Oscar has skin and ear problems that's why I tried it. I will have to go back through the thread and see if I can find the name

  4. I did have a problem many years ago, not with my current dogs. I had a German shepherd and I brought a toy poodle, they got on well together from the start. The problem I had was the Shepherd liked to lick the toy poodle all the time. This resulted in him licking him straight off our back veranda and sooty fell down onto a slab of concrete. He broke his leg and we had only had him for a couple of days. He did recover but it was a slow and costly exercise.
  5. Thanks! Would you mind telling me where you get yours from? Thanks Aziah. Sadly though when I do that they turn their nose up at it. But that's what I get for having poodles ;) I was just getting it at the local pet shop but it was over $130 for the 15kg bag, a friend has just put me onto http://happypawspetfood.com.au/10/ and they deliver it for $108. I am not sure if they are only Gold Coast based? Just went back and checked, they only deliver to the Gold Coast and Hinterland
  6. Osca is 5.5 yrs and Midnight is 1.5. I am looking for a food they could both eat because they eat each others food anyway. Ive tried separating them but then they won't eat ;) Can you give a senior formula to younger dogs? Edited to ask Mish13, what is the proplan kibble like? Is it really hard or does it crumble without too much effort? I wouldn't say it is too hard, my toy poodle has no trouble eating it, all four of mine are feed the same.
  7. I give my poodles Proplan Sensitive skin and stomach, which is salmon based. Ella has a sensitive stomach and Skipper gets hot spots and they both do well on this. I did change to Nutro just because of price but I have just found a company that home delivers and the proplan is $30 a bag cheaper then the pet shop, so I have changed back.
  8. I love my vet his name is Chris and he is at Labrador Vet clinic (Michael Silver (B.V.Sc)) Michael is the owner and is much better with cats Chris is great with my four dogs 1 Clayton St (Cnr of Musgrave Ave) Chirn Park QLD 4215 07) 5591 2255
  9. I have never had a problem here and Coco weighs 4kgs and Oscar is 30kgs, she is way to quick.
  10. I have four dogs, Ella came first she is an 8 year old standard poodle. Then came Oscar he is now 7 year sold standard poodle, next was Skipper he is a Jack Russel and will be 7 in November. Coco my toy poodle came last and she is 6.5 and the bossy one. Ella and Skipper play together for hours, Oscar will stand over them all except Coco. If she has the ball and he tries to take it she will drop the ball and fly up at his face, he gets the message and walks away. They have all been together since they were 8 weeks old and I have only ever had one bad incident. It was between the boys, Oscar was guarding what he thought was a mouse. Skipper came to have a look and Oscar picked him up and shook him. Lucky I was home or I am not sure how it would have ended, Skipper needed a couple of stitches. They are all desexed and have access into my family room all day and they each have there favorite spot to sleep the day away.
  11. That was brilliant, I wonder how many stores here would let you film that in them?
  12. In our local paper today is this story that just makes me sick, this poor dog was in a cage so had no where to go. Dog Survives shooting A German shepherd named Sarge has survived being shot six times. US Police in Toledo, Ohio said the dogs owner and another man took turns shooting the dog in his cage. Dog warden Julie Lyle said Sarge was shot in the head, neck and chest but did not need special care other then pain medicine and antibiotics. The dogs owner is due in court next week on animal cruelty charges.
  13. You can get what you are after here, and they do deliver but not sure of the cost for the items you are after. http://www.thebarfshop.com.au/shop/contact_us.php
  14. I feel for you, I had a similar thing happen with my 17 year old Staffy a couple of years ago. He got a bloated stomach and I took him to three different vets trying to find out what was wrong. Due to his age they did not want to operate, so we tried different food and drugs to no avail. Finally at my now permanent vet he explained that Theo's body temp was going down meaning his body was shutting down. The kindest thing for Theo was to give him his wings, I will never forget that day but I know he is in a better place. Thinking of you
  15. Not sure if anyone else saw the episode where he was helping the lady that was the trainer on Biggest looser. (forgotten her name) She had the most magnificent horse and was riding it bare back. Cesar said can I jump up there with you to show you how to train your dog to walk with the horse. I thought at the time if I was his wife I would not have been impressed with him pressed up against her.
  16. She is so cute and the photos are brilliant
  17. How nice was that to be able to take him, I am sure lots of elderly people have had to give up much loved animals when they had to move into care. Cooper is beautiful and I just love that doggy coat
  18. That last picture does tug at the heart strings, if only he could talk, just beautiful
  19. I cant help you as I live on the Gold Coast but I was lucky enough to look on a web site called www.housecarers.com and I got lucky. The first person I found was a 29 year old vet nurse that lives in the next suburb to me and she was available to house sit. Nikkie has been coming to my house for one night to nine nights for the last eight months and I couldn't be happier. I have four dogs, a cat and two parrots and they have all been taken care of beautifully. My house is also well cared for in the process. Nikkie is the second vet nurse we have had as our house sitters, the last one I meet through a friend and I had her for over two years. Try this web site or perhaps ask at the local vet if anyone is interested. I asked for written references and just had a really good gut feel when I first meet my sitter. We did have one lady in between that I only used twice and didn't feel right so we didn't use her again. I don't think she did anything wrong except she was always out when I called. I would much rather have someone stay at my house then put my animals into a kennel, plus its way cheaper. Good luck
  20. I am still at the stage that if I brought that camera that the better photographer had I know I could take better photos
  21. That poodle is always impeccably groomed because the owner is a very good professional groomer. If I ever get my poodle I know who will be grooming it at least until I figure out how to do it myself. That explains it then, I can clip OK but as far as scissoring goes I am terrible. I wish I could find someone to teach me because I would love to have my poodles looking like that
  22. Great photos, just love that poodle wish mine were as well groomed ( I am the groomer)
  23. OMG that is so on my bucket list, I am very jealous, more photos pleaseeeee
